Should have never chosen this place for my daughter's Quince versus other venues. The owner complained about my specific requests to have a seated dinner over a buffet. The parking sucks as you have to park on a dirt lot across the street! The owner Sonya is rude and looks angry all the time. Lady you should not be present for any event. We had our son and daughter-in-law's wedding reception at Uptown Ballroom. It may not be much to look at from the street, but once you are inside, it is a very nice venue. The dance floor with tables on the sides is roomy and the table linen choices are nice - lots of colors to choose from. The food was really good and the servers made everything happen. Bobby, the owner, was very accommodating and let us move things around however we wanted. We were able to get in the day before to assemble the flowers and decorate an arbor to go over the cake table. He was also there for the entire event making sure everything went as planned and was helpful in making the reception flow well. We all had a great time! read more

I had my wedding here at the Uptown Ballroom.It was not only flawlessly beautiful but Bob the owner is phenomenal!! He takes care of every detail and has been doing it so long he knew exactly what I was trying to relay to him. Class and elegance. He also had the hook up for other vendors if necessary. The food is amazing and all of that comes with the package. Which is priced very well. This location is perfect and he also provides security for the event. First of all I would like to say thank you to Bob, "thank you so much Bob for being patient and helping us make our daughter's party possible" We had our party schedule for February 2020 but due to personal reasons we had to schedule to June 2020, Bob was very understanding and moved our event to our new date. Covid shutdowns happened in March so we couldn't proceed with our party. Through this uncertainty we stayed positive and we were finally able to make our daughter's party, although instead of a quinceañera it was now a sweet 16. To make this review short and straight to the point we had an amazing event. We had amazing servers, delicious food catered by Uptown Ballroom vendors, the event hall is beautiful so I didn't have to worry too much about extra fees to decorate. During the preparation time Bob always checked in with us to make sure we had the vendors we need. During the night of the event Bob was present making sure we had a smooth outcome. He pretty much took care of us through the preparation and final night. I have so many positive things to say and I highly recommend this event hall for anyone's next event. My experience of this place was very upsetting, the owner was very rude and is unprofessional in the beginning, the owner said, a lower price over the phone, but it had increased way more once we got in person. 2 days before the event I went to bring most of my decorations for the party but the owner made the place look like nothing I asked for. Lastly, the event, the owner was being a little creepy, he kept trying to open the door and knocking so many times while the girl was getting dressed and he just kept watching everyone I was thinking to myself, I paid you all this money for u to still be inside the event, there was security as well so I do not see the problem. Me and my wife came down to Sacramento from LOS ANGELES to attend our oldest daughters wedding. We had the wedding and reception at the venue. With a party of around 100 individuals. Let me start by saying the owner Bobby was very respectful and attentive to our needs, very down to earth might I add. We had Security the whole time, Officer ROBERT was very professional and courteous. Security is not as easy as it seems I know because I worked in security for 18yrs and had my own security company for 5 years. I said that to say; I know what the job entails and ROBERT handled his position very well. He communicated with guest and family in a way to make them feel comfortable and not feeling like they were being policed while at the same time being firm and getting the job done. The there was Dick the bartender who was very cool guy who I had the pleasure of conversing with momentarily. He also was well groomed and very professional. I brought my own drink, separate from what others were drinking and he mixed and managed my drinks very well. My daughter and son in law had a ball and so did we the parents and all of our family and friends. While everyone's experience is different, our experience was one to remember and if ever I'm in need of a venue in Sac and Uptown Ballroom is available, I will definitely book it (no questions asked) read more

Bobby was easy to work with he was always a call or a text away, he managed to handle our requests at a moments notice. Location: at first the location looks a little "iffy" but once you enter the building it's a different story. The inside of this venue offered beautiful lighting, plenty of room for dancing, Linens, all table ware included! Food, was amazing! We had the Mexican menu Carnitas and Chicken fajitas with rice, beans and chips. Everyone loved the food ooh and Salsa! 4servers were provided and one bartender. I had set an appointment to view this location, and the person I was in contact with even verified that he had added it to their calendar. I got out of work early, drove 30 minutes through traffic to get there, and when I arrived, the person was not there. I called to see what was going on, and he told me that he could not make it. He said he was "going to call me to let me know he couldn't make it, but didn't". He asked me if I was available to meet the next day, but I have no interest in making business with this venue. The reason I have no interest in making business with this venue is because I would hate to have something like this happen on my wedding day. This place was great for us. We rented the ballroom, tables, plates, flatware, napkins, DJ, and waiters. (We brought in our own catering and wooden folding chairs.) This place is beautiful inside. The neighborhood isn't great. But it's more affordable than other venues in Sac (we hosted 150 guests)! Bobby is friendly and always replied to us. The DJ was fine but not special. I got married on 01-22-2011 at The Uptown Ballroom. After a somewhat stressful 7 months of planning everything turned out beautiful. The owner Bobby and his assistant, Hayley made it a night to remember. Bobby was a bit difficult to work with throughout planning and sometimes made me feel as though he didn't care about my wedding, but his assistant beginning with Maggie and eventually ending with Hayley made me feel comfortable and important. I would have another event there if one came along and hopefully he can learn to be a little more sympathetic and understanding. The venue is beautiful there are a lot of options to choose from for decorations. However not very professional, rehearsals are not included in certain packages. The owner is not easy to work with, showed the venue to potential customers as we were in the middle of rehearsals. They had an event the night before rehearsals and did not clean prior to our rehearsal time. The included glass wear is limited to water glasses only. Be VERY SPECIFIC with every detail and question. I was really upset with this Bobby owner he knew that there was an event going on and they took all the parking. When we put down a deposit and signed paperwork with this dude he was freaking nice I told him my party is about 80 to 100 people. He told me no worries everything will be taking care. The day before my party he told my cousin we have to provide everything for the DJ which he told us oh we have everything for DJ all we need is the person to DJ. The microphone didn't work at all. He extra charged me for 4 extra tables and gave us $50 out of $300 deposit. This dude is full of shit do not plan your event at this place. I tried to call and texted him because my daughter left her money envelope on her table at the party but don't reply or answer my calls. Paying this much amount for the headaches I been through with this owner. Do not sign any paperwork or give him deposit unless you know for sure this is right place. Our ceremony and wedding reception was amazing because of Sonja and all the staff. The service was impeccable! It goes without saying that the space is breathtaking, but when you combine that with outstanding service, excellent food, and reasonable prices, you know you have something special!
