I have been going to AMAF since February and it has changed my life. I am a student here so I know…read morewhat I am talking about. Negative reviews here are complete BS, all of them. None of them is the fault of AMAF. This is not a gym. I repeat this is NOT a gym. So, if you say I wanted to go to the gym and blah blah, you are a very special kind of stupid because the name says it, Adrenaline Martial Arts and Fitness. Where did you find the word Gym? If want to do weights or if you want to "workout" after work, stay away! This is not for you. We sacrifice work and family life, as do our sensei and staff, make plans, show up, wear our gears and learn how to be disciplined and defend ourselves. Not how to look pretty, for that call 1800-LOOK-PRETTY. Here we partner up and practice martial arts, serious martial arts. This is NOT a gym (for the third time). Most importantly this is an extremely kid friendly environment. Parents are always present and everywhere, coaches are attentive and caring, and the facility is safe and family oriented. Bring your little prince or princess and let them learn some of the most valuable lessons in life: discipline, courage, courtesy, self-defense, teamwork, self-esteem, etc. (Some of the coaches here are law-enforcement. It's that safe) I have seen some of the fiercest little-fighters and politest kids here. Give your kid something to carry with them forever you wont regret it. Since Feb I practice under sensei A. He is awesome, hardworking, and very involved. He is patient but will also kick your butt if you sit there like a bag of potatoes. Do the sitting at home, here you get your butt moving. Good news is you will drop weights like you have never dropped before. I lost 7 pounds in two weeks, and it was a record for me* so far (I also drastically changed my diet and had not had a single sip of soft drinks, a bite of fast food, or a single piece of fried food since Feb). All thanks to my sensei and the group of dedicated people that encourage me to show up everyday so they can kick my ass for a good hour straight and the staff that are friendliest and the bestest ;) *It is not recommended to lose more than 2 pounds per week. It is unsafe. I did not try to lose that weight. I actually fed myself very well and did not starve myself and kept my body completely hydrated. I just had more than 7 hrs of intense workout and it paid off.

I'm writing this review to bring awareness to other parents who may be considering martial arts…read moretraining for a child who is on the Spectrum . My intention is not to criticize the quality of the program, the facility is well run, the instructors are skilled, and the overall training offered is great. One of the main reasons I chose Adrenaline Martial Arts was because they are listed by the I.E. Autism Society as a facility able to support children with these needs, and I was also referred to them by IRC. Because of that, I felt confident that my son would be entering an environment equipped to work with him. Unfortunately, based on our experience, the academy is not fully prepared to support children on the autism spectrum. Even though I was upfront during the screening process about my son's disability and specific needs, it became clear over time that the program was not structured in a way that allowed him to succeed. While the staff was never unkind, they didn't seem to have the tools or training necessary to work with children who require additional support. I am sharing this so that other parents of children on the Spectrum can make an informed decision, and in hopes that the academy will take a closer look at how they screen new students with disabilities and how they can better support them moving forward. Adrenaline Martial Arts is a strong program, but it may not be the right fit for every child especially those who need specialized attention or accommodations.

During our initial conversation, I was also told that "it's not daycare" and that everyone should respect other people's time, which felt like an unusual introduction for a prospective family. On the day of the trial, we arrived early, completed the waiver, and met the coaches. The assistant coach was warm and welcoming, especially with the younger children. Unfortunately, my experience with the head coach was very different. He seemed annoyed that my daughter was there, despite her being invited to attend. As a nervous first-time participant, she needed a little encouragement and came over to me briefly. She was then corrected for walking across the mat instead of around it. I understand the importance of rules and etiquette, but no one had explained that expectation to her beforehand. Overall, the environment felt unwelcoming for a young beginner. While the assistant coach made a positive impression, the program did not seem well suited to very young children, and we'll be looking elsewhere.

Chaz is professional but he also has a great sense of humor. Having a male trainer who consistently maintains a high level of professionalism. He has never made me feel uncomfortable at any time. His fiancée also trains, and whenever questions arise, he consults with her to gain her perspective. This approach allows me to benefit from both viewpoints, ensuring I receive well-rounded and thoughtful guidance. Whenever I need assistance or guidance regarding snacks or what I should eat. He always gives me great ideas or other alternatives. Chaz consistently challenges me to be better and to lift heavier. He ensures I have good form. He always has great recommendations for stretching. I would recommended him to anyone. Who is ready to get into the best shape of their life.

His experience really shows, especially knowing he's placed in multiple competitions, and he brings that same level of discipline and focus into how he trains his clients. He pushes you hard (all the way to failure when needed), but always in a way that's intentional and tailored to your goals. Beyond the workouts, he helps dial in food goals, gives guidance, and makes sure you're set up for success with a clear plan. After that, it's on you to show up and put in the work. What really stands out is how he supports you even when you're injured or sore, adjusting workouts, helping you work around limitations, and keeping you progressing safely. He's knowledgeable in so many ways beyond just being a fitness trainer, which makes a huge difference. If you're serious about real results and want someone who will challenge you and hold you accountable, I highly recommend training with Chaz. 100/10.

She had already paid for her guest pass and even showed proof that her account was valid and that the payment had gone through, yet the short black guy at the front desk employee continued to argue with her instead of taking a moment to verify the information. There was absolutely no reason to raise his voice or treat a paying customer with such disrespect. As her husband, it made me incredibly angry to hear someone speak to my wife that way over something that was clearly a misunderstanding. Customer service should never involve embarrassing or yelling at members in front of other people. I've even gone back to the gym hoping to speak with the employee directly and address what happened, but somehow he never seems to be there whenever I stop by. It's frustrating because I wanted to have a respectful conversation and make sure this kind of treatment doesn't happen to anyone else. No one deserves to be treated like that, especially after proving they had done everything correctly. This experience has completely changed my opinion of this gym. Staff should be trained to handle situations professionally, verify information before accusing customers of anything, and treat people with basic respect. We will not be coming back, we'll go somewhere that is more professional and inviting.
