But once I seen the reviews and the negative comments I said " man I'm about to have a bad experience " but the second I stepped in I was greeted .... Which made feel comfortable. I actually did have a good experience here. Easy to get my package, no line or fuss. However online the store hours should be adjusted. This store is only open 2-8 pm on weekdays. I come to this location maybe once a week to send back Amazon returns or ship general mail. I always have a positive experience. The workers are fast and friendly. I've never had to wait long. The only downside is the hours. This location is closed on Saturdays and Sundays (even though that is not what it says online). This is INCREDIBLY frustrating. As most others I tend to run most of my errands on the weekends and cannot do that at this location. During the week they are open 2-8pm. I wish they opened a littler earlier as then I come come do my business during lunch but I appreciate that there's plenty of time after I'm off work. read more

I really wish I could give this place a zero. Spoke with someone who told me my package was at the store. Then got to the store and the clerk told me I had to wait two hours or pick it up the next day. He said he put it in the system so I could come back and pick it up the next day and I agreed and left. The next day I call to make sure it is available to pick up like he said it would be but because UPS is incredibly unreliable I called to confirm first. Sure enough they put my package on the road to NOT be delivered again. And I'm told they will do this process for the next 3 days (putting my package on the road, not delivering it and bringing it back to the store, and leaving a sticky note on my door while I'm home) until after Christmas. This UPS, South Boston (Corporate UPS) facility is an absolute disgrace, and joke. It is clear that UPS considers its customers to be disposable. Not only have the hours of this Customer DIS-Service Counter been reduced to two hours per day (the UPS website says one hour per day), the line/wait is insane, and staffing grossly inadequate. Ups had a package to deliver but the driver did not do so. When contacted I was told 4 times that I would be contacted within an hour. Never did I receive the call. This is the second time I have tried to use this location which indicates customer hours on the website and also right on the front door of the building as 2pm-8pm. That is unless they decide to throw up a hand written sign that says "closed till x time". It's really annoying to come down here during open hours to find out that they aren't open. read more

Drivers repeatedly do not show up for scheduled pickups, or deliver directly to the UPS Access point instead of to your home (lazy). Specific incident of a driver leaving a "missed delivery" while I was home (video of him not ringing doorbell), coordinating pickup at the customer center (closes @ 8:00pm) only to to have the UPS Staffer behind the customer tell me, "driver won't be back until 9:00, and we're closed by then..." Boston is the worst delivery area, with the worst drivers, and worst dispatch center in the country. read more

Horrible experience- I just find it hard to believe that I am leaving UPS with the same box I came in with because they are unable to print shipping/pre-paid return labels. Staff passed on the task of printing a label faster than the full question could leave my mouth. Just wow.... Honestly telling me that a "customer center" has NO capabilities to print a label and take a small package? This is the second time I've had an identical experience at this UPS location. 1 PRO: Crystal is amazing. She provides outstanding service to each customer. I could overhear her conversations with several patrons and with each one she was patient and very respectful. She earned this location the only star it deserves. CONS: Joe is extremely condescending and rude. He doesn't belong in any form service field. Bob is pretty rude as well, but seems to know just who to turn it on and off for. Location is terribly difficult to find. Your GPS is sure to tell you that you've reached your destination as you drive over a body of water via some street bridge. UPS isn't opened on weekends, or early during the week.. Instead, they're conveniently opened while the rest of Massachusetts is at work. Greeatt! Friday nights are insane and the line is nearly out the door thus causing even more frustration. When you call the 800 number (in advance) to have your packages held at customer center, the request isn't guaranteed to be relayed because "we don't know where those people are calling from.. We don't know what state or part of the world they're even calling from." (According to Joe). In both cases, I was purchasing online goods and this is the carrier service those companies use thus forcing me to deal with the poor service this UPS provides. Terrible place. Time 1: Only delivered 2 of the three packages. I called the number and was told that someone will contact me. Indeed someone from the customer service at the South Boston place called me and asked me to come to their station between 7 and 8 to pick them up. I went there by cab and was told by a rude man that no one called me and I need to go home after keeping me waiting for 20 min. I waited for another two hours and was later told that someone did call me BUT they COULD NOT find the packages, which are in their storage. Is this how they treat people by just calling them around? So I waited for another three days and they still DID NOT deliver the package. Time 2: two weeks after this happened, I was told by their tracking record that one package was left in my door step on Friday. On Friday, when I was walking back home I saw the UPS guy delivering things on my side of the street (he was already done with my door). Today I just found from the UPS tracking record that a package was delivered to me on that day, basically 10 min before I saw him. But when I entered the building on that day, I did not see the package at all. Seriously, is this what they are paid to do? Stealing people's packages and give them wrong information? Depending on the time of day that you're there to pick up your package, you can get really good service or really crappy service. They're understaffed most of the time at the customer service area (despite being a huge sort), so the service varies with customer volume. I've been there in the afternoon and also just before the hub closes, and my experiences have been mixed. While UPS has an incredible tracking system overall, their customer service people seem to either like their jobs or appear to not want to be there at all. The evenings I've been there after work to pick things up (and usually i can't get there until just before they close), I've had to wait forever in line. By the time I got to the front of the line, the rep would give me so much attitude about grabbing my package. Seriously, if you don't want to be here, quit. I don't need your B.S. just to grab something that I could have gotten if my doorbell to my apartment worked. The few times I've been there in the afternoon have been quiet, and the rep there has been nothing but kind and helpful. Even though I was slightly impatient (I had to be somewhere), she was understanding and knew how valuable my time is. She grabbed my package quickly without fuss, and that was that. I agree with 90% of the posts that were negative on here about this location. I am disabled and it's worse when you are. There was one very nice dark skinned woman who was dealing with most everyone and she even said my driver with my shipment would be back in 2 1/2 hours ((45 minutes after they closed) but she would be there and I could pick up my package then. Boy what a hole in the wall this place is. I was surprised to hear these people don't even get holidays. What kind of cheap losers head this corporation, I'm going to find out. UPS is quite possibly the least customer centric company in the continental United States. After moving into my new condo last week, UPS has attempted to deliver 3 packages multiple times and have refused to pay attention to my notes at the front door to deliver to the back. Instead I've received three info-notices and all three packages were sent back to the seller. Why these packages can't just be held at their service center is beyond me. It's .5 miles from my home. It seems like everyone else has the same opinions of UPS... if they would adapt features like FedEx where you can specify a convenient delivery time, it would be an improvement. read more

I had the worst experience with this location. First I stayed home all day waiting for my package to get picked up. The driver never rang the doorbell but instead left the return labels under the door. I paid almost $50 to have them pick it up. I was told it would be picked up the next morning. I come here often and if he sees me waiting in line he tells me to just leave the pre-labeled package on the counter. Not even 1 star. 319 Centre St Rockland Mass & UPS overall. If you bring returns to the store, not all locations accept returns. They expect the customer to know their process of needing a shipping label to be on the package when you bring it to the store. Also, in a small store with only a few customers, they don't maintain awareness of which order customers entered the store (so waited on a customer who arrived after me). Since I had someone scream at me for blocking where he wanted to drive (I was waiting for someone to back out of a parking spot/there were no other spots), I was distressed enough as it was to vocalize I had been there first. Customer service is condescending in tone and repeats the same message as on a loop. If it still goes wrong, it's the customer's fault. I'm on my third attempt to return a useless package I didn't open. I try to avoid UPS generally. This is a reminder why. read more

I have never had more problems with a carrier than I have had with this UPS store. The troll who works the front desk is horrible, he must be half demon. Packages "lost" just because they didn't want to actually look for them. Your stuff will be marked as "out for delivery" when it is still sitting in a trailer out back. You will be told you'll get a call regarding your lost package, and they never call. Or they will call the back up number you provide and then hang-up on that person mid conversation. The UPS Delivery people are always very nice, but the delivery service is very unpredictable. UPS provides a four hour delivery window. I stayed home most of the day waiting for the delivery. Had a hard time finding where to write this review... because low and behold... THE ADDRESS IS screwed up... Some say it's Pappas Way, others say Summer Street. Make up your mind. All right, to be honest, I can't comment on the service here. I've never been to this place... but based on the reviews, I don't think I ever want to. My gripe is with the drivers from here, or at least one in particular. I was on my way to an interview at Mass General Hospital a few weeks ago. Traffic was bad and I'd allowed myself another 20 minutes to get there... that's usually enough to account for traffic. Well it is, but not when you miss a turn. Anyone who drives in Boston knows that if you miss a turn, you run the risk of adding an extra 20-30 minutes to your trip. Well I was behind a UPS guy who proceeded to turn down a rather narrow road, stop, put his hazards on, and get out of his truck. This is pretty standard behavior in Boston and why I don't usually drive too close to delivery trucks. My issue comes with the fact that THE ROAD WAS TOO NARROW TO GET AROUND HIM! His truck completely blocked off the road as there were cars parked on either side. I seriously doubt that it's legal to block off traffic like that... if it is... #OneTermWalsh. But I digress... Next turn was a few blocks up. Waze was going nuts finding me another route. Long story short, I arrived 20 minutes late to the interview, they couldn't see me and did not offer to reschedule. So that's 40 extra minutes all because one of your drivers pulled this inconsiderate BS. I tried to take a picture, but because it was raining so hard (yeah adding to the problem), the windshield was blurred. So thank you UPS, but I think I'll be dealing with Fedex from now on, on principle. read more

I've been selling on Amazon for about five years. I've been shipping with UPS for the last 5 years. about 2 years ago I found out that ups can pick up your package from your house for a really cheap price (i used to have to drop off my packages). i usually ship about 15 packages (50bls 16'12'12'). I was working out of my basement and it wasn't enough for me to work there anymore so I got a warehouse next town over. so I changed the address on my account from my basement to my warehouse and all shit just changed. I set up my usual pick up like I was doing for about 2 years at that point and the driver gave me such a hard time I would never use ups again. he didn't want to come to my location although he comes to my building every single day he refused to come to pick up my packages. He wanted me to take them into his truck he claims that there too heavy and his too tired to be doing this shit he was cussing at me and after a week of waiting he came and took half of my packages and left the rest. I called and complained but no one seems to care. I'm a union they can do shit to me fcuk that I'm not taking your shit after 10 days of waiting and speaking to multiple supervisors they sent me a different drive which was super nice I wish I remembered his name. he made my day. I just tried to make this story short but if yelp allowed me I would give-ups 0 stars. I spoke to many people most were in India and the once that were here in the USA were all rude and they wonder why they keep giving away job overseas. read more

I am very dissapointed with UPS- they claim they "lost my package" and that I have to file a claim. This was after the tracking said that it was in East Boston, then Watertown, and then South Boston. I live in the North End, and my package did the run around everywhere but to my door. The sad part is that I asked to have it shipped overnight to me, arrival date of a Saturday, and there were no attempts made Monday or Tuesday. Either an employee stole my package or they "lost" it and are now making me pick up their pieces. I have tried calling and emailing and all of the people I have corresponded with give pathetic responses, no reasons, no excuses, no compensation, just the sad sound in their voice that they must hate their job and dealing with customers calling up to complain about the UPS company they are employed at. This place has by far the most horrible customer service I have ever experienced. With the exception of one person everyone who works here is completely incompetent and rude. One lady hung up on me as I was trying to ask a question. To make it worse, they have no direct phone number. You have to call UPS and then the center will call you back within the hour (that is if they feel like it). This makes solving any problem extremely difficult as both call centers pretty much just direct you back to one another. When I missed my package, I decided to pick it up at the center that night. I called them and they said it was fine. I asked where the center is and they told me it was right next to South Station, which I guess it is if your definition of "right next to" is taking a long bus ride and then walking for 25 minutes. So I decided to just have the package redelivered (which took 3 phone calls and several hours). I planned on going into work late and waiting for the package, but when 2:00 rolled around I called them and they told me that they received a request at 4:50 that morning to hold it again. I still can't decide whether I believe that they had a computer error or whether they were just trying to ruin my day, Anyways, I will never again use UPS unless I absolutely have to. Never before have I felt so much rage towards one company. I would gladly pay more to use any other service. read more

I hate UPS. I'm not sure why I bother to buy anything online when I have to drive to the customer service center to pick up my packages every time. I live in a condo building with a mailroom. There is a callbox outside the mailroom. The driver will just leave slips on the door next to the call box and not bother to actually call me to see if I'm home. I don't want to sign the slip because the driver might come back when I"m not home and leave the package outside our building on a busy street. Is it that hard to call up to my unit?? I have called multiple times to try and give specific instructions to a driver to just use the callbox and call me because I'M HOME WAITING FOR MY PACKAGE, but instead they just leave the slip and force me to drive down to the facility -- which doesn't even open until noon. read more

Missed the first shipment on Monday, made sure to be home the next evening. They never show. Crickets. Check in on Thursday morning, they say it is probably lost. Check the tracking, says I refused the shipment. Call the center. They say the box is damaged. Check the tracking, says the label is illegible, then back on the truck for delivery. It's Friday night now, it hasn't gotten here, and they say it may be lost again. What good is the tracking if it is inaccurate? Terrible. There is no communication between customer service and the delivery drivers. I called UPS customer service around 2PM and they told me they would reschedule a package I missed (due to their error) to be delivered again later on the same day. I asked when I should expect the delivery driver and was given the vague answer "whenever he gets around to coming back and finishing his other deliveries". Alright, that's fair. However, after waiting 6 hours (so now it is 8PM) then I begin to get frustrated. I call customer service again, and when I'm finally connected to a real person they tell me all they know is that there is a note that the driver was going to redeliver the package later that day. They had no idea if the package was still going to be delivered today and no idea where the delivery driver was with no way to contact the driver. I am only giving one star for the fact that Sheena and Kenia on the customer care team were responsive and gave me ANY information pertaining to my issue. Otherwise, I had a scheduled pick up for 8/19 in which I received a call at 8:31pm from the driver that he was here. I met him downstairs with my package and he was not able to provide a receipt. He left with the package at about 8:40pm (which is all shown on camera). It is now Monday and NO ONE knows where my package is. It does not have an official shipping label (which the UPS reps said was no problem and that the driver would provide this along with a receipt) so as Kenia said was protocol, it should have been left at 647B Summer St. Additionally, the first rep I spoke to verbally confirmed with me that it was located there on Friday and that I could pick it up Monday. Today however, Kenia told me she doesn't know how they could've told me that because there is no record of it being there. Additionally, NO ONE could confirm it was there, and the driver claimed he never picked up the package. No one could give me DIRECT contact information and I had to push to receive the truck number. The truck's supervisor is supposed to be contacting me tomorrow to help out but I have no faith that they're actually looking. I will give them 2 days and then will be filing an official complaint etc. This is absolutely unacceptable! At this point, I just want to come pick up the package (assuming they ACTUALLY FIND IT) myself and will go elsewhere to get it sent to where I need it to go. read more

After waiting through the long line, my wife gets to the person at the at the desk and is met with silence forcing her to initiate the conversation. "I have a package to pick up." Silence. "My name is Sara Watkins." He finally responds with, "That don't do me no good." As if she's an idiot for thinking an earth bound company like UPS has the technology to index package information by a person's name. After some coaxing, he finally let's us know he can find the package with the address. She gives the address and he disappears for a few minutes. He returns. "What's the address again?" "70 West St." He disappears for 5 more minutes and then returns. "What's the st number?" "70" "Seven Zero?" "Yes" He disappears for 5 minutes. He returns and then asks her...wait for it... FOR HER NAME!! We give it to him. He disappears for 5 minutes. "Do you have a tracking number?" We do. We give it to him on a piece of paper. He disappears for 5 minutes and returns with the tracking number, but no package. He disappears for a few more minutes. "Can I have the tracking number again?" Disappears. Returns with tracking number and no package. "Do you have a slip?" "I never got a slip." This is because the UPS person didn't actually try to deliver the package. Disappears. Returns with women who seems more intelligent and asks again for the tracking number. We give it to her. She disappears for 10-15 minutes. During this time, we're watching several similar situations unfold all around us. One woman, for instance, was complaining loudly about how she was called and told she could pick up a package at 6:30 (it was 7:20). They informed her that UPS doesn't call people to tell them to pick up packages (which they do, by the way). She was eventually told it will be ready to pick up at 8:30. Our other women did eventually return and we made it out in under an hour. When we were leaving I actually felt some customer anger directed at us, because we were one of the lucky ones. read more

I'm always chasing after the UPS delivery guy. It's kind of a game, he would ring my doorbell, slap an InfoNotice on the front door, and run back to his van and try to drive away quickly, while I race down the stairs and try to catch him before he leaves. Well this week he won, as I had a busy work week and couldn't play this game well. He made it difficult for me to predict his next move by not specifying the time range for the next delivery attempt on the InfoNotice. Actual attempted delivery times: 2 pm, 8 pm, and 5 pm, wild ranges! Finally I tried to call UPS to hold the package but they said it was too late, they send packages back to the sender after 7 pm. Funny thing is that the website didn't update to say the third and final attempt was made until 7:30 pm, so there was no way I could have called to hold the package based on notifications. Also when I called and asked if they could send a note to the driver or their South Boston station to hold the package, the operator said derisively that the sender only paid for UPS Ground without adding a sticker for the better service "Delivery Confirmation option." So basically UPS as a company admittedly said they offer a Shit Service Tier. Totally makes sense, since their company color is a lovely shit shade of brown. If I had a company I'd be embarrassed to offer such a service. Even with economy service I would still offer the minimum acceptable level of customer service. What Can Brown Do for You?
