I ordered a package to my house. When I'm sitting on the couch I see the UPS driver slow roll past my house and then drive off. Not even a minute later I get a "ATTEMPTED DELIVERY" email from UPS. No driver attempted anything. I call the UPS store to inquire about this to be told by the nice lady "oh yeah, that happens a lot". WHAT?! I call UPS directly, and they say there's nothing they can do about it except "taking it to the higher ups", but the outcome is the same - It'll be delivered on the next available day. What if it's the same driver, and they do the same thing? This is ridiculous. I've made my schedule clear for this delivery because it's a gift for a birthday, just for the driver to be the laziest person on earth for the day and not be held responsible. DO BETTER. read more

The customer service I received from Siheed I think his name was. His English wasn't the easiest to understand. I had tried to ask what time the package for my business is coming because I have other job duties to attend to, other than sitting in the office waiting for the delivery. The delivery driver will not call the office phone as the sign on the door says to where they put the sorry we missed you sticker. I couldn't leave driver instructions either. I saw the UPS driver driver past my business earlier today. This package is very important and has to do with the security of my business I told the customer service tech. He said it's the holidays and there's lots of deliveries. I understand that I just wanted a realistic time window and cannot miss the delivery since I can't leave instructions or anything. He hung up on me other than giving me an answer so I couldn't do the survey following the end the call. The order is for the business under the business name and should be delivered during business hours but we'll see if the package comes during office hours or not. I saw the delivery driver sitting at a McDonald's across town. I don't see how it would have been difficult to notify me that yes you have 30 minutes to run errands for the business and return to the office. If the package doesn't get delivered during business hours today I will never use UPS again for all the personal things I ship. I ship quite a bit through them but I'll spend more to ship with USPS or FedEx. The drivers are always quick to put the sorry we missed you sticker on top of the sign on the front door that say IM HERE CALL THE OFFICE. It sad how much we pay to ship items but that's asking to much out of the company. The drivers won't even knock on the door anymore. Even if the package is just paper they will not just drop it at the door. Instead they love to put that sticker on the door. Terrible service and waste of a work day. I will change my rating from a 1 star to a 2 star if my package gets delivered before the business closes this evening at 5pm. The package was supposed to arrive between 10:30am and 1:30pm. I sent a package marked FRAGILE all over, packed well and paid extra insurance. It arrived in pieces. I spoke with "customer service" at least 10 times and sent proof of damage to the box (it looked like an elephant sat on it) and sent it by snail mail and email. And after more than I year I was never able to collect on the insurance. A pure scam!! read more

The drivers are so inconsistent. One of them knocks on an exterior patio gate door that is obviously not connected to a house since it has no roof. This is, about 50 yards away from the house entry door, where the driver needs to come for a signature. So I have to run outdoors to try to catch the driver to get my package. Then today the packages were left on top of the exterior entry gate, next to the street where people walk by all the time. The packages were left on the fence post about 5 feet off the ground, so everyone going by can see them. So I went outside to retrieve them but one of the boxes is too heavy to lift off the door. So there it sits. And ofcourse, they have a local number which they refuse to list, instead, only having a 800 number that is unable to render any assistance. A previous driver was so out of shape that he virtually had to roll out of the driver's seat to get out of the truck. I have no inkling as to how this person could ever do the job required... They need to train these people better or do a better job of recruiting. read more

These folks are very efficient - they only do shipping so the customer service for shipping needs are first rate. A little out of the way as it is not a downtown location but well worth the effort to find. If you have an account it makes things even easier as your method of payment and address are all on file. All that is needed is to provide the location where you are shipping to. Highly Recommended!!! read more

I live in Monterey and the UPS drivers deliver to my neighbor who usually receive packages almost every day. The drivers rip around the corner and speed so fast that they've created a huge hole in our street. I've complained about it three times already as we have two small dogs and my neighbor has two small children that are always playing in the yard. Today again this happened, but this is the fastest I've ever seen! This is a 10 mile residential zone and he punched it to at least 35 mph. We have 3 slow down signs on our street!!! I will be getting a Ring video so I can record them and will send them to the local television stations to post if this does not stop! Eventually they will end up killing my puppies or one of the children and they will be sued!! So the manager of the UPS location at Ryan Ranch, Monterey needs to respond and take some action NOW!!! read more

Unbelievably POOR customer service, not to mention a driver who appears incapable of doing the job UPS is known nationwide for doing so well. My packages are being left on the street, not to mention a number of them arriving damaged. I email UPS customer service and receive a very sympathetic correspondence, with a promise of a phone call to straighten out the matter. The phone call comes from an Unknown Caller ID and half the time these people don't leave their names or a return phone number. Meanwhile, the 800 number that's listed on their website goes to a nice man in India who doesn't speak much English and can do NOTHING to help me. I've just cancelled all my repeat shipments with every vendor who uses UPS to ship, and have requested they use ANY other shipper from Amazon, etc. so that I no longer have to deal with incompetence and laziness. read more

UPS should shut down. We have had a coffee table stolen by employees, and an overnight delivery of lobster held by the Monterey office for 5 days. How the driver drove with rancid lobster in the truck is beyond me. They don't deliver packages on time at all. I have a package due today and, lo and behold, the driver just drove past my house without stopping even though the package was on the truck. This is common, so what are they being paid for? I will never ship anything by this two-bit fraud of a company. read more

My package came in on Friday at 6am but still hasn't been delivered to my home on Seaside. It says delayed due to severe weather but as a resident, that is bull***t. And as we have all seen, their drivers are horrific with speeding in residential areas, almost side swiping other drivers on the highway, etc. read more

If I could give a ZERO I would. Before this I never had trouble with UPS, but after this experience I will NEVER use them again and I will encourage everyone I know from doing so as well. I was waiting for a very important package that - when I ordered it - said would not require a signature. Because I needed it ASAP, I paid the extra money to narrow my delivery time to a 2-hour window. As I raced home on my lunch from Marina to Monterey, I noticed I never received an update that my package had been delivered. I logged into the UPS app and sure enough it said that they had missed me - even though I'd paid the extra amount and it had said it would not require a signature. I called UPS and they said I would need to go to the Ragsdale location later in the day to pick it up - so, me having to do THEIR job. They told me the driver would call me within the hour but no matter what it would be at that location. I left work early so I could nab the package in time, driving into the cuts to find the Ragsdale location. As I drove in, the traffic going out was dead stopped. I was gonna be here a while no matter what. When I got to the Ragsdale location, they didn't have it. It was still with the driver. I didn't get an apology or anything, they just told me if I could get to the LIGHTHOUSE location in MONTEREY in the next 45 minutes, I could POSSIBLY meet the driver there and get my package. If not - tough. I was able to get to the Lighthouse location with barely seconds to spare and was able to get my package there. But let's be clear - I drove home on my lunch to get my package - UPS didn't have it. I drove back to work. I left work early to drive to the Ragsdale location where they said for sure it would be. It was not. I then had to drive back to Monterey (and I also had to leave my wife to get an Uber ride home - another expense - so I could get to the package in time). This UPS is a JOKE and I have NEVER been so angry with a delivery service in my entire life. Since I completely did their job for them. I will never use UPS again. Unless they care to send me the gas and uber money to make up for my troubles. Never again. read more

UPS really doesn't get it. I can understand that the medicine I am being sent has a delivery date of yesterday. Yes, I need to be here to sign for it. I know you know that because you tell me that. It is medicine. We are in a pandemic (which you use as a "reason" for delays) so I know you know that too. I am an essential worker so I need to work, being home to sign is hard when you are essential and at work. Then, you do not deliver by 9p.m. that night. Your reason is a late airplane. One of yours. Then, you put it out for delivery by the end of today, until 9 p.m.. Really? You were late because of your plane, you know I need to sign and you know it is coming from a pharmacy. Couldn't you expedite it for first thing int he morning since it was your error that caused it to be late? Then you call customer service. You get MAY who keeps saying I really apologize, but is not doing one thing to help. Then she just hangs up. Hate to tell you may and UPS, that sort of negates your WHOLE excuse and do nothing apologies. If you are going to use the pandemic as an excuse, you better be able to at least provide some level of service. Asking us to understand is a two way street. I was waiting on a critical package all day and the tracking information said it would arrive sometime between 8 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. I tried calling the 800 number that this location advertises and couldn't get a human being or any useful information. It got to be 6:30 and I was worried whether package would arrive before I had to fly out in the morning. Package finally arrived at 7:15. UPS needs to figure this out. Let us know. I was stuck in the house waiting because a signature was required. And there is no way to talk to a human being! I blame you UPS at 6 Upper Ragsdale! I am so grateful for the staff at this location! I recently moved to SLO from the Peninsula and absentmindedly had an order shipped to my address in Pacific Grove. My bad! I did not realize my mistake until the day it was out for delivery - two hours north of my new residence! I made several calls to try to find help. After ending a couple of frustrating calls, I received a call from a very sweet female employee of the UPS Ryan Ranch location (I forgot your name). I've been going to pick up my packages at this center since I moved to PG. My appt doesn't have public access so I understand why I get UPS service notes. A simple call to their 1-800 number does the trick. The pattern I've noticed is that my packages are ready for pick-up around 7:45pm through 8:15pm. (The times will vary because the truck drivers are out delivering their scheduled deliveries & they go back to the center when they are all done with the deliveries in their truck.) I don't know whether both Amazon and UPS have dropped the ball but it's been a bit of a nightmare trying to return a defective bed frame while I've been forced to move during a pandemic! First amazon says UPS will pick up for free. Then UPS says I'm to be charged over six dollars for the shipping label and then the delivery man shows up and 1) does not have a mask on which freaked me out and 2) tells me that he doesn't have a label and that I have to wait a couple of days for the label to come to UPS. ??? read more

Due to road closures, UPS has not been delivering south of the bridge that was out in Big Sur. I knew I had a number of packages awaiting pick-up, so I called toward the end of one week to arrange to pick them up on that following Monday and to please hold them. I was supposed to have received a package from my mother yesterday but it never showed up. Tracking said "delivered" but I didn't get it. The driver was very upset and kept telling my mom he left it by the sliding door. No, my sliding door is to my backyard. It would have been ridiculous to put it there considering the amount of walking he would've had to do to get into the backyard, but he insisted I check. Nope. He basically says oh well to her and hangs up. My mother calls back and now merges our call. He ends up telling me he left it on the patio at a house down the street. Then, he tells me he'll just swing by tomorrow to pick it up. "No, I would like my package tonight please." "Well then, you can go get it. I was just there again and no one is even home." WHAT!? He drove by, saw the package was still on the porch, left it and went back to the office! "I'm not about to walk down the street at 8pm to get a package you delivered to the wrong house. It's insanely dark outside and I'm not about to get it off their porch." My mom is telling him she isn't comfortable with me taking a package off someone's patio there could be cameras, it dark out... "Why not? I said no one was home and there aren't any cameras, I didn't see any cameras." "Oh my goodness, this is ridiculous. I'm not walking down there to the end of the street. It's pitch black outside. I would REALLY like and appreciate if you would come get it." "Look lady, if you want your package tonight you need to walk down there and get it. There are no cameras, no one is home. You get there, walk into the gate and it's on the porch. If not, I don't know what to tell you other than you're going to have to wait until tomorrow. Bye." He hangs up! My mother calls and talks to the supervisor, she can hear him in the background extremely upset. He ended up bringing it. At this point though, I was even more uncomfortable with him coming to my house than walking down the street. I was nervous the entire time waiting for him to show up. I hope to never experience this again. According to the supervisor, Rob is new and is still in training. I meant to write this review sooner - I had a horrible customer service experience back in May when I visited the UPS Customer Center in Ryan Ranch. My actual issue occurred on 5/23/2014. I had ordered an expensive piece of equipment, and had arranged to pick it up at the UPS center rather than letting it sit on my doorstep all day. On my lunch break, I drove over there and walked in. Nobody was at the front desk and the whole building was very quiet. I checked my clock and it was 12:51 pm. I stood there and waited for several minutes. At 12:56 pm, I started getting frustrated. I rang the desk bell a few times but it was sort of broken and didn't do much. I called out "Hellooooooo...." several times and nothing. Finally, I stepped back behind the counter and poked my head into the adjacent room. It was the will-call area and I could see a bunch of packages just sitting there. I walked through the will-call area and out into the warehouse. It was dark and very quiet. I looked around and said "Helloooo?" and just then I saw a woman towards the back of the warehouse - she appeared to be a janitor. She looked right at me, ignored me and walked quickly up a staircase. I didn't feel comfortable walking around the big empty warehouse, so I went back to the front counter and decided to walk around the outside of the building. I exited the front entrance, and walked around the west side of the building, eventually arriving at the back. There were no employees coming or going, no trucks. Everyone gone. I saw a sign that said something like "Employee break area, no smoking." and figured maybe there would be some employees through that door? I stepped inside and realized I was back in the warehouse - except this time I could see the manager's little glass building and two people inside talking. I approached the little building and waved and an employee stepped out. And this is where it got ugly. He addressed me very angrily saying I was not supposed to be back there - and I told him I didn't doubt that, but I'd been waiting over 10 minutes - and he cut me off and yelled at me and said I was a "little liar" (!!!!) and that he'd only been gone a few minutes. I responded and told him that I know what time I'd arrived and had been watching my clock before I decided to go looking for someone. He told me to go back to the front desk immediately and that he could help me there. And I asked if I could follow him through the warehouse or did I need to go all the way back around the building? He let me follow him through the warehouse and as we got back to the front desk, he put his hand out and pointed to me to get on the other side of the counter and said "Now, get over THERE." He was an older guy - like, mid 60's and very grumpy. I signed for my item and left and promptly called UPS' 1-800 # to complain. The Ryan Ranch manager called me back within the hour and I told him what happened. I suggested a few things: 1. Don't have grumpy people working at the front desk. 2. Don't leave your front desk area unattended for more than 1 minute - or, - lock up and put a sign on the window saying "Be back by 00:00 (time)" Still irritated at how rude this old guy was. They stole my package. I gave it to a driver who was loading his van there (customer service was closed) and he said that it would be scanned in at noon. Never was scanned in. UPS denied claim because it wasn't scanned in. Obviously someone there stole my package. What a racket. read more

I regret to say that this UPS location has the WORST customer service EVER!!!! They screwed up on there end and I didn't receive my packages as scheduled. There sitting at there location waiting for ME to pick them up. How do you pick up packages from them if the hours you work are the same as there hours that there open... Smh!! I am extremely upset with ups delivery service, my package supposed to arrive on Thursday, I got a small part of it while the main package was to be delivered by 7 O,clock on Friday evening. I contacted customer service after seven to inquire about my package, after few minutes of checking the agent told me it should arrive to my house within 45 minutes. UPS customer service is useless. They apparently have little knowledge of actual conditions in the field and can do nothing to impact operational issues. It's Dec 9 and I sent overnight delivery. Package arrived at San Pablo distribution center at midnight. Now almost 20 hours later a truck filled with over night mail sits unloaded with no one able to declare when it will be unloaded for distribution. Why in the world is UPS still taking over night and other shipping when their system is not in control. And remember it's only Dec 9. Beware of shipping with them read more

Today, Nov 27, we were pulling into the parking lot of my therapy office. I'm on a knee scooter as I can't walk at this point. We look for a handicapped spot only to find a UPS truck taking up the last spot. We park and I'm getting out my phone to take a photo. A lady in a wheelchair goes by complaining she was in an illegal spot as she couldn't get her chair out of the regular spots. She was also going to take a photo. As we went up the walk to the building,the driver comes out. We confront him about his illegal parking and his only comment is "sorry". Shame on you UPS read more

monterey peninsula delivery for ups SUCKS ASS. their drivers are liers & lazy and whoever delivered the seaside-yosemite street- area is a LIER. they claimed they tried to deliver my package at 852 pm when they NEVERA DID. i never recieved a "Sorry we missed you slip" nothing considering my dront foor was wode opened and there was 2 people sitting in my living room and 1 standing in my door way, who the hell did i miss you??? the driver was just lazy. then when i call today im being told "well they tried and you wasnt there so you gotta wait till monday, there is NOTHING we can do" im highly upset and pissed off about the lies. read more
