Very easy to do, all you do is drop your clothes off and they notify you when they're ready for pick up and it's a good way to get rid of clothes that you no longer want and also if they don't take your clothes, they will also donate them for you, which is nice! read more

Uptown is my go-to shop if I need to sell something or buy a certain item, like workout shirts for example. They do not have the best customer service, but it gets the job done. Selling here can be a pain. They have new rules about hangers and what happens if you leave the store. I didn't know about the hanger rule and had to take off each and every one and carry them around the store with me while they looked at my clothes. If you decide to leave the store, you will be put at the end of the line since people who wait in the store will be given priority. All that being said, they do usually buy about 3 of my clothing items and give me a reasonable price. Some items I like to buy at uptown: workout shirts, shorts, mens cologne, and tops. I found a nice lululemon workout top for $12.99. One thing to be aware of- I saw two items that still had store price tags on them and uptown was charging more than the store clearance tag. That's unreasonable in my opinion. Overall, uptown is an okay place to buy and sell clothes. Just be aware of price tags and selling policies. read more

Decent at best & that's a stretch. Here's the thing, when you sell to a shop like 'Uptown Cheapskate' you know, automatically you're not going to get much for your clothing. They have to make money too, I get it. My complaint would be the customer service or lack there of. I was told I HAD to wait INSIDE the store while they went through a large amount of clothing I brought in (all VERY nicely packed & folded in large plastic bins). If I stepped outside or came back the following day, that meant I would be forced to take whatever dollar amount they offered for my clothes. Ummmm no thanks. So I decided to wait inside the store, (definitely cheap clothing here so I would highly recommend taking your nice clothes somewhere else). Finally, the lady finished and the Patagonia/Ann Taylor/Gap/etc. brand clothing they didn't take was all wadded up and tossed hastily back on the storage bin. read more

I really enjoyed this consignment shop. It's very clean and well organized. The people working are so nice, you can try on all your pickings and leave what you don't want on a rack by the changing room. It feels like you are in a regular department store. I am so happy I discovered this place a couple months ago. I love it! Their selection for both male & female, their layout, their customer service and even their prices are better than most other places of its kind. But some items are a bit over priced, maybe it's their newer inventory I'm not sure. I've spent good amounts of money during my visits and get a few dollars back here and there in their rewards or cash back promos. Their sales are not the best in my opinion. Despite their huge selection during their sales very very few items are part of that sale and seems to me that my size is hardly ever a sale item in the denim pants. I have yet to purchase an item on sale. Over all it's worth checking it out. You won't walk out empty handed. And despite it all I continue to stop in here and there for a find. read more

I never write yelp reviews but I seriously had the best experience here both selling and buying! Before I went I was trying to decide between here and the clothes mentor off Hulen. I decided to go here and I honestly was not expecting a good experience because people straight up SHAT on this location here on Yelp. Some people are straight aholes, I told the staff I was gonna write a review because I had such a good experience. The staff was smiling, so sweet, came around and asked if I needed a fitting room. I decided to shop while they looked over my stuff and I was so surprised. They have tons of brand names and I dont think I got an item that was over $17, most of their items were $9-$12 and like new, lots of tags still on. On of the girls noticed my hands were full with clothes I was buying and held them behind the desk for me. Also they took 80-90% of the stuff I brought in. Some of the reviews are so rude because they only took a few of peoples items, but I honestly think people are not bringing things on trend or like new. I had lots of zara, urban outfitters, etc and things with tags or very gently used. If youre not sure what they are aiming for just look around the store to help gauge what they are looking for. They dont just take anything which is why its such a good place to shop at. Even the bad reviews say "they have the best stuff but they only took 4 of my items" and it just makes me wonder if they are trying to sell the same quality they are selling. Im just saying, take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Angry people always write reviews and I wish more people with good experiences would rate this place because I really dont feel like they deserve all the hate. Thanks girls! the girls working were extremely rude and standoffish. I was told I'm not allowed to go sit and my car and wait otherwise I'd forfeit my items or have to come back in 48 hours. this isn't my first time here (well this location it was) but I haven't ever heard anything similar. I even checked the text update box while signing in. I also called to verify they would authenticate a wallet without a receipt so I didn't have to drive 1.5 hours for nothing. the girl said no I need a receipt. read more

This store is right near all the shopping centers & right down the street from hulen mall. This store in particular is locally owned which Is pretty awesome. Plenty of parking! Upon walking in there are signs to wear your mask at all times, and hand sanitizer to use right when you enter! Employees are wearing masks, and greet you immediately upon entering, very refreshing to see that. Note that if you donate here, you cannot drop off your load, you must wait until the staff is done with the load and they'll call your name when they are ready. So you must wait in store!! You can't leave which I think is such an inconvenience! However, an alternative is to drop the load off and it will be ready in 24-48 hours. Basically They take in store loads first! Plato's closet however you can drop off and you won't lose your place in line, and you'll get a call when it's done to come and pick up. So I wish they were a little up to date on that. I do love their system on pricing your items before they buy...they base it off what it's selling now, which I love because I feel that I get more for my items. Platos however is sooooo cheap when buying your items. Also...you can use the fitting room! It's open! And they have the best music! Lots of r&b yassss. They are one of the only consignment places that offer cash, or store credit. And the store credit offer is always more than the cash offer. Overall I often clean out my closet seasonally and would prefer to go here!! read more

Hello my name is Jordan and I was here just a few minutes ago and I was shopping around for a few items just to add to my wardrobe nothing too fancy, and I asked a worker by the name of Jenna for some assistance finding the men's section for pants. Ive only been here twice so I'm not too familiar with where things are placed just yet, but i ask her for help and she says to "Use your eyes and look", completely taken aback by her statement I walked away in utter shock at her rude and disrespectful tone and choice of words. Now her being a younger looking woman I would assume that she would be eager to assist the customers so I assumed she was having a bad day and tried again in a more gentle and polite manner than before. This time I ask a different question and she again gives me the same rude and nasty attitude, maybe some retraining on customer etiquette could help, or maybe a serious conversation about improving upon her customer service manners. She was extremely rude to me today and I did not appreciate her service at all. I love the store but from this interaction today, I may begin looking for a new thrifting outlet. read more

I will be "Forever Arlington" when it comes to Uptown Cheapskate (and UTA!), but this one is a close second. I first went to this location in late November, and immediately found 5 Original Penguin brand items... These folks know how to consign. You really have to trek to the back for the mens stuff, but it is well worth it. The staff is friendly, and they have a great selection, and always seem to have a great color coded deal or 2. Think buy 1 blue tag get 1 free, etc. I really like the way this store is organized. The parking is ample and they have plenty of great brands. My only complaint? Driving to Hulen Center from anywhere else makes one weary. read more

This place is an absolute rip off. They make you wait in the store after you drop off your clothes to consign if you want to be able to go through the items they decide to take for cash. IF YOU LEAVE, they put all the items they want out on the floor and you don't get a chance to look through them before they take them and then they give cash so you don't know what they took or how much they gave you for certain items. The staff is incredibly rude. I don't recommend this place at the least bit. It's extremely difficult to consign with them. read more

All of it would be very easy to sell on Poshmark, but I don't have the time to invest in listing every single item, and would be much more interested in selling locally for a lower price. The clothing that is there is nice and the customer service is good but if you're looking to sell clothes i don't recommend going there, you would make more money selling it yourself. I gave them around 15-20 good quality shirts that could've easily went for $3-$5 each and they said they were giving me only $3 for everything. Such a waste of time in my opinion read more

My son gladly ran the suits back to the car. She said it will be an hour And a half. I gladly accepted since I had 2 bags. She calls my name w in 30 minutes and says $11 for three items out of 2 huge bags. Really? I just walked through your store for 30 minutes bc you made it clear I cannot leave and I see what you have on the shelves. I'm certain she did not look through my bags as it was the end of the day. This location picks and chooses who they greet. I have been in there plenty of times and not once gotten greeted. Standing behind a reg includes customer service nut this location does not care. They sure do love having conversation between themselves and their coworkers. The Arlington location is so much better. read more

I went to Uptown and noticed that they had moved the men's clothing to make room for more women's clothing. The section for the men's clothes is much smaller now and the clothes were so crammed onto the racks and it was very hard to look at the clothes. It was not very buyer friendly and I told the employee that I couldn't even pull the clothes off the rack because it was too hard to get them out. I hope this is fixed soon! read more
