Best experience ever. Called the same morning and the receptionist who was FANTASTIC found a spot for me for my root canal. She was sympathetic to my pain and could not have been more professional. 8 years later - visit 2. The practice has grown yet the dental care remains excellent (caring, compassionate and willing to explain issue, actions required, etc) A few clinkers, although in the end it turned out to be minor. I was not able to get to see Dr Fitz, I saw an associate who had the basics down pat and did a good job. Unfortunately his name not on website so I am at a loss. The follow up call which previously was the same evening following the treatment, was the next day. Maybe that is the standard now vs 8 years ago, not certain. I advised who my insurance carrier was and they said don't even bother, getting the card out you do not have coverage (Medicare Advantage). That was not true as I have two dentist visits and cleaning plus $1000 without deductible. I probably will consume that $1000 this year so probably no loss (or I obviously can file later once all the other claims are submitted from the dentist), but the point is don't bs me about my coverage. Also, my dentist sent the x-ray and evaluation in advance of my appointment (I was copied) and the reception said they did not get it. Did they look? I filled out a patient info form hours before my visit and I would think that would have been flagged to look for, but it wasn't. During my treatment somebody (I assume from reception) came into the treatment room and said that there was a dentist on the phone and the wrong tooth was being worked on. (This was after the process was well under way) As it turns out it was another patient. (being numbed I nearly crapped myself as how would I know?) So still a 5 rating on treatment, but a 3 for reception for a net of 4. If necessary and hopefully not, I will go back even though my dentist refers patients to another provider whom I have no experience with. read more

Omg this doctor, Patrick, works super fast amd efficient! I have been to some other root canal specialist near here (it was dr Novak office)they charged me almost double the cost and took longer. I still dont have problem with the tooth tho. Anyway i was amazed how quick this doctor did everything and I was less tensed up ,(i hate getting my teeth done) im glad my regular dentist referred me this place! Had to get a root canal. I was terrified. My dentist recommended Dr. Patrick Fitzgerald. When he gave me the anesthesia shots I didn't feel a thing. He was very caring. He told me if at any time I feel pain to ket him know and he'd take care of it and he did! All I felt was a little pressure. He was super fast to. He was done in 30 minutes. This Doctor is the best! This review is a little late, but here it goes: Around Thanksgiving I had noticed that a 6 yr. old crown was becoming discolored at the base, near my gum line. Subsequently I was experiencing some slight pain deep within tooth, noticeable every once in awhile. Due to a the occasional pain, my dentist suggested I visit the Endo and get their expert opinion before he put a brand new crown on a tooth; a tooth that possibly needed another root canal. My dentist gave me a referral to Park Ridge Endodontics I easily made an appointment at PR Endodontics. I arrived at my first appointment with my referral slip . Dr. C. asked me what was going on, examined the tooth and performed some tests, as well as more in-depth X-rays; X-rays my dentist couldn't provide. She did notice an area deep in my canal that needed to be retreated. She gave me several treatment options (pulling the tooth, leaving the tooth alone and doing nothing or root canal therapy). I chose the option that allowed me to keep my tooth intact. I made another appointment so that I could return for the root canal procedure several weeks later. Dr. C. cleaned and retreated my problem area and I was in and out of the office in no time. My tooth has been perfect ever since my visit with her. She was very kind, smart and explained what she was doing during the procedure. My treatment was taken care of in one visit and I was able to return to my general dentist for a new crown several weeks after. All my visits were done between Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I really appreciated that. I was blessed with great dental coverage, so what I paid out-of-pocket was nominal in my opinion. I appreciated the reminder text messages about upcoming appointments. Super clean treatment areas and an inviting reception area. Friendly office staff. They answered my insurance questions with no trouble. Saturday hours! Looking for an endodontist for my 10 year old daughter. Called this office. I told the receptionist, Daria, I'd like to ask a few questions prior to making an appointment. She asked if I could hold. Sure. 30 seconds later a man answers the phone and says "what's up" 4 times and I say "hello?" in response, to which I got no answer. Then get hung up on. I call back, wrong line picked up I'm assuming. New receptionist, Liz, I relayed to her that Daria was going to help me answer some questions prior to making an appointment. On hold. Another woman answers. "Would you like to make an appointment for your son?". I repeat Id like some questions answered first, prior to bringing my daughter in. "When we're you looking to come in with him?" Obviously this office is about the number of people they can get in not the quality or care of the patients since I can't even get answers PRIOR to going in. If you are reading this because you need the services of an Endodontist, you have my deepest sympathies. I saw Dr. Rumack a few months ago. He was very thorough in his evaluation and did not rush my decision into getting a root canal for a tooth that was giving me trouble. I was very pleased with the staff-- their efficiency, compassion and professionalism. Getting an appointment was not that difficult at all, and they were happy to meet me when I arrived. (unlike some other doctors offices I had called, which I felt like needed a bribe before they would give me an appointment within a month of requesting an appointment.) During the procedure we learned that evidently I am one of those patients that seems to require a lot more Novocain than the average person. Upon this discovery, Dr. Rumack stopped immediately and focused entirely on making me comfortable. Including taking a tissue for himself and handing a second tissue to his assistant, so they could each take an eye to dry my tears. Seriously... you just don't see that kind of compassion every day! I also appreciate that he was always on time for my appointments. Although I hope I never need endodontic services again in my life, if I do I will most definitely call Dr. Rumack. read more

I just had part 1 of the root canal done today and it's honestly not too bad. Much quicker than I thought and I didn't feel anything. The office staff is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Fitzgerald truly wants the best for you and your teeth. He explained things very clearly and made sure I understood the process of the procedure. The office staff clearly explained the cost of the procedure before he began and everyone works with you to make sure that your insurance covers as much as possible. You just don't see this type of care too often (at least I don't!). Honestly, no one wants a root canal. PR Endodontics is a GREAT office! Not only were they able to see me right away, they made it so easy!! The office manager e-mailed me forms to fill out ahead of time, then let me know what my financial responsibility was going to be (so no surprises!), and was very helpful to any questions I had. Upon arrival to my appointment - I was greeted warmly by the front desk & then later the hygenist. She was friendly & made me very comfortable. Dr. Moore is amazing! I was a new patient to the office that called in need of an emergency root canal. I was offered a same day appointment. The front desk, pre-op staff, and surgical assisting staff were kind and professional. Dr Moore's local anesthesia techniques were pain free! I kid you not. I had a terrible root canal done at Sears Dental (don't ask why). Dr. Fitzgerald was recommended to me by my new dentist. He performed a re-treatment and filled the 3 roots that the previous "dentist" had only filled about 1/3rd of the way. On top of that, he found a 4th root that the other dentist had completely missed! The actual treatment was brisk and expertly performed. He doesn't mess around, he knows exactly what he is doing and moves so quick with all his different tools switching between different size "root probes" that you will actually find yourself entertained by his quick action rather than concerned with having a root canal done! The best part is the initial Novocaine shot doesn't hurt because he "shakes" the skin of your cheek as he inserts the needle and you don't even feel it. For me, the anticipation of the shot is what I can't stand. Now I have to go back for another root canal and I'm not really nervous about the shot because of his little "trick." The only thing was the next day I had really bad pain because the roots were so deep and had been treated several times. I used some pain killers and slept the whole day and by the next day, the pain was pretty much gone. He did call me to check how I was which is a nice touch. Usually it is just a receptionist going through the routine without actually caring. He seems genuinely interested in your well being. Overall, I am very satisfied and wanted to share a detailed account of my experience to hopefully help potential clients decide to see Dr. Fitzgerald, you'll be happy you did! read more

After weeks of having a tooth ache, I went in yesterday for a root canal. I've had some previous bad experiences with other dentists, so I was extremely anxious going in. Dr. Fitzgerald was extremely personable, listened to what I had to say about being scared out of my mind and did everything he could to make me feel comfortable. You know when you go to the dentist and need Novocain and typically that first shot hurts, and then you don't feel much after because the area is numb. Dr. Fitzgerald has some amazing techniques that you don't feel the first one - nothing. It was all about taking deep breaths, working with him as he did what he had to do. Even after all that, 30+ years of going to some dentists who weren't that great and scarred me for lif, I couldn't get relaxed enough. He wanted me to be comfortable so at my request, I got laughing gas. I think that was best for all of us! He worked quickly and efficiently and had me out of there in no time. Dr Fitzgerald said that I may experience some soreness for the next few days and to take advil. I took advil before bed last night and I can honestly say I haven't even needed to take anything today. I attribute this to his fantastic work! If I ever need a root canal - he is where I am going and I will definitely be recommending him to all my family and friends! read more

I had a root canal yesterday by Dr Alex Moore. Not your average root canal. The tooth was deteriorating so it required much more time and treatment than a normal root canal. Dr Moore and the dental assistant could not have been more competent and professional. They kept me informed during the entire procedure regarding what they were doing. Dr Fitzgerald had a great bedside manner and would regularly make jokes and make me feel comfortable. I have very high anxiety around medical procedures and this was totally painless procedure from the injection which I never felt not even a pinch. Dr. Fitzgerald was incredible. I was nervous about getting a root canal cause of hearing horror stories. This was not the case here. Didn't feel an ounce of pain. (Not even from the shot) It was fast, in and out with no pain. He even explained the procedure in full detail (although over my head lol). Overall felt comfortable and recovering was not a problem either. Been to dentist before where they numb the whole face but it was done perfectly and was back to normal shortly after. Painless Root Canal Need I say more? The last time I had a root canal was perhaps 15 years ago. So I know how painful root canals once were in the dark ages of the late 1900's. On Saturday I went to Dr. Fitzgerald for a root canal assessment. Naturally they used real time x-rays so you could see your tooth immediately. The verdict, "How about a root canal today?". Sure, why not. 60 minutes later I was done. This was painless folks. And I know how painful a root canal can be. Apparently the technology has improved greatly in 15 years. No multiple sessions to dig out rotted roots in your tooth. One session should be sufficient if your practitioner is as good as Dr. Fitzgerald. A nice young man in his early 30's who knows how to take care of my old teeth. I think he was a bit surprised that a "geezer" was discussing Yelp with him and online marketing. But if your teeth are becoming sensitive to heat and cold, if you've cracked a tooth, if your tooth is becoming very sensitive to pressure, keep Dr. Fitzgerald and Park Ridge Endodontics in mind. If you don't have a regular dentist, Call Dr. Fitzgerald first. If you do have a regular dentist, hey, just call Dr. Fitzgerald first anyway. Verify if Park Ridge Endontics is in your dental health care network. Yes, root canals are expensive. So if you need one, you better have it done painlessly and skillfully. Painless root canal? Yes, absolutely!!!! My dentist referred me to Dr. Fitzgerald for a root canal. I've had more than one before and was not looking forward to it. Hey, it all starts falling apart with age. Dr. Fitzgerald was able to fit me in that same day and actually took me on time. I was in and out of the office in less than an hour. Still numb from the novocaine, but absolutely in shock from how pleasant (yes, pleasant) the entire procedure was. The Doc said I would not need anything for "after" pain and he was absolutely right. Cracked a tooth on a chunk of granola cereal that got progressively more painful, and the endo reccomended to me couldn't see me for 3 weeks. Looked up nearby Park Ridge Endodontics, and am grateful that I did. The caring Receptionists got me in quickly with Dr. Sebastien Przybylo, who did a thorough exam with X-rays, and told me he could save the tooth with root canal. I really appreciated his conservative approach. He and his skilled technicians made me as comfortable as possible; how many can say that about a root canal! I was encouraged to call with any issues, and I did have to call the next day (Saturday) with a reaction; Dr. Przybylo did call me back. He and every person that I encountered the day of my root canal were empathetic and skilled; they checked in with me the next business day. Dr. Przybylo was on my dental plan; and although I had a rather high co-pay, I felt it was well worth it. I highly recommend Park Ridge Endodontics, and would return again-which I hope won't happen! read more

I had low to moderate grade pain on right side of my bottom molars for about 4 days. At times the pain would radiate to my upper jaw. My strong hunch, before going to my dentist, was I needed a root canal as pain occurred when hot or cold temperatures were involved. I met with my dentist & she felt it related to me having some gum recession in this area which was causing occasional nerve pain. She infused some desensitizer substance in this recessed gum area. This didn't work & I decided to visit with a former periodontist so he could evaluate. He told me that I had some gum recession & bone loss & suggested I start seeing him or another periodontist on a regular basis. I was annoyed that my regular dentist hadn't referred me to a periodontist in the past five years nor did she diagnose my root canal need. This periodontist reported that his strong hunch was that tooth#30 needed a root canal. I was relieved to have clarity & he referred me to an Endodontic practice. I went to this Endodontist based on my periodontist referral. The Endodontist was very young & told me he went to dental school with periodontist's son. I began to privately question the nature of this referral. The Endodontist did a pulp test & immediately told me that tooth#30 was dead. He told me that I had about a 50% percent chance of having a successful root canal. He also told me my tooth was infected. I told him I needed to think about this before proceeding. He wrote me a prescription for Amoxicillin, 500mg, 3 times a day with a total of 22 tablets & then I can see him next week. I didn't think my tooth was infected and I didn't fill prescription. I also didn't like being offered an envelope full of ibuprofen with each tablet being 800mg. I was able to satisfactory use my own Advil, 200mg tablets, 2 tablets every 12 hours for the next 3-4 days. Why use more pain killers & medication than you may need? It was then that I called Park Ridge Endodontics. Dr Patrick Fitzgerald had already done two successful root canals for me in the past 10 years. I called his office & they were able to squeeze me into his very tight schedule two business days later. I recall Dr Fitzgerald stating that I didn't have an infection. I told Dr Fitzgerald that if I was going to lose my tooth, I wanted to lose it at his office as I wouldn't regret it as I went to the best Endodontist possible. Needless to say, Dr Fitzgerald in a very confident, calming & professorial way successfully executed my root canal. He actually makes a scary event almost seem pleasant. Overall this was a very difficult and disappointing dental procedure. The gist is I was seen by Agnieszka Chusczyk. She allowed seconds of topical anesthesia before numbing-very painful. She didn't explain what she was going to do before doing it. I had questions that couldn't be answered then during the procedure. The instrument broke off during the canal-now cemented in. Lets hope that isnt a problem. At the end-my balance was paid-not explained and I was given a receipt with no itemization until I asked for it. read more

It's three years later, and time for another root canal. I immediately reached out to Dr. Fitzgerald, and secured an appointment for just a few days later. As before, the very pleasant staffer checked with my insurer and informed me, well before the appointment-day, exactly what my copay would be, so there were no surprises there. On treatment-day, I arrived early and was ushered right in by the assistant and was seen immediately by Dr. Fitzgerald. As he had done three years ago, he administered the anesthetic shot with absolutely ZERO pain or discomfort. (He's the only dentist I've seen in nearly 70 years who can do that at all, let alone consistently!) Throughout the procedure, he kept me informed as to what he was doing and what to expect, and he completed his work - pain-free - in half an hour. Payment of the copay was completed cordially and efficiently and, having arrived early, I was actually out the door five minutes after my scheduled appointment time. The entire office staff was friendly and helpful, and I received a follow-up phone call from Dr. Fitzgerald the following morning. Although a root canal is never thought-of as a pleasant experience, with Dr. Fitzgerald it's no more of a big deal than a minor filling elsewhere. I just wish he did general dentistry and periodontics, too, so I could have all my dental work done there. Park Ridge Endodontics is the place to go! Edit: I thought I was doing an "update" of my 5-star review from 2014, but my "update" seems to have replaced my original review altogether. Suffice to say, both root canal experiences - 2014 and 2017 - were equally top-notch. Quick scheduling, advance notice of copay amount, cordial & efficient staff, completely pain-free Novocain shot, smooth & painless root canal procedure, and post-op follow-up by Dr. Fitzgerald. Dr. Fitzgerald is confident, reassuring, professional, and surely must stand as the preeminent endodentist in the area.
