I figured today on my off day from work I would try to go to a new place to sell my clothing since I haven't been to any new regales stores yet! First thing I noticed when I walked in was the layout. It's very clean and organized and they have a very uptown aesthetic which goes well with its name. Walking in I did not get greeted nor did I get someone to ask if I needed help with my heavy bags. It was also not busy, having four employees in a decently large area I'm sure they could look up from the counter and see customers/greet customers who walk in. The sales associates aren't as knowledgable as I thought. I asked simple questions like "what are you currently accepting" "what type of accessories do you accept" the answers I got back were very short "oh you can just bring them in and we will tell you".... I'm already here and I didn't bring my accessories so I wanted to know a head of time so I wouldn't have them sorting through items that are of older styles. -.- also most store don't accept earrings so you never know! I've worked at a similar resale store and I never would have given that answer to a customer. They don't provide a wait time unless you ask and they do not provide an itemized receipt for the items they purchased for what price. The only thing they need to up is their customer service and attentiveness. Other than that the store itself has nice clothing a bit over priced at times but overall easy going. Austin is a great manager. I got the pleasure of meeting and he is very accommodating and does have exceptional customer service from what I saw in the store while waiting on my items but the employees need to up their customer service in order to retain their satisfied customers. read more

This place has strangely become not just one of my favorite places to find clothes, but also, to spend quality time with my mom! It's just such an upbeat place, filled with a good selection of awesomely-priced clothes (of which we have both found some gems), and even sometimes home decor! We have made so many fun memories here, and always feel welcome, even if we are just wanting to browse and laugh at each other's (ridiculously) different taste in everything. :) For reals, though: 5 stars for the great customer service alone. It was my second time there selling my clothes. It is very close to my house. First time was pleasant and good experience. Unfortunately, when I went to go and sell rest of my stuff 3 weeks later as didn't bring them the first time due to me unable to carry it all at once and wanted to make sure my stuff is what they are looking for, I had horrible experience! I brought 4 bags of good some new (never worn) and some barely worn shoes, clothes that were worn only few times (I cannot fit in those after my pregnancy hence wanted to sell them) and few handbags that were good quality. I washed and folded all my clothes. Signed in and asked if I can come back in 30min as I was told the wait is 45min. The lady at front desk (looked like a teenager with glasses) said if I want my clothes to be looked at today I have/must stay at the store and wait. I didn't argue and said ok. I walked around a store a bit and decided to just to wait next to the front door where their long dresses hang. I noticed other person going through my clothes and looked like picking up some shorts and some shoes which actually were brand new just never got to wear them due to getting pregnant. Suddenly this employee who was going through my clothes noticed I was looking (sorry didn't have anything better to do as they told me to wait inside the store!) told something to this lady with glasses I mentioned before (could have been a supervisor) suddenly picks all my clothes including the ones they didn't go through yet stuffs violently into bags calls my name and says nothing worked goodbye! I was stunned but didn't argue as not my personality to get into conflicts I just left! I am never going back to this store and strongly recommend to others if they want to sell their clothes! I know other two stores around Plano and Richardson that give cash for clothes as sold there before and just will continue going there AND BUYING there not in this horrible place!!!!! I prefer to drive a little farther from my house than to go to Uptown Cheapskate Allen ever again!!!! read more

This place is such a SCAM! I bought a 35$ dress a week ago came to return it with the tags and the receipt, apparently they can only do store credit no exceptions. Asked to speak to a manager and got a teenager. Will not be coming back. read more

Fantastic store! I recently spent my bday shopping here. I am a seasoned thrifter and really enjoyed shopping here. I got 2 pairs of designer jeans that normally cost a lot, a sweater and a nice shirt for $45. They also gave me a bday discount. Came in to sell clothes. Had all of my items neatly folded in a basket. They hand picked just a few items to buy but passed on nearly identical items (eg. took a red plaid polo shirt but passed on the identical one in green). When I came in to pick up, there were items in my return items that weren't mine, all of the passed over items were just stuffed back in the basket unfolded and wadded up. When I inquired to speak to the "buyer" that actually looked at my clothes to understand why some things were selected and other nearly identical e items weren't, I was told that I couldn't and they couldn't tell me their name because it's confidential. Ok... haha. The young lady that helped said that she could get the manager for me. I agreed and she proceeded to call the manager on the phone. The manager had no idea about anything to do with my transaction but stated that she fully trusted her buyer and that was that... great. Between this and asking full retail prices for wore out shoes, I think I'll pass on ever coming back here again and I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone else going there. read more

honestly was a disappointing experience. i have bought many items(over priced) and sold. while looking around i saw many items similar to mine, even some of the items i no longer wore that i purchased at this store, and they refused them. at the end of the day i got 18 dollars back total. not to mention, the staff is not helpful and quite rude. not worth the drive or the money. read more

I don't usually leave reviews but it would be a sin to not leave a review after my experience. The staff is friendly. I was greeted upon arrival and for a resale store it is impeccably clean. It only took around 20 minutes for them to go through a big pile. They took a lot of my clothes and I got $64. While Platos on the other hand offered me nothing. I only went to this location because the Frisco store had a sign on the door saying, "Due to computer malfunction, we will not be buying clothes until further notice." That should have been my red flag. I drove to the Allen store with two bags of 'preferred brand' clothes (according to their web site). I was told it would be 25 minutes to appraise my clothing - after 10 minutes, they called my name and told me that they couldn't take any of my items because 'they weren't good sellers right now.' Honestly it didn't even look like they unbagged my clothes. I was stupid and donated my clothes - then noticed that this store has Old Navy, H&M, etc for sale. I brought in current Banana Republic, Loft, Anthropologie, True Religion, Express - and was paid nothing. Sadly, I'm almost positive that if I go back tomorrow I'll find my 'donated' clothes hanging on the rack with price tags on them. read more

This place has rude customer service from the staff, and the clothes look terrible! I get that this is a "re-sale" shop, however, many of the clothes look like they are in poor condition at best. Also, I brought in high quality (some designer) purses, and the people at the front desk would not take them. They were in good shape etc... When my husband and I saw what they were selling for purses in comparison, their purses looked terrible. The people at the front desk also acted very entitled and rude. Don't waste your time here! There are several other places around the area that have much better service and better quality. read more

So before this store opened I took in one measly bag of items to sell - not thinking what was in there was really any good but ended up getting $75.00 store credit. I let my daughter shop away! Well the time came - 3 months later to again sell some things and this time the two bags of higher end things (AT Loft, BannaRep. 3pairs of nice shoes...etc.). For one Megan - what they call customer service - was very rude at drop off... Then they never called... so I had to call them two and a half days later and as it turns out my second trip was not NEAR what my first trip was... And when I called I was told she had just finished my two bags. It took Megan 2.5 DAYS to go through 2 bags... Terrible service - I would not recommend selling anything here - you would be better off donating to the Advocacy Center and getting the tax write off. Quite disappointed in my experience today. I arrived just after 2, filled out the appropriate paperwork, and had my id out and ready to go. When asked how long my buy would be, I was informed it would be 45 minutes. I browsed the store for 45 minutes, and then left for 15 minutes to run a quick errand down the street. It has been about an hour and a half now and my things are just now being looked over. There are more employees in the store than customers, so I don't exactly understand the hold up. I feel as though the selection has also worsened over time as well. I will be visiting other locations of uptown cheapskate in the future. read more

When my teen kids need clothing, we come here first! Great selection of a variety of brands and sizes. I even found a cute pair of Lucky booties for me! The selling process was smooth, and the return process was well explained. Very clean store with nice dressing rooms. The staff is always so friendly and eager to help. read more

I've been coming here since the location opened have been a happy customer until today I never really understood why it had soo many bad ratings now I see why , I brought in a whole bin full of brand name and good quality clothing, the bin was soo full I asumed it would take them at least 20 minutes to go through it all considering there were 2 people in front of me , instead I got called back immediately and was told nothing could be purchased because of a smell, I asked the woman what kind of smell and she said she was not at liberty to say. The clothing was freshly washed and folded , honestly only 2 things came to mind I was the only mexican person there the 2 people in front of me that appeared Caucasian honestly I was not exactly sure I don't ever asume , their stuff was being looked through but mine was regected ....pure RACISM not surprised considering its an allen tx location but it was just a shame I will no longer be coming here anymore, Frisco is the better location anyways friendlier and more options everyone I come here they have the same clothing read more

I went into Uptown Cheapskate today just to see how much they would give me for a couple of Juicy Couture items I am looking to get rid of. First of all, upon arriving the employees are not warm and welcoming... they took my 4 items and said I was first in line so it would be 5 or 10 minutes for them to look over the items. I had brought in a Juicy Couture white short sleeved jacket (paid $250), Juicy Couture bling leather wallet (paid $120), Juicy Couture black ballet flats that had been worn once (paid $200), and a Juicy Couture necklace that was still in the box with the price tag of $50 on it. 5 minutes had gone by and they called my name and said they were ready. They said $15 cash for 3 of the items or $18 store credit. They didn't want the Juicy Jacket because it had a miniscule stain on it. (would come out with a bleach pen I'm sure). $15 are you kidding me for Juicy Couture shoes, wallet, and a necklace!? That is beyond ridiculous I will NEVER be returning to Uptown Cheapskate. The stuff they have in there doesn't even look good anyways, needless to say they need rethink their business strategies and their employees. I understand they need to make money, but I know they weren't gonna be selling that stuff for like $5. Resale shops are supposed to give you half of what they are going to sell it for. I've seen them claim in facebook that they have plus size clothes. THEY DO NOT! they have a very very small section with xl but most of the clothes are juniors xl which is not plus size. I did see one lane bryant sweater but I'm sure that was a mistake! ;) they have a few larger size jeans but when I say a few, I mean under 20 pairs over sz 14 at any given time. I've given them tons of chances just thinking I've come in at an off time but it seems it's always an off time. If you are a size 2 teenager it's a great place to shop! read more

Okay, i will say i've had good experiences with this place in the past but the other day was down right awful. First of all, i went in to sell my clothes and i only had a few items. They went through the things they couldn't take, told me they would call me in 20 mins. Well... That goes by and they said they haven't even looked at my clothes yet because apparently, they've had people with more items than me in line first. Total bull because i got there when they opened. I called multiple times and they still blew me off and disregarded my anger. The over all proximity took about four hours and i only got 12.00 for my stuff. Lest we forget, customer service is TERRIBLE. You might as well not exist when you walk in. It's nothing but a bunch of snarky brats behind the counter and needless to say, i don't recommend selling here. Other than that, great styles for great prices! I am an extreme bargain hunter so if you are frugile or on a budget, this is a place but without the service. read more

I'm still very bitter about my experience after a week later. Normally I'm not the review type of person but something has got to be done. First, not returning ever again after giving this place several chances. I agree with all the other reviewers that customer service is beyond terrible. I was there on January 31 and there were 3 employees chilling behind the cash wrap along with another "customer" and we're all chit chatting away. I did my shopping and and still pondering over the thought if I should make my purchase. Finally after meandering around the register area hoping that a sign would answer my question about the return policy, I finally asked an employee. You know when you get the feeling where it's so uncomfortable to ask any questions because the employees are there just because they're there, but are not going to do anything? Definitely got the vibe. I asked Shelbi and she was at least friendly and nice to inform me the return policy. Clearly the purchase was not for me is why I asked and I was okay with the store credit. She did inform me that clearance is final (got that) so she continued my checkout. After the transaction was completed, I looked at my receipt and was confused why an item was cheaper. I still haven't left the store yet and I asked why an item was cheaper. She replied that one of my purchases was a clearance. She failed to inform me at checkout what was marked and I thought that all my purchases were normal price. I responded that I don't want the item because if I can't return it then I have no use for it. Then she starts going off about how the owner is very strict about returns. I get it. What's upsetting is that she didn't own up to her error. I really have no use for this shirt I bought for my boyfriend and I really want to drive by and throw it back at them is how I really feel. read more

I live in the area and it is a convenient location. However, almost every item is overpriced - most items are not thrift or resale. I actually found the exact same items at retail stores in the area - and they were at least 20 - 40% cheaper! Some of the salespeople are helpful but some are not - don't even bother to try to sell here - they have turned down Coach, Dooney & Burke, INC., Betsey Johnson and the list goes on. One purse I just bought full price I decided to sell - but the GUY said - it was not a new purse and they only take NEW items. They have only taken about 1% of my items ( and I worked as a manager for Macy's and Nordstrom - they were not cheap items ). Save your money, save your clothes and go down the street to COTTON CLOSET. Small store but wonderful owner and salespeople. They have cute items and if they don't take your items - they donate to charity. I thought a long time before I posted this review as well as shopped there many times but after the last visit - enough is enough! I visited the store about a week ago and my first impression was that it was very clean and they had a pretty good selection in some areas, i couldnt really find there things were and although there was two workers in the store that weren't busy no one was there to even ask if i needed help finding anything or to show me around. I was in the store for 30-45 mins and still they just walked right by me with out a word! I felt that was rude and diffidently not a way to sell anything! There was maybe one or two other people in the store that to my knowledge got about the same customer service. I could understand if they were busy but one lady was playing on her phone the entire time and complaining behind the counter and the other was doing pity work. I even asked a few questions and they just responded with yes or no and went back to playing on her phone! Hopefully they get it together and at least seem like they care about customers. read more
