Needed a haircut on a Sunday and they were open. The guy was nice but I don't think any men's haircut is worth 40 dollars. Not to mention it took 45 minutes and he was 10 minutes behind for our appointment. Paid with a card and funny enough on top of the 40 the tip options were $8 and up! Thoroughly unimpressed. If you're looking for a great barber checkout stumpfs barbershop in cassville,MO. He charges $16 and can do any type of haircut in 15 minutes or less walkins only first come first serve and he's consistent every time. May be a further drive but the experience is well worth it and you save the fuel expense in the service. I don't know how uptown is in business. read more

This place is more than a barbershop. The atmosphere is amazing. And shout out to my barber, Shugg. He keeps the beard on point.

I would like to preface by saying that the gentleman that did my cut was incredibly nice and very professional. He did a great job shaping my beard and took his time to make sure it was even. The only reason I am not putting five stars is because when I got home, I noticed that there was still hair below my neck line he had missed as well a spots he had missed on the upper part of my cheeks. Noting too hard to clean up myself, but when your paying $20, plus tip to get your beard cleaned up, you'd like to have gotten everything covered. Cool place with great guys! I've been here a couple of times and had haircuts from Mike. Not only does he clearly discuss hair, length, style, and understand what you'd like, he also gives suggestions and explains what he is doing. It is very comfortable at Uptown Barber Lounge where the guys make you feel at home! In addition, Mike is hilarious and even better is a family man who gives back to the community. I'm in town for business and needed my dome fuzz trimmed up. I couldn't of picked a better place then Uptown! Not impressed at all! New to the area and took my two boys here for a cut after reading the reviews. The shop is nice and hip with friendly barbers but the quality of the cuts they received was very disappointing. My 16 year old was so upset when we left he asked if he could buy a ball cap on the way home. This was unfortunate as he had several big social events that week he had to attend and this haircut added to his stress. Unfortunately not enough time for it to grow out. I don't know what this barber was thinking but it's not at all what my son had in mind or tried to describe what he wanted. It wasn't a style I had ever seen on a teenage boy unless they were going to bootcamp and didn't have a choice. Both of the cuts had long strands/patches of hair that had been missed. I have no professional training as a barber but have cut their hair for years and can fade better than they did. Very amateurish cuts and paid for what should have been a nice quality haircut. I was hoping they would style it a little or at least run a comb with water through it. I clearly didn't get the barbers that got these great reviews We were in and out in 10-15 minutes and was surprised they were done that quick. There were two guys getting cuts when we walked in and were still getting worked on when we left. Those are the barbers we should've scheduled with as I could see they were taking their time and meticulous with their cuts. I won't go back to this place but would recommend to schedule with one of these better barbers. It's a mix of barbers so don't go in blindly or you may be disappointed. read more

Bad haircut, rude owner. Wanted to inject political discourse into my 15 minute cut. Not what I wanted.

As a recent and temporary transplant to Bentonville from the East coast, I was worried about finding a barber that I could trust with my rapidly disappearing and thus increasingly valuable hairs. Based on reviews here, I chose to trust Mike at Uptown Barber Lounge and was not disappointed. I'm headed out of town, and Mike went the extra mile to fit me in to his packed schedule. He took the time to understand what I wanted, and gave some specific advice. Finding we were aligned on the mission, I let him do his thing, and it came out the best haircut I've had in recent memory. Impressive attention to detail throughout, and even covers the beard as part of the standard package. First class cut, chill guy, great attitude -- can't go wrong. The place has a cool vibe, but more importantly they do a great job cutting hair and trimming beards. I had let both my hair and beard go for several months. I called for an appointment at 8am on a Friday and was able to book an appointment for later that same day, your results may vary, obviously. Daniel did a great job. Y'all ok so my experience is half my fault half the guy's fault. So I asked for a one and a four which was my bad because I don't actually know how to ask for a haircut. I blame my father. Anyways so before the cut, the guy is like "Do you want me to clean up your hairline" or something like that. And I'm like "Yeah sure" thinking he's going to go around my hairline cleaning up stray hairs. No, that's not what he did. He gave me a new hairline. Y'all I'm so upset!!!!! I can still see the little hair remnants of my old hairline. So then I tell him "Hey I don't want a dome shape cause then when it grows out it looks like a mushroom." I still got a dome shape, but again that might be my fault. Anyways my hair looks gross, I look fatter than usual, and I cried on the way home. Like I actually shed tears. So yeah, I hate myself for not knowing how to know how to ask for a haircut, I hate the guy who cut my hair, and yeah. It's like 2 a.m. and I'm feeling melodramatic so I hoped this helped someone. Here is what I love about Uptown: they don't need to woo you in to a "man cave" setting with drinks and flashy ads like some other places. They offer a cool vibe and a perfect haircut, that's all I really need. I found Uptown through a charity event at my workplace and was impressed enough to visit their A street location. Another great thing is Uptown embraces modern technology. I was in quick need of a haircut, checked out their Facebook page and it showed they had some openings and offered a number to text to fill one of the openings. I like that. No chasing down barbers or stopping by just to be turned away. I know when I can get a cut, I know it's going to be a good cut, and I know who I need to get in touch with to get that cut. Uptown Barber Lounge as a whole is a pretty cool place. I really liked the style of the place and they are for sure a busy place or so it seems. I had to call the day before to book an appointment which was fine and put my name down for a hair trim and a beard trim which he confirmed wouldn't be a problem and scheduled me with a "Dapper Dave". Being new to the area and the fact that this place was recommended by a few people I was stoked to be able to get a new barber. But I was wrong. I went in for my appointment and told mr dapper that I just wanted a trim which shouldn't have been hard, little did I know. Since Dave didn't face me to a mirror until the end I couldn't fully tell how much he was cutting until the end in which come to find he didn't trim, this dude nearly cut off all my hair, not only that mr dapper couldn't even cut even because one side was longer than the other in random spots and patchy. Once at the end he then tells me he can't trim my beard because not only did he not have time (mind you there wasn't a single person waiting to get cut) he said that I hadn't booked a beard trim (which I had confirmed the day before) I am super bummed that Dave did such a bad job. Otherwise the place looks cool and other people I know go there often I would just warn that if Dave is cutting your hair you should run. read more
