Fourteen thousand dollars later and we are unimpressed with the staging and entire experience. Recommended by our broker of course but our instincts were to go with Bella Casa based upon website images and word of mouth. On the day of staging, my husband and I were dropping off closet materials, husband was in the room upstairs when Robyn made a huge deal to me instructing us to leave and stating we were not allowed to be in the house at all. We had no idea that was some kind of rule. She was very unpleasant but insisted she would text us the next day for a final walkthrough and never did. I wasn't surprised but after having to pay fourteen grand, we thought that was super uncool and unprofessional. She obviously knew we would have taken issue with many poor choices she made and instead bypassed us and had her friend/broker do the walk through instead. We, the owners had to pay this fourteen thousand dollar over priced/under delivered staging NOT the broker! But, we went into the house a few days later to find a hole popped into the stucco wall going up the left side of the staircase. We were less than thrilled with the fact that on the front deck of our three million dollar Mediterranean home, off of the front door that was designed for two benches, she placed only one by the front door when there is and was the proper spacing for two benches given the length of the Mediterranean front deck. The back deck has two exit doors and she only managed to put one door mat not two. We anticipated warm, creamy Santa Barbara/ Santa Fe neutral colors more modern and less dated and aged type of furniture fitting for a nursing home. Again, animal fur rugs in our Spanish home just seemed so tacky. The use of black furniture evidenced by a black mirror in the dining room; black chairs in the backyard; black umbrella by the pool, etc...just made no sense! We have walked through thousands of staged open houses over our lifetime in high end homes and have been blown away by staging. We expected the same with our own home paying fourteen thousand dollars for a three month contract. Madness!!! This is my opinion of course knowing that what an owner likes is different from potential buyers visualizing the space to live in. But with dated Brady Bunch era type furniture-it seems to do this Spanish/Mediterranean home an injustice. There is a brick step down deck off the living room that literally has zero plants or any staging on the deck-it looks so stark and cold. The pool gate that separates the grass area and the pool side is blocked by over populated lounge chairs obstructing entry to the pool. Just makes no sense. Bella Casa wasn't much more in cost and they seem to think outside of the box. Most importantly, always go with a larger company that has the inventory to support a fourteen thousand and above price tag-you get better pieces and a more experienced stager willing to make changes on the fly. The worst was really the way we were treated in our own home and not standing by her word to do a walkthrough the next day. I would not recommend this company at all. So disappointing. Again, even if the argument is made that we are overly critical of our own home, it looks nothing like the staging we have observed in numerous high end homes over a decade of viewing other homes. It's only fair to assume our home would knock it out of the park for a fourteen thousand dollar bill. That's a ton of money and this staging fell short for sure. I can't get past the animal print rugs in our 1920's Mediterranean home, beyond tacky-I hope potential buyers look past the poor staging choices. My gut, my husband's gut was to pick Bella Casa, but when your broker is friend's with the stager and pushes for that choice to be made, it makes things super uncomfortable and unfair to the seller who is paying the fourteen thousand, not the broker! Seller beware of this company and of Robyn. Please proceed with tremendous caution as we are paying the ultimate price and many have agreed with our assessment of her. read more
