This was a horrible expereince. I would not trust any large transactions through this escrow company. Catherine was extremely disrespectful. Due to miscommunication at closing with her and Jill I lost nearly 1,000 dollars in interest with the mortgage company. She was defensive, sent an email to me and all brokers and members of escrow team describing what I did wrong and how she did nothing wrong. Took ZERO accountability and attempted to humiliated me, so unprofessional. This was my 8th house and 10th escrow company I've worked with. Shocked with the poor management and handling of funds. I've sold multiple properties (of the mountain) and Uptown came *very* highly recommended by my local realtor. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. 1. Had to follow up multiple times with communication. Don't get me wrong, they answer right away, but they never have the accurate answer. 2. Scheduled notary to sign seller docs. Was told $50 over the phone. Was $65 on my closing statement. 3. Notary was given inaccurate closing documents. I told the escrow agent multiple times the sales price had changed, they said it was fine and it would be fixed for signing. It wasn't. Was told on phone by escrow agent (at signing table) that a corrected form would be sent. Had to follow up multiple times before they sent it to me another day. 4. Seller sent funds Friday morning, Uptown (conveniently) "didn't receive funds" early enough to disburse on everything on Friday but was told by someone over the phone that they were so busy due to the last day of the month (the day before!!). So who is lying? Oh, but the house was already sold. Just no money. 5. Monday evening now - no money in my account. Mortgages not paid off. They sent proof the funds disbursed late this afternoon (wires take several hours for receiving institution to process). Another day still no money. Finger pointing saying title hands disbursement (an escrow company's fiduciary responsibility is to handle disbursements, why are they having title due this?)... If your realtor recommends this place, I'd recommend you find your own office or ask your realtor for another office. read more

Uptown escrow efficiently handled my closing in Running Springs in October 2021. I recently received a tax bill from San Bernardino county indicating that I was responsible for property taxes as of July 2022 even though it' was already closed. The county tax collector said that my name was still on the property and I was liable for the taxes. I tried working with the county tax collector and assessor but was not able to correct the matter. I called Crystal at uptown escrow just to see if she could give me some hints of what to do and she said she would take care of the problem for me. She dealt directly with the assessors office and got the name of the property corrected so that I was no longer liable for the taxes.
