Anyway, this station does feel like it is in the heart of one of the suburban parts of London, though honestly, it is pretty closed to Camden Town.

If you're used to cramped platforms and packed escalators, Tufnell Park is a breath of fresh air: very small and very quiet (at least whenever I've been there), with some very nice Victorian architecture and fairly clean for a Tube station. Downsides are that it has lift-only access to platforms.

The station itself was okay, but I probably won't be getting off here if I'm not a local, namely because there isn't a pub around to go and get a beer.

This is a cute and somewhat modern (in part) station which gets a little busy around commuting time, and is in the 2/3 zone not far from Central London and not far from the football stadiums. Some of my many friends in North London live near here which is why I occasionally get on and off here. But if the arch is heavy, how much does the arch weigh?

I have certainly mentioned this before when it comes to Overground stations, and that is that they…read moreare nowhere near as sexy as the Underground stations. But I suspect that I have given my reason for that as well. It looks like the Overground has basically repurposed old tracks and turned them into a suburban railway. Still, despite the stations not being that great, the overground is still really quite handy.

Saves on fares as you do not go through Zone 1 It is a few minutes walk to and from Camden Town Tube Station, which gets quite congested at the weekends, and is exit only. Entrance to the underground is at the opposite end at Mornington Crescent, a 10 minutes walk down Camden High Street. It is also a short distance to Camden Lock and Regents Canal. Turn right when you come out of the station and walk pass Sainsbury's and you will see Camden Town Tube Station ahead of you, from here is the starting point to the Camden Markets, the Lock, live music venues, and places to enjoy international cuisines. A lively and busy area any day, but especially at the weekends.

It isn't a terminus station, but it is still quite large, no doubt because it does happen to have national rail services stopping here, though they don't always do that because, well, some of them are express as you probably should be catching them at the termini. It's not a bad station though, and they also have a bus interchange here as well.

Finsbury Park is a posh and busy part of North London, not far from Camden Town, and Islington and Arsenal Football Club and all the good stuff. It's very busy and it has overground services, and it's generally a good place, although I've been delayed here a couple of times. It's still one of the better stations around in my opinion. But not enough for five stars.
