I'll start off by saying that I've never tried selling my items in a store since I use online selling platforms, so I have no insight on that aspect of Uptown Cheapskate. Hubs and I do frequent this location though to look for good deals on VERY lightly used clothing/shoes. The store is easy to navigate, however the isles can get crowded if there are more than a couple people down an aisle and especially if even one person has a shopping cart. It makes it nearly impossible to pass them. If you have a shopping cart then good luck trying to push through people (beep beep!). I have found a few clothing items here that are brand new or NWOT (new without tags) condition. Those are the types of clothes I look for. I just recently bought a pair of like new Nike Roshes for around $20 - the exact thing I was thinking of buying online for almost $100! They also have new boutique style clothes/brands like Piko that are probably overstock from a store. Hubs doesn't have much of an opinion on the men's sections since he just likes to browse. He has raised his eyebrows at a few things like a couple pairs of shoes or a jersey. He's never liked anything enough to buy it. He's more picky than I am!! Overall, it's a good store with good prices. Most prices are competitive while others are a little too high (I'm looking at you jewelry!). We'll keep stopping by looking for deals! :) read more

Like yesterday I got a text that mix and match 3 for $25 on shorts and tanks BUT I get there they tell me it's only denim shorts and woven shorts and tank tops !!! That's not cool!!! Everything in the Acworth location looks so used. The young ladies working and choosing what to purchase look disheveled- pajama clad- sloppy, unclean and the last people id choose to dicrate what is fashionable. thats why they told us on arrival that they have too much inventory and may only buy 3 items. i brpught Mother Jeans and Kate Spade - these pajama clad ungroomed young ladies passed. When I tell you, I made a Yelp account, to leave my first ever review, specifically for this place. I came in to sell two boxes of quality items. I was told that it would be an hour wait and I had to stay in the store so I looked around for a while and tried some things on. The employees were high school students at best which would be fine normally but they all had "mean girl" attitudes. The employees acted very annoyed when I asked for a fitting room and overall did not have a warm approach. I waited for 1.5 hours, they called my name and keep in mind the boxes I brought had been in my garage but the clothes were clean and folded. They told me AFTER I WAITED almost 2hrs, that the clothes had bugs, the employee basically yelled this and treated me like I was trash, I asked where a bug was and she said ON THE LID THERE WAS A DEAD SPIDER, ON THE LID!!! So they did not look at any of my items because of that. At first I was nice but then I did ask if there is a way to avoid wasting 2hrs of my day just to be turned away because a little dead spider mad it's way onto my container, the employees were just rude and kept stating that they cannot take clothes with bugs and the whole experience really upset me and made me feel dirty. this place is a JOKE. I took in two Burberry shirts along with a princess polly dress WITH TAGS STILL ATTACHED. I paid $250 for. they only gave me $5 for the dress. didn't even take the Burberry. secondly , I had a a bronco flannel from target I paid $35 for , they only gave me 2 bucks for it. never worn that either. the guy at the register was absolutely rude. attitude, tone, everything. I told him I needed to run to kroger for somethings and I would be back , he stated it was policy to wait in the store . I'm sorry but I'm not waiting in a small store with my toddler for 45- 1 hour, let alone with nowhere to sit. absolutely worst experience I've ever had. When I say this from observation and experience, Me a white person, I observed the sheer racism and prejudice of this store and the employees. Not only that, I went and every single time i went and tried on clothes and went home i contracted Impetigo. The store is unsanitary, the workers are rude and racist, and The mangers and Owner are awful as well. If you see the google reviews the owner practically responds with a sugar coated "idc" to every piece of negative review. I brought in two big boxes of new clothes, new shoes, and new purses. I only brought in High end or name brand clothing, after looking through my clothes and throwing my brand new with tags $80 a piece items in the floor, throwing others in the bag, one of the workers hiding a jacket for herself, and them snickering and taking only 27 items and then left the rest in shambles in the floor after i brought them in all neat clean and folded. I was livid but still showed respect because retail is a lot of work at times. They offered $65 for 27 NEW WITH TAGS items and A new COACH purse... I think it is safe to say i will not be going back and i do not recommend anyone else to be supporting their store. On top of everything the clothes they claim to donate... yeah thats a lie... i donated some clothes the first time i sold to them and the very next week i saw them on the sales floor. I came in to sell my clothes she took 30 min just to look at my bag and when she did they didn't take anything. She barely looks at the quality of the clothes. She didn't want to talk to me because i am black so she sent the black girl over to me saying that they don't take clothes from walmart and Shein cause they don't sell. I bought from this location and had no problems.. so I decided I would try to sell some items to them. NEVER AGAIN!!! They hid some of the items they bought from me I did not see a pair of shoes that was supposedly in the box when I reviewed it. I would not have went that low for all of those designer items. Absolutely the worst selling experience ever! The so called " manager" Gina " helped" me and offered the worst customer service I've ever experienced. She was rude, condescending and treated me like I was wasting her time. I attempted to sell some very nice items In great shape just because I'm cleaning out my closet and she only offered $37 total for a leather Kate spade tote valued at over $300 and a Rebecca minkoff crossbody that was barely worn! She denied my attempt to sell an authentic LV alma bag that had a few minor stains in the interior as well. Despite her reasonings to not accept my items and low ball me she sucked as a person and if she had caught me on the right day she would've been told about herself right there in the store. The young lady Alexis who works there was nice and acted more as a manager than Gina! Tip to ownership- hire new people to be the face of your brand! The manager comes off as if she has a problem helping minorities and should not be there. Btw- a Caucasian woman entered the store shortly after me and received a warm welcome and smiles. The employees are racist. I am African American nobody spoke to me until I approached them with a question. Absolutely no hello and no god bye have a nice day even tho I hear it being spoken to other customers. But it really was important to just a hindsight revelation. I was interested in but a football Jersey From 1998. As I collect Jersey I was very excited. On inspection I realized the the Jersey was not Authentic. The price was the same as the Jersey's on the mannequin. I approached the counter and asked about the Jersey price and explained the issue. The employees said nothing, me and another customer looked at each other(white women) then looked back to her still silence. I said "ok guess I'll put the Jersey back?" This provoked a response. This uptown if ok. I took a lot of my name brand clothes including ties, shirts of all types and they chose to buy nothing from me after asking me to wait in the store during the buy. They took forever to get to my bin of clothes and turned everything down. I bought a pair of polo boots anyway cause I liked them and a hat for my 11 year old. Go here if you like it when the young salesclerk forgets to return a bag of your stuff when you come back and then says you have to come back to the store the same day. Selling experience was really awful I was really taken a back at what happened. This store used to be a lot better but now it's super judgmental and I even wanna add to a previous review they do prefer a certain race for sure.... I went there to sell some clothing that was washed and stored in my garage for a few months so they had accumulated some dust. The clothing was in great shape nevertheless they weren't DIRTY. I show up and they were very rude about me signing in trying to rush me. She tells me it will be an hour wait and I must wait in the store so I sit down and not even ten minutes later they call my name? (Lol what happened to an hour until they even look at my clothing) the lady tells me that not only are some of my clothes dirty BUT ALSO THEY ARE INSIDE OUT LIKE WHATTTTTT. I'm being serious legitimately they told me one of the issues is that the clothing was INSIDE OUT. OK? WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH THE QUALITY? And let me tell you I had brought ALOT of clothes one of those big black plastic bags worth and they denied the whole batch because it was inside out and not organized. The laziness of these workers is outstanding I've never had a worker actually admit how lazy they are and deny me. everyone else with inside out clothing got in though, idk why I was treated badly maybe I just didn't look as preppy as them. Your odds of getting a staff member here who is kind and helpful are about 2 out of 10. The majority of the employees are rude and disinterested. Consigning clothes here is an uncomfortable experience due to poor communication and employees who behave as though you're putting them out to do their jobs. Normally I really like places like this, the store layout is good, great items for sale, but their customer service sucks. Entering the store feels like walking into a conversation where you're decidedly *not* welcome and it has everything to do with the staff. Not an awesome shopping experience. I found some really amazing gems here. Including Patagonia shorts for $10 and American eagle shorts for $2.50. Some stuff can be just as expensive as retail though, so you really have to dig. However, something that really shocked me was while in the dressing room i heard two employees talking about customers saying how "cheap they were" and "if your clothes are shitty were not buying them" and a bunch of other things of that nature. Well you have to realize that at stores like this you're never going to make the big bucks, but i would say this is the most fair compared to others around (platos, etc.) i would totally recommend Uptown. They are fast, go through your items quickly, and are fair... got $50 bucks for extremely good items which is fair for clothes that just sit in the closet otherwise! read more

I stopped in one evening to ask about your policies re: bringing clothes etc., and the young lady who worked the counter was very polite and sweet. A day or two later I brought in a few things during the day. Another woman worked there. I am a sr. citizen and she looked at me as if I was something the cat dragged in. I am clean and I dress well. She took the bag of clothing as though I had handed her a dirty diaper. She picked through them threw them in the bag and said, "We can't use your clothes...and we only take high end purses". I had bought these at Stein Mart and no, they were not several hundreds of dollars. She could have told me basically the same thing, but with a little class! All I can say is, "She may like expensive things, but she'd better get herself an old and desperate Sugar Daddy who will keep her in style. I will never go into that shop again. I used to go here all the time and loved it. Now , the prices for the items are WAY too high for USED clothing/items. Also , my last visit I went to sell some of my clothing. Some things were new and the other stuff worn once or twice. Everything i was trying to sell was in style , cute , and i hate to say but better than most of the stuff they were selling in the store already. They took NOTHING but said they would "donate it". I will not be going back. It's supposed to be affordable and cute stuff in there but nothing was worth it. I used to shop here quite a lot but for some reason they started spraying this scent in the store. It's so overwhelming that you can smell it before you even enter the store. Wouldn't recommend to anyone over 20 or anyone with a real job. The clothes they buy/sell are worn out. If you want to sell anything that won;t make another human look like a bum from the streets of Atlanta, do yourself a favor and head to Cillies in West Cobb or Uptown Cheapskate in Woodstock. The staff will tell you that nothing you brought can be bought due to "inventory" yet you won't see many of the items you brought to sell, on the floor. Very friendly employees. Great place to buy any name brand clothing for cheap prices. Everything is in great condition. From the men's clothes to the women's clothes to the shoes that I absolutely adore to the wall full of designer bags by the dressing rooms. 90% of my clothes come from here and its definitely become my favorite place to shop. read more

They have a lot of cute dresses, shirts and pants. They have some cute purses and wallets also. The only issue I had was the price for a North Face Jacket and Columbia Jacket, $50-$70 when they were clearly dirty and fairly worn. I have tried to sell there multiple times. Always Say "it's not in style or we are looking for this" and I'll have what they need in my bags. I will no longer try and sell here. I have looked through the clothes and shoes and they will be more beat up then the clothes I take in there. My clothes are in perfect condition. Some have been warn some have not.
