I just started my membership with Dr. Marisse and her lovely staff, including Shawna and Kayla. They are all so wonderful. I love how quick they are. Came here to get my 4 months old baby ear piercing. Dr Kevin explains everything really well and there are 3 other staff watching us in the room. He used a pen to mark the ears to make sure they are even on both sides. He did the piercing on both sides of my daughter ears at the same time using the gun piercing. the worst part is he MiSSED the spot on the right ear. So he unplugged the earring and pierced the right ear again. My baby screaming crying as it hurts. she got pierced three times in the short amount of time. It's very unprofessional as an experience doctor to make that kind of mistake. He did apologize and followed up on the next day by the phone call but I really don't recommend this place for ear piercing especially for infants or toddler. read more

The one who you show a picture to and it turns out exactly like it and and how you want it? Well, that's what I found with Dr. Marisse, but for something much more important, my health! It's easy to get comfortable in certain circumstances, even if it's not the best for you, because it's familiar and you know what to expect. That's how I was with my health care. I knew it would take weeks, even months if I needed a specialist, to make an appointment. I knew when I got to my appointment, I'd be packed in a waiting room with people who had the same appointment time or even earlier ones than me. I knew when I met with my doctor, I would spend 8 minutes getting reacquainted with her while she read through my charts. Then the final 2 minutes would be spent on the actual appointment. Often, it wasn't even my doctor, but whatever PA was available that day. I didn't know there was any other option, until I found Upper Echelon Medical and Dr. Marisse. I actually heard her name from my mother-in-law a few years ago. She's with Kaiser Permanente and mentioned her former doctor recommended plantbased whole foods as an option. Once I heard that, I knew Dr. Marisse was speaking my language. But for those of you who aren't into all that, she's definitely trained and well-versed in traditional medicine too. The only thing that kept me from contacting her sooner was her "membership model." I had no clue what that was or how it worked. After years of dealing with conventional doctors and going through insurance, that's what I was used to, what I was familiar with. When I met with yet another doctor last year -- who I don't think ever made eye-contact, then scheduled a bunch of tests without explaining what they were or why I needed them, then later called to tell me my blood tests were "normal" but my cholesterol was "slightly elevated" and if I wanted to discuss possible medications for that -- I figured I'd meet with Dr. Marisse and figure out the membership model later. I'm so glad I did. Dr. Marisse took her time to really get to know me, listened to all my babble, and answered every one of my questions. She didn't rush me out to get to her next patient. She even followed up with an email summarizing my visit and next steps. She scheduled blood tests, explaining why each was necessary. Going through her instead of my insurance (although that was also an option), actually saved me a lot of money. I apologize for the length of this review, but I have to mention, Dr. Marisse went through all my bloodwork results with me. She explained what everything meant and what could be done to improve certain numbers. For one number, I was in the "normal" range. Dr. Marisse said I passed, but asked if I just wanted to pass or if I wanted to get an A+. My husband chuckled and agreed, Dr. Marisse and I are on the same page. So, don't worry about this new-fangled membership model. It's definitely worth it to work with a doctor who actually cares. After calling several clinics and finding everyone fully booked, I called Upper Echelon Medical, and they scheduled my husband for a same-day appointment. Some might assume that because they had availability, they might not be good, but the reason they have time for their patients is because they are a direct primary care facility, which means no insurance headaches. On the same day they scheduled my husband, I signed up for their services too, and it was one of the best decisions I've made. During my first visit, I was nervous because I found out I had COVID, but aside from that, they've been incredibly helpful with everything. They are very hands-on and proactive. They took care of obtaining records for my pap smear, handling the entire process of requesting records from another facility. They did the same for my husband, contacting his previous doctor to retrieve his records. Dr Kevin performed medical ear piercing for me and my 5 year old granddaughter. I was referred to Upper Echelon Medical by Blomdahl, a company that sells medical grade plastic post earrings for sensitive/allergic people. I had several questions about the process and age limit. Dr. Kevin responded to my emails very quickly, with detailed answers. Our experience was fantastic! We met Dr Kevin and Dr. Herrara and were made to feel very welcomed by the friendly, patient and professional doctors. I had my ears re-pierced, as I have not been able to wear earrings for 25 years; and my very nervous granddaughter had hers pierced as well. She really wanted to do it but was scared.
