Beautiful facility, excellent customer service, and such a unique experience! The closest most of us will come to feeling what it would be like to float in space. For those folks with claustrophobia fears, the float facilities are open and you can choose to keep some lights on. This business closed without reaching out to the customers. I purchased 4 floats from them and no attempt was made to contact me to refund my money. I understand it says all sales are final, but that's just poor business practice not to attempt to refund the money when it was the businesses fault and not the customers. read more

I can't say enough good things about the Uptown Float Experience. I have been experiencing chronic knee, back, and should pain for days, if not weeks. I booked a float and came out like a new person. Knees didn't hurt, shoulders were ok, and no back pain. I've been doing these floats for months now and look forward to each and every one. Sooo... I entered the "Upside Down" however no Demogorgon was present! This was my very first float and a pleasant experience it was... So, you enter the tank in your birthday suit (naked) and are cut off from all outside stimulation, sound, sight, and gravity. You immediately become weightless as you float in silence and darkness well, darkness if you choose to anyway. There are three buttons to the wall of the tank that you are in that allow you to adjust the lighting in the room, in order of my personal preference you can have it pitch black where you literally cannot see your hands in front of you, or you can have the blue light that illuminates from the bottom of the "tank" or lastly the star lit sky. I thought the water in the "tank" which reminds me of a massively over-sized bathtub to be at a temperature of say 80-90 degrees definitely lukewarm yet enjoyable. It took me a good 20-30 minutes to "relax" but that is just me. I think I received the most benefit from it POST float. I felt ahhhmazing, my sleep cycle was in deep REM for several days thereafter, and my joints felt good from previous days WOD's at the box and my curls had major volume and bounce ppsshh who doesn't love that! Aesthetically, the facility was clean and modern. The staff was informative and genuine with their customer care. This was the "flow" of my visit in a nutshell: * I Showed up a good 10-15 minutes prior to my appointment. (use the bathroom during this time ;) ) * When you get to your room remove all of your clothing and jewelry. (don't worry about your belongings as it will all remain in the room that you are in when you are in your session) * Shower and shampoo your hair before entering the tank. * Enter the tank and close the door. Your time starts when the music begins. * Lay back and let the buoyancy of the water allow you to float. * You'll know your time is ending when music cuts back on; I think it comes on a good 5 minutes before the end of your session--- Once it does you get out and shower...again this time you can condition your hair. Now, it took me longer to get myself together post float rather than prior because the room has a good bit of moisture and humidity due to the shower so your still "dewy damp" no matter how much you dry off when getting dressed. Once you exit the room there is a vanity room to prep your hair make up whatever and a relaxation room with complimentary water and tea. **They literally provide everything you need from hair care products for everyone, towels, shampoo, conditioner etc. **This place is by appointment only, so no random walk-ins. First of all, I am NOT a water person of any kind. That being said I was SUPER nervous about doing this- but my husband said let's be open minded and try it. I've heard about epson salt being really good for you, and how some people only do this to keep health or healed up from muscle soreness or I guess, just plain old bad germs. Me, overcoming fear of the unknown: water thing, will I float?, water + darkness + silence?!? Well, I DID IT!! Uptown Float in Columbus is amazing. The staff Megan & Hailey were very professional, they really know their stuff and both were very cognizant of my nervousness. Hailey walked me through every step before I got started, showed me the how to's and answered at least 10 questions. Once I got in the 8'x4' pool and got started, I turned off the pool light and kept the twinkling ceiling lights on and noticed I was floating without even trying!! It was silent, and then... I turned off the tiny twinkling lights to really see how the solid blackness worked. It was the best relaxing hour EVER! I know I was deep sleeping because I twitched and stirred up the water but it was very easy to go right back where I was. Before I knew it the very soft music/sounds were on and it brought me to reality, and time to shower off, moisturize then to the vanity and chill room. Uptown Float is very clean. We would definitely come back, refer and suggest to everyone to do this at least once. Come in with an open mind and you will wonder "why haven't I done this sooner?" I have long been a fan of float therapy, and was delighted to find this treasure in Columbus! The aesthetics welcome you from the get go to start a perfect experience. This is my preferred method of floating--an individual room/pool, rather than a pod. They provide everything you need from earplugs to towels, and the rooms themselves have the option for a beautiful starry float, should you not want total darkness. When you're in the pool, the water and the air are both so warm you can't tell where one ends and the other begins. Because the pool is so salienated, you truly are floating and you relieve all pressure on your body. It is the ultimate relaxation. So so thankful to have Uptown Float! read more

I had my first float today. It was a relaxing and pleasant experience. Very friendly, helpful staff and the place felt calm and clean. I had a 60 min session and time flew by in the float room. Next time I would like to try a 90 minute session. It helped relax my body and focus my mind a bit. They provide everything you need and can answer any of your questions. Your tank is in a private room which also has a shower so you can wash off before and after your float. If you are nervous about being in the dark, you have easy access to controls for the lights while you are floating and you can choose to keep a light on. read more

I legit love this place! I wish we were wealthy enough to treat myself more often! It is so calming and therapeutic. The owners are super helpful and easy to talk to and answer all your questions. The float rooms themselves are amazing. They feel so luxurious and are impeccably clean. I love the privacy and security of knowing I'm alone in a generous sized spa room with gorgeous waterfall showers before you get into your large open air floating tub. I have trouble relaxing initially so 90 minutes is probably perfect for me but 60 minutes is all my bank account can afford..sigh. They do offer happy hour pricing which is a $10 discount. Very cool! Embarrassing story to illustrate how sweet they are--my first time I was super nervous and not listening as well as I probably should have to procedures. Once my soak was up, a voice on the intercom tells you your time is up. Once you open the soak tub door, the lights click on but I forgot they told me that so I floated there for another 15 minutes before they reminded me again and I used the intercom to ask if they could turn the lights on. They kindly reminded me what to do and were incredibly gracious that I forgot when I tried to apologize as I was leaving. read more
