Having someone wait in store, with inadequate seating and 6+ people ahead of you, with NO specific wait time is not the way to do business. I wouldn't recommend this establishment for trading in clothes. Got $62 for $1000 worth of quality clothes. 14 Columbia PFGs and an expensive Ralph Lauren vest. Spent over an hour in the store. A woman with blonde hair and glasses, clearly older, decided to take her frustrations out on me the moment I walked in. All I did was approach the counter after receiving a text that our clothes were ready. Instead of handling the situation professionally, she immediately gave me unwarranted attitude, raised her voice, and only adjusted her tone once my husband walked in. From what I gathered, there had been a miscommunication among the staff that almost resulted in our belongings being lost. Rather than taking responsibility or simply explaining, she chose to deflect and lash out at me. All I said was: "Hi, my husband and I got the text that our order was ready." That's it--and she began "popping off." It's unacceptable to have an employee representing your business who behaves this way. Mistakes happen, but there is never a valid reason to raise your voice at a customer--especially in front of children. It is unprofessional, hostile, and reflects poorly on your business. This kind of behavior should not be tolerated. Do better. read more

I've been to Uptown Cheapskate in Addison a few times now, and each visit has left me more frustrated. My first experience was actually pleasant, and I was specifically told by a staff member that they needed more men's clothing like what I had. Wanting to help, I made the effort to return--driving up twice with high-quality items, including unworn or barely worn designer men's shoes. Both times, I was turned away for different reasons that felt inconsistent and unnecessary. One time they said they weren't buying at all, and another time they were only offering store credit with no clear communication. What made it worse was how rude the staff was about it, especially on my most recent visit. To find out that the woman being so dismissive was actually the owner made the experience even more disappointing. You'd think a franchise owner would be excited to receive the exact kind of men's inventory she previously said her store needed. Instead, I was met with attitude and a complete lack of interest in high-quality pieces. The store itself isn't much better. The selection is limited, the pricing is high for what they offer, and the overall experience lacks any customer care. Skip this location. Other Uptown Cheapskate stores have been much more professional, consistent, and welcoming. read more

Love the area! It's actually located in the same shopping center as my favorite Target. Cash offers are pretty good if you wanna make gas money real quick. I found a pair of Zara gold flat's originally priced at $59.90 and got them for $19.99!!! Love that and they were new still tagged. I would recommend when you purchase any hat, bag, shoes second hand to disinfect them you never know how many people tried them on. I also love their clothes and accessories selection the bags so many cute and luxury brands to choose from. Also I saw some Nikes I wanna get I've been twice! Created an account with them the 1st visit. All the employees are nice ! It's a very welcome atmosphere. Clean, organized and dressing rooms are clean. I'm big on acknowledging people as they enter the establishment. 2 people were behind the counter as I walked into the store and they both spoke. For the type of morning I was having, this was refreshing. The young man who checked me out was very courteous and explained I could bring my item back if I didn't like it or didn't fit, as long as the tag was in tact. The woman standing along side him was busy tagging other items and sparked up a conversation with me. These two seemed genuinely interested in customers. Best service I've received in a long time. The item I purchased was in great shape too....almost new. I told my husband we will frequent this store more often just because of the courteous service I received. read more

Very kind and helpful employees! The workers all greet each person that walks through the door. They will help answer any questions you might have and do their work with a smile on their face. First time selling here and it was a terrible experience. The owner/manager (she was handling the buying counter) is a rude lady that does not know how to treat her customers and lies to ppl to keep items for her store. I dropped off two items around 2:00pm and couldn't stay so I told the young Hispanic girl I would come back to pick up item before they closed if I declined the offer. I showed up at 6:00pm to pick up my items since I wasn't going to take $29 dollars for name brand mens boots and mens levis jeans, that were both in new condition. I show up and the manager/owner lady (didn't get her name but she's an older white female with blonde hair) gave me my receipt with the offer and I told her I wasn't going to accept the offer and that I was picking up my items. She then said that apparently when u drop off items you are turning them over to them to keep regardless if you like the offer or not. She said it was even stated on the receipt. Which is a total lie! I have uploaded a copy of my receipt and it clearly states "if they have not heard from you by 7pm they will compete the sale and at that point you will not have the option of reclaiming these items or declining the offer". She is such a liar, I was there at 6:00pm to pick up my items. I told her I wanted my items and that I would never return to her store after such a terrible experience. They don't even walk you through the process when you drop off your items and expect u to know how they handle the buying of your items. After reading the one star reviews it looks like I'm not the first or last person she has been rude to. I will never come back to this location again! read more

They went WAY up on their prices. You are pretty much paying normal prices for used, no brand, items. Also, I brought at least 20 items there yesterday to sell, and they wouldn't accept any of it because (and I quote) "Most of these are kid's clothes". Ok, I am 5'5" and 175 lbs. None of my clothes could possibly be misconstrued as anything but adult. And when I mentioned that she went on to say "Well, they've also been frequently washed". WHAT?! This is a used clothing store, yes they've been washed. Nothing she told me made any sense. I didn't even bother mentioning that a good portion of those clothes had actually been purchased previously from that very store. All around, the experience was awful. Do NOT recommend. read more

I have visited this location several times, and it never disappoints. I was there the day before yesterday, and had great service from Taylor. She was conversational without being intrusive, expedient on the register, and quite helpful. She also helped by starting a bin (where you keep your items while you shop). The dressing rooms are big enough to try on clothing and have lots of hooks for potential keepers (some dressing rooms do not have this option, and it is annoying). Most of the time I am a shopper here. The sales associates welcome everyone who walks through the door. The employees ask if they can help while I browse, but are not hovering, They are constantly buying new items, so the inventory is always replenished. I have sold once or twice here, and had no issues at all. It seems like some people have had negative experiences selling, but that may be because their "buy" counter is pretty busy. People who want to sell clothes have a choice of waiting in store or dropping off and getting a call. There is always a sale, or markdowns, so being a repeat customer is great! read more

Kelsey helped us in the store and friendly. She answered all our questions and was patient with us. We were looking at jewelry at 7:57 pm, and they closed at 8. She did not rush us and told us to take our time. The store was cleaned and organized. What I liked the most was how the store was lighted that it made it look more like an upscale boutique than a resale store. By far, this store and the Lewisville store are by far the best Uptown Cheapskate stores we have been into. They had a wide variety of items. read more

Horrible location. Brought in 4 bags to sell. There was a sign on the door that said after 2pm they would be unable to buy items. Okay, fine. Well then I bring my items in right at open and they notify me that they'll only be able to sort through one bag because they're short staffed. are you kidding? They inform me that there are other locations nearby that can probably sort through the rest (nearby is actually 20 min). I begin trying to find my best items and put them in one bag and she informs me that I can't drop them off like usual but I'll need to wait for them to sort. By that point I'm just done and pack up all my items. Avoid this locations at all costs. read more

Just went in here to try to sell clothes--the two ladies working here were extremely rude. My friend and I were carrying heavy bins of clothes that we set on the counter. The younger white lady working there told us they're store credit only. Proceeded to rudely explain they're a franchise and do store credit only. The older white woman with white hair asked us to put the heavy bins off the counter while I waited for my friend to get off an important phone call. Like she couldn't give her five minutes before we picked up the heavy bins again. Horrible experience trying to sell here. Store credit only is a scam. They could definitely improve on friendliness as well as actually knowing what they're doing. The younger woman told me they do not offer cash buy outs, but the old woman told me "all locations offer cash unless they 'run out'. " so which is it? And also--does this mean the buyouts in cash they offer to you are based solely off how much cash they have as opposed to what the items would be worth ??? read more

The manager older later w blonde hair and sometimes has the bottom pink passed on 2 bags of clothes that were all cleaned and in great condition and when I asked why she passed on them she won't speak but has her sweet poor associate tell me the they are passing because of the condition. This is the second time this has happened but the first time I could understand because one of my daughter's prom dresses had glitter that got on all the other clothes.. but this time we made sure clothes were all good. We used to come w prior manager there and back then they ALWAYS took our clothes. I think one time she said we'll take everything but these 2 would you want them back or donate them? first time in the shop this past weekend. Found a great buy and was really excited until I got to the counter and its the darn customer service issue , this age group is terrible . I have a friend who was shopping and bringing close in often to sell and he said because of the customer service he has opted out from this store and decided to shop in Lewisville location. I was shocked at the disrespect given. store is clean , items though , some had steins on them and purses are nasty on the inside, I've been to lots of resale shops and had better products to choose from that wasn't so torn up. maybe work on the customer service part and things will hopefully get better from there. read more

Music could be slightly louder was a little awkward with the soft elevator volume of music, they played todays music though so that was nice just a little to quiet for my personal liking. I WAS a very consistent customer at this location. Their selection was great and it was my first place to go if I ever needed anything but I decided to never step foot in there again after my last experience. I think the manager (I'm not 100% sure if she's the manager or just works there but she's always there) is incredibly rude and has horrible customer service skills. One of the reasons I loved this specific uptown was because they always carried a good selection of activewear. This particular day I found a beautiful light pink lululemon body suit however when I went to try it on there was a massive (a bit bigger than the palm of my hand) liquid stain by the neck. It was a $30 bodysuit (which is understandable for resale lululemon in good condition). However, that particular bodysuit was stained, god knows with what and if that stain would come out. When I went to checkout I asked if they would be willing to discount it because of the stain and the girl went to go ask the "manager" (an old white woman with blonde hair and faded pink tips) who then looked at me saying that the stain could be washed out. However, there was absolutely no way of knowing what that stain actually was or if it would come out. I then asked her if I bought the bodysuit, brought it home, washed it, and the stain didn't come out if she would give me my money back to which she cut me off and snapped at me that I didn't have to buy it. I told her she was absolutely right and that I wouldn't because it was absolutely insane to ask for $30 for a stained resale lululemon body suit and to ask me to spend my hard earned paycheck on her word was asinine. Disgusting way to treat someone who shopped there so often. After that encounter I'd rather drive 45 minutes in traffic to the frisco location than ever see that sorry excuse for an employee ever again. Frisco Uptown Cheapskate is way better anyways I just never wanted to make the drive but, totally worth it now. Never going back, I'd give this place 0 stars if I could. read more

I usually love shopping at any Uptown Cheapskate location, but this is the WORST one I've ever been to. If you want to be rushed and pressured into checking out, then this is the store for you. The lady (who wears a face mask and I assume she's the manager) wouldn't let me walk around the store with the clothes I had just tried on. After I explained to her that I wanted to walk around more and hold onto the clothes I tried on, she grabbed my clothes from my arms and said "You can decide what you want when you check out" and then proceeded to place my clothes in a bin, behind the counter. I'm the kind of person who likes to think through purchases beforehand and take my time when I shop and compare other items to what I tried on. I feel uncomfortable standing at the register while going through the clothes I tried on and holding up the check out line. No other store I've ever been to just takes your clothes after trying them on and makes you go straight to check out. I would rather go pay full price somewhere else or shop at a Goodwill than shop here ever again with their terrible customer service. Uptown Cheapskate needs to fix their store management and customer service, or they will just keep losing customers. read more
