The Salted Caramel Lager is great here! The proprietors have 12 of their own beers that they can in a crowler (32 oz), which is half a growler. Another 12 are on tap afrom local brewers. I'm taking a crowler of the Salted Caramel Lager with me. Bright corner store front taps are inviting and clean, although the new concrete bar surface, finished with bees wax, needs to be stripped of the grime that has accumulated near the edge of the bar. read more

Great tasting beer! We're coming back real soon. Love the swag: from holders and holsters for your beer to hats with the cool logo to art! Lots to look at: love the mementos (California Raisins - omg! And photographs. The bottles and the framed art which are the bottle labels. I liked the flip menus which contained info about each beer AND THEN I checked out the Viewmasters which presented the same stuff in a different format - neato! Lots to do: sample drinks, drink, eat, play arcade games (even pinball), play board games, socialize. Service: excellent, friendly. Great craft brewery! Nice place to hangout with friends and play their assorted board games . The new menu they launched is amazingly assorted. I've had the charcuterie, cubano sandwich , baba ganouche and the mussells. The rhuby social is a personal favorite. Make sure to pick up a grunt on your way out to bring their beer home. read more

I swung by Upstreet Craft Brewing during my (very) short stay in PEI recently. On a weeknight relatively late, there were barely any folks around - just a few locals who were finishing off the night and had been around for a while. That said, everyone, including the folks tending bar, were quite friendly and engaging (and somewhat surprised that someone from NYC had decided to come visit). The beer selection is pretty straightforward; there are about 10 beers or so on tap, with the standard beers available for takeout in cans from the fridge next to the bar. The prices are pretty reasonable for a pint; alternatively, you can get a flight of 4 beers to sample as well. I went with all the IPAs on-hand (a white IPA, a more citrus/fruity IPA, and a hazy New England-style version), as well as the stout (I added a pale ale for kicks at the end as well). I enjoyed 'White Noize' (the white IPA) the best; even though my experience with this style is that it's usually a bit lighter than most IPAs, with a mouthfeel and finish more akin to a saison or a Belgian wit, this one was a bit more full-bodied. The other IPAs were okay but nothing terribly special; the same went for the standard pale ale as well. The stout was interesting - for a sub-5% ABV beer, it had a pretty decent body to it, and it's a nicer dark beer for enjoying if you're looking for a stout that isn't too heavy. I wouldn't mind stopping by in the future, and with a decent amount of seating in a very spacious area, Upstreet is an enjoyable spot to knock back some of the cool ones that they brew. That said, I would probably try to come back when some of their more interesting seasonal varietals are available (e.g. their barrel-aged rye beer sounds like it could be quite delicious). read more

I recently finished a cruise from Montreal to Boston stopping in Canada/Nova Scotia/Maine along the way. You get bored of all the typical sites so I started seeking out the micro breweries. I found this one with my trusty Yelp App! There is no uber in this town yet so I burned some calories and walked to this place. It is about a 20-30min walk from the cruise ships depending how fast you walk. This place was super legit. Super friendly staff, a newish well maintained building and lobby. They even have games to play and free wifi. After you are done here there is PEI brewery which seemed to me a much larger operation about another 20-30 min walk away. read more

Really cool place. Nice atmosphere. I came in as a tourist, and felt like I really tapped into the local vibe of the town. It's a bit out of the way, not downtown near the touristy parts, but well worth a visit. Tried some of the local brew in small tasting glasses, found the one for me and got a pint, with 1$ off by checking into Yelp. They have some games, and lots of locals seem to come in groups. You can get large refillable bottles too. Very groovy! We tried a local dish from the food menu - scalloped potatoes - thin slices of potato drowning in butter and cheese. So good! I really recommend this place for anyone. read more

This craft brewery is amazing!!! Strawberry rhubarb beer?! Pumpkin ale on nitro?! A very solid session ale (Commons)?! Cold brew coffee on nitro?! Locally made beef jerky in a cone shape?! And flights?! And open late?! And saw a fox just outside of the building?! YES PLEASE. Go here, have a beer, play mega jenga or talk to the amazing bartenders. As a side note, they're labels are great & they got merch! I found out that they're done by one of the band members of Wintersleep. Small world... but a good one.... read more

Absolutely TERRIBLE service. After a 15 minute wait for a server to approach us to ask if we wanted a drink, we ordered a Grilled Cheese sandwich. We have now been waiting 40 minutes and still no sign of the Grilled Cheese. read more

I was served a sample of chemical cleaner from the tap. Accidental or not this should not have happened. I was told they were cleaning the keg lines and didnt rinse it out. I wasnt able to get an answer of wether or not the chemical is dangerous or not if i should be concerned or seek medical treatment. I will be contacting the food inspection agency about his careless service read more

My friend and I shared a smoked meat sandwich, a blt, and roasted mixed vegetables. The chef brought the food to the table which was great because he gave us a wonderful explanation of things. -The smoked meat was brined for 3 days and rubbed before being smoked for 8 hours and then braised for 24 hours. -The bacon on the blt was also cured for almost 2 weeks with malt from their beer and double smoked for 10 hours. -The roasted vegetables were amazing and such a great selection with Brussel sprouts, candy cane beets, roasted fennel, red potatoes, mushrooms, garlic, leeks, broccoli, cauliflower, kale and cabbage. A lively place to enjoy a afternoon or evening. I give it 4, because although the food is above average I wouldn't say it's amazing either. We ventured here looking for their East Coast Craft Soda which we loved after trying their blueberry cream soda flavour at a local restaurant. We ended up staying for an early dinner. Not sure who this Brewery is catering to. University students I guess. There are three tables that seat 8 each as we looked for a place to sit there were 2 people sitting at each. We were going to sit and have food and a drink but didn't want to sit with strangers. Two other people left before us for the same reason and two followed us for the same as well. I felt bad so I gave the place a call and talked to a day manager. Who was less than concerned. It's nice to see new businesses thrive so the following day I called and talked to an owner. Told him also the tables that seat 8 aren't practical nor are back less bar stool tables that give you no place for your jacket or my girlfriends purse. The owners response was "is there anything else I'm busy" so I gave up. You know you can always put tables together for large groups even smaller tables with only a little room between them feel more inviting than sitting with strangers. It's sad to see in the time I was there so many turned away and the owners don't care. No stars. read more
