I was impressed with the agents ability to listen to our home buying preferences and select homes that would be a great match. Do not go with ReMax. I had an agent, Polly McDonald who did NOT explain what was going on, especially with contracts. So if you want an agent with a condescending attitude, who makes decisions for you and never tells you anything or explains anything, Polly is for you! Also, don't expect the manager of this agent to listen to you. If you already are a real estate agent and know everything about the contracts, this is the company to go to. I always thought if you hire an agent, they are supposed to be in your corner and guide you and protect you from getting fooled into things like having to leave by 6pm on the day of closing of escrow and getting paid the next day. But I didn't even get to finish the escrow because the buyers couldn't afford my house in the first place. Now I am forced to go to small claims court to get the deposit that should go to me. And I don't get the house I was buying in AZ. I DON'T RECOMMEND REMAX! I got a new agent who is in MY corner and willing to sell my house without all the drama. Meanwhile ReMax has put a hold on my house so it cannot be listed and Polly did not sign the Cancellation of Listing contract with box 4 checked, principal owes no compensation to Broker. My son was the co-owner on my house deed and ReMax insisted he needed to be removed for tax reasons. When they sent him a form to be signed and notorized at his own expense, they sent him a return envelope with the WRONG ADDRESS to their business of the old building 5 years ago! Then they were not nice about the fact it never arrived! So he took a picture of it when it was returned to him and I am forwarding the photo of the WRONG ADDRESS! This company has FAILED for customer satisfaction. I do NOT recommend ReMax Advantage. Addendum to Joe M., It is now October 20, 2017. I am so glad I fired Polly and went with Emily of Century 21. She found a buyer for my house within 5 days of firing Polly, it finished escrow, and I moved into my new house out of state on Aug. 15th. I'm so glad I didn't stay with Polly. I have a new house that I'm pleased with and no longer in CA. I suggest checking REAL reviews and backgrounds of an agent before selecting one. I knew nothing of real estate but was smart enough to know when someone is rude and when to move on. Kudos to Emily for being a professional at her job and getting it done right! read more

Well this is one of the worst real estate experiences we have had. Despite having legitimate reasons for wanting to be released from a listing agreement, this broker blocked this from happening. Meaning that we were locked into a very negative agent that we not performing. At the time we signed the listing agreement, we had a lot of paperwork going through. Evidently we signed a 6 month agreement and are now bound by it. Most brokers will allow dissatisfied clients to cancel an agreement, so I can't recommend using them as this broker is not interested in forging long term relationships with clients. read more

This review is specifically about Janine Nielsen, who was the listing agent for the home we bought. Ms Nielsen was unprofessional in her dealings with our agent- screaming at her over the phone. She also invited her half brother, his wife, son, and three dogs (2 were pit bulls) to "house sit" while we were in escrow. Instead of preventing vandalism, which was the agreement, she also attempted to delay our closing in order to give them more time to freeload (house sit). When they did vacate, they left our new home a huge mess with trash, belongings, and dog damage. Not ok! After this awful experience with a remax agent, I would think long and hard before entering into any future transaction involving the company. read more

On first contact, which I emailed her on the weekend, Janine got right back to me with a lengthy email explaining all my options and even sent me a couple of houses in my area to look at, and told me to call or email her anytime I had questions. I asked for suggestions on who I could contact to get pre-approved and she sent me a few options right away. I set up an appointment to get Janine's suggestions on what to do to get my home ready to sell. She met me at my home, was polite, prompt and extremely helpful. Once my home was ready to sell, Janine immediately took photos highlighting all the best assets. She printed up beautiful flyers to showcase my home and had the For Sale sign posted and my house listed on a Friday. That Sunday, she had an Open House and I received an offer on Monday. That same Monday morning I was texting Janine, at the same time, she was texting me to suggest we look at a house that had just come on the market the night before. The buyer of the Loma Linda house and their realtor were not the easiest to work with to say the least, but Janine dug in her heals and was looking out for my best interests.
