I'm right next to this store and I've come in to sell, buy, and take part in their $15 fill-a-bag sale. I was having second thoughts because it was so crowded and I didn't think I'd find anything good. I left with so many goodies, among them an incredibly nice, great condition pair of hiking boots! What can I say except the people who work at this location are so nice and positive! It really makes the experience good every time. It's great to go here to peruse and pass time. Their clothing selection is pretty diverse so you never know what you may find. It is true that the price is not typical thrift-store cost. It's not as cheap as somewhere like Buffalo Exchange, but there are discounts and sales constantly. They accept most clothes like Plato's Closet, but I have found better items here. Bottom line, love to come here. It's great to have this store in the community and have such great people working there. read more

Super rude employee working this evening 1/15/25. Online says selling clothes stops at 7 so I hurried from work to get there at 640 to allow time. Apparently 630 is the cut off to sell any items. Which is fine sometimes things are listed incorrectly online. That is not the problem it is how she spoke to me, very rude. I'm sure this review will not matter to this employee. I only have one experience at Uptown Cheapskate, and it was very poor. I brought in two pair of designer blue jeans which were originally purchased at Macy's. They were brand new with all of the original tags. They retailed for close to $70 each. I realize that this is a consignment store, so I'm not expecting to receive anything close to the original retail price. However, the price I was quoted made me feel like this store is either a joke or a scam. While I was waiting for an estimate, I looked around the store. I saw used or previously worm blue jeans in my size starting around $18 and going up. When they called my name to give me a price, they offered me $2.50 for each pair of brand new, designer blue jeans. So, they are going to pay me $2.50 and then turn around and sell the jeans for $20+. That's an incredible mark up, and I definitely will not be back and would not recommend anybody sell clothes to this store. By the way, they can't say that these jeans were too warn, because they were brand new. They also can't say that these jeans would not sell, because the exact same jeans are being sold new at Macy's and used on eBay. I'm very disappointed. read more

Consignment clothes at retail prices. This new chain is a sister company to Kid-to-Kid. Smart idea, but seriously lacking in the "consignment pricing" department. I love consignment stores & finding deals, but this store is shameful. "Uptown" suggests that their items are higher end, which, to be fair, is somewhat true. (Don't be fooled though, I've seen Walmart items prominent in the mix) However, many of their "higher-end" items are worn so badly, it no longer matters who the "designer" is, especially when the price far exceeds the realm of a "cheapskate." (Maybe "cheapskate" refers to what they pay people for their terribly worn clothes?) I admit, the store is fairly organized and they have a lot of merchandise, but so does Goodwill. I was very upset when I had to wait there for 30 minutes for them to tell me that they can't accept any of my clothes. Half of the clothes I had in there were so cute and expensive (Lululemon, madewell, target, guess,Zara. The lady that was doing my clothes was rude as hell talking crap about half of my clothes. I had a shirt that had a Bible verse on it and she goes "this shit is ugly asf" knowing damn well I was sitting in a distance where I could hear her say that stuff. Is it cheap? No. Am I wearing designer clothes on a modest budget? Definitely! I bought my entire fall/winter wardrobe (22 items) for $180. I found cute jewelry for $2-$3. I now have sweaters from Loft, American Eagle, Ralph Lauren, and more. One jacket still had the original price tag for $118; I paid $19. I will definitely be back! They do a great job displaying and selling trendy cute clothes, I know I will always find something cute when ai come here. Although, I don't know if I would consider it cheapskate. They are much pricier than your average thrift store. There are many BOGO or bag stuffing days which I try to go on. And if you ever want to splurge they usually have some higher end item for a cheaper price, like a pair of Uggs or a Patagonia jacket. read more

Hated this place will NEVER come back. Went to uptown cheapskate looking forward to selling my clothes to them..shoes,shirts,jeans even a sweater and they did not take one thing. A bag full of great clothes. Had some old navy jeans, hollister jeans,shoes that he worn maybe two times and if not then never and they did not take a single item. I used to love coming here but I will not be coming to this particular location anymore. I'm actually very sad I have to write this review. I came in about a month ago to sell some clothes and browse around the store while I waited for them to go through my things. As they were going through my items they were loudly making fun of the clothes I had brought in mind you these were not nasty, worn out, out of date, clothes... these were good condition clothes. I would not have minded if they simply did not want anything I had brought in, but to be so loud and obnoxious and rude about someone's items that they knew was still in the store at the time? That's ridiculous. They would hold up my items and say "ew" to each other just straight up making fun of clothes that were decent clothing acting like the clothes had been found off the streets or something and saddest part is that they were training a new hire. That's how they teach their employees to act here? Needs new management or employees to get the business they deserve. I took the clothes to another store location and they were so nice and kind and actually bought a majority of my clothing. So sad to see. read more

I think the selection is great and would give 4 stars for that component. However, the pricing is definitely not "consignment". If you want bralettes check out Fashion 10. They are new as well, but under $10. The jeans section is great but I found the same thing at Goodwill for $7.99. The shoes are a pass for sure although they do carry Birkenstock look-alikes that are very cute. I can't speak to the comfort because we didn't try them on. They do have sales occasionally and the pricing would be more in my range during a sale week. Location is great. We came in on a Saturday and they probably could use more help on the floor and registers. There is new items available for purchase but while the item looks cute it does lack in quality. read more

Would recommend to try and sell your clothes through Facebook, Poshmark, or Mercari. The items I tried to sell were worn maybe 2x and had no wear. The kids (yes, kids) buying items said the items were not in the shape they were looking for and not in the category they were looking for yet all items were on the list I was given when they turned my sale away. Also, I noticed that a lot (A LOT) of the items on the racks for sale, were extremely worn and dingy. I actually saw a few items I was selling on the rack, in a different color and looking rather dirty. Steer clear folks! You are better off trying to sell on Social Media or having a yard sale to sell clothes. read more

This place just seems like a glorified Goodwill...& it smells like it too. Took some time to peruse the store while waiting for some items I brought in to be "valued" and was shocked at the condition of some items. Filthy sneakers, faded caps & so on. While you can get lucky & find some name brand purses & a great selection of jeans, my mind just couldn't get passed how they accepted to sell filthy sneakers from someone. This is where it all began to feel very Goodwill to me and a lot less Uptown. Now, on the selling end....they did not take the time to thoroughly sort through the variety of items I brought in (unused with tags and in their original packaging). Only offered to buy 3 pieces for a total of $13.75 - are you kidding me!!!!!! One of those items were genuine leather boots never worn and in the original box. So insulting. Clearly, quality isn't a priority for them. You'd make more money selling online via Facebook groups or even a garage sale lol! Cheapskate is right, "uptown" not so much! read more

Buyer Beware! Oh my gosh, these people are crooks and practice horrible business practices and Treat the customer horribly ! I am surprised they have not been shut down by now ! Last week, I took a brand new pair of shoes that I paid $50 for that were too large to see if they wanted to buy them. They said I had to log them in and when I did they said it would take 20 minutes before I would have an answer . The lady before me had an entire basket of clothes that she logged in and they also told her 20 minutes . She said she was going out to the car to get something I was behind her and thought I had a couple of minutes to go next-door to Sally's to get some hairspray . Upon my return, In 5 minutes, I was given a slip and told I would be given four dollars for my brand new $50 shoes. I said that's OK four dollars is not enough, I will sell them online . They said you cannot have your shoes back because you left the store!!! They told me if I wanted my brand new $50 shoes that have never been worn that I did not agree to sell to them I would have to give them $15.99 to get my shoes back. I said I left the store for five minutes , you said it was going to be 20 before you could give me an answer and the lady in front of me had an entire basket of clothes and you have not gone through hers yet and she also left the store and you did not rip off her personal property! They denied that fact -liars and dishonest and would not give me upper management or franchise owner name!!Simply - I wanted my shoes back and they would not give them! I was ripped off in Jamaica like this but never in the USA ...I was not about to give them another $15.99 for my personal property, they robbed me . I called the police - they told me they have heard of other shady situations there and I would need to pursue it as a civil matter . They also advised me to report them to the Better Business Bureau and file a report which I have! I am looking into pursuing this legally ... This should not happen to any customer in any place of business especially in our country ! I was asked if I was willing to talk to the media and I said "yes"! They still have my $50 shoes !!!!! Horrible experience. This was my first time at this location and my last. No one greeted me when I came through the door but they made eye contact. I observed afterwards and realized I was the only one not welcomed verbally. I was in the store about 15 or 20 min before anyone asked if I needed help. When I finally asked for help she did not answer my question directly and kind of chuckled at my question. I also shopped throughout the store with a ton of items in my hand and no one offered me a dressing room to hold my items, a bag, or a rolling cart. I stood by the fitting room for a good 5 minutes before I had to ask someone for a fitting room. Mind you there was an employee standing right there that did not acknowledge my presence.. when it finally came to check out I stood up front ignored again by two workers conversing while they folded clothes. Another employee helping a customer finally motioned one of the girls to ring me up. I then asked for two separate transactions and she replied I'm just going to ring them up together then she didn't know how to separate the cost so she had to go back to my original plan which was ringing them up separate. The store was highly unorganized and unprofessional!! I will never visit this location again and will let my peers know about the experience and to steer clear. Customer service goes a long way and I do not get a discount bc of poor customer service. The store gets all of my money so why shouldn't I get all the professionalism in return. read more
