I began working with Mr. Giraldo in 2020 while he was dealing with two business challenges that would have been my undoing. As if the Pandemic weren't enough, Al Momentum's shop in Preston Royal was ravaged by the October 2019 tornado that tore through the heart of North Dallas. While the building with his shop is being restored, Mr. Giraldo works out of an apartment across Noel Road from the Galleria, where he meets with customers by appointment in the building's well-lighted lobby with comfortable seating. Obviously I had to cut this visit short, but Jay offered to text me pictures or videos of any pieces I wanted to see, or to meet another time at an outdoor environment if that would be less stressful for my son. Szor's jewelry selection is thoughtfully curated, and runs the gamut from more feminine to more masculine pieces. Items tend to feature less common materials (opals, moonstone, 24k gold). Designers include Barbara Heinrich, Petra Class, Atelier Zobel, and Denise Betesh. The online shopping experience is also excellent (they put a lot of time into their website and social media), but there are pieces in the store that aren't featured on the website, so it's worth visiting the shop if you can. This is definitely a small business that inspires loyalty, and I recommend them very highly.
