I paid with a credit card and booked my reservation. And from my understanding in the email of the confirmation, gratuity was not supposed to be added to my bill. I typically like to give cash as a tip. I tipped my driver in cash and then I got an email with more than what I paid for when I booked my reservation. I never authorized them to add gratuity. So essentially I paid twice for the tip. The service was good and they were prompt, but I will not use this company again. Check your statements to make sure the numbers match, if you have already booked this company. It's not about the money at this point, it's the principle. *update* I reached out to the company and they refunded me that second tip. I think they need to do a better job of keeping track of the tips and the system. read more

I have used Marwan's service for 10 years and he has really been the best. I offer anyone here to please contact me personally if you need a recommendation. After a long cramped flight it's great to stretch out in a nice big clean comfortable car. No small compacts here - either Town Car or A8 or equivalent. Drivers are extremely nice and Marwan is always on top of things - he also does the drives himself too. Always communicative with text messages - if you have iMessage you'll even get it on the plane with wifi. They track your return flight and timing. It is well worth paying for this rather than the popular "ride sharing" services of the day. One of the other well known and famous "real-time" services has sent me a driver in a tiny car who got lost going to the airport! No such problems here - I don't miss my flights with these guys. I have been so happy with the service on business travel that I have used him many times on personal travel as well. Especially if you live in Santa Clara county, the "regular" taxis hit you with "double-rate" cross-county taxi fees for SFO - whereas with Marwan you pay less, get a better car, and have someone you can trust. I have even had him pick up a younger family member traveling alone late at night and bring her to my house - I would not trust many people do that. Due to regulations you do have to book in advance. But if you're taking a flight you're booking in advance anyway, so just do it at the same time. Regarding the person who mentioned tips - I love the fact that it's included. I don't ever have the right type of change for tips. Half the time I have foreign currency in my wallet. It is much more convenient to include tips because then I can expense it easily - cash tips are really hard to keep track of and how would you give a proper receipt of that to your employer for reimbursement? With this service the PDF is automatically emailed to me and I upload it into our Oracle system. Perfect. Regarding the person who mentioned return trips - it is very convenient to have that scheduled with flight number that they track. If there is a change a simple email will fix it. Marwan is very quick to respond to emails and also responds by phone when timing is tight. Just this past weekend - being January - I had to enter my new credit card for business use. I sent an email and he called right back and took the information and booking. For all the claims of "automation" and "app economy" I really feel the next wave is the "personal economy". I am tired of automated apps with no people behind them and no understanding of what the customer is doing or why they're doing it. Maybe I'm old fashioned, but maybe what's old is new again. Marwan gives personalized service and is willing to work by emails and phone calls, and understands the business workflow of what I need to be efficient in my highly travel-oriented job. There was a complete lack of communication, resulting in my party (two senior citizens) and I having to wait nearly an hour - outside no less. In a day of smartphones, GPS, and real time traffic - this is completely unnecessary. I think that had I received better information, this wouldn't be a one star review. Recently, we used San Jose International Airport for domestic flights, and the service of 101 Limousine is as usual impeccable. Rather than wait on the arrival curbside, the driver is there at the baggage pickup and zips us home. The drivers are always courteous and drive with caution. Background- moved to the Bay area about 2 years ago. These guys were smart enough to advertise in Money Mailer, and that was the first place I looked. I used them once and thought they were passable, and likeable, so I used them EXCLUSIVELY for the last two years. They seemed to be just a few bucks cheaper than everyone else. Regardless, I'd say I brought them at least $2,000-$3,000 in business from all of the trips I make, both for business and personal. Anyway, I had booked them to drive me to/from Cupertino to SFO. As usual, the trip there was fine. The problem: the owner asked me to book the return flight right away. I was never really comfortable with this in case my plans changed or I had to switch flights but I figured eh, I'm a good customer of theirs, I use their service quite frequently, so why not. About half-way into my international trip to London, I had to make a change and I forgot to call the service, in between rescheduling my flights, non-stop meetings, etc. All of a sudden, I get a call at about 5am London time saying "Sir, the Limo has been waiting for you for over an hour!" Now, I immediately realize what has happened- I had forgot to call and cancel the limo! (With time zones different by 8+ hours, it wasn't totally my fault but hey, it is what it is and I understand it). I immediately say "I'm so sorry... I completely forgot. It's 5am here and I was in back to back meetings yesterday, could I call you tomorrow?" The owner says, without hesitation "yes sir, but there will be a charge for this." I thought to myself "well, number 1, I've probably given you at least $2,000 in limo rides over the course of the last two years" and 2 "it's 5am in the morning... couldn't he tell me that when I call him back tomorrow?" Anyway, I proceeded to hang up because I wasn't going to wake up for this nonsense. I expected a call back to go over the charge/s, however, I logged into my card today to find that they had just went ahead and charged it, without my consent or my signature (about 55 bucks, but still.. not cool). Moral of the story: With the business I had given you in the past, I would've expected an "okay sir, no worries, we'll talk to you tomorrow morning" at the very least. Maybe even said "hey sir, you're a good customer, so we'll let it slide this once". No offense, but there are at least 25 other companies out there screaming for my business. It doesn't take a degree to drive a limo, so you guys are a dime a dozen. So, I booked with one of your competitors for my trip home and the service was MUCH better than with these guys! I was given snacks, water, magazines, the works, for only a few bucks more. The funny thing- I would've stuck with 101 limo them for the rest of the year... so let's add up how much they lost based on my trips (it's $100 round trip from Cupertino to SFO, including fees and driver gratuity... don't buy into the crap they pull with the coupons). Called in at the very last minute to have a limo pick up my mother from SF to drive down to the South Bay (so I could get other work done before she arrived). They were able to accommodate my early morning Saturday pick up. Upon arrival, my mother said she was picked up on time; the driver was a good driver (very important to my mother), nice and gave her bottled water on the trip. I live in Sunnyvale. I used these guys once last year and trip to SFO was good. I decided to use them again for a roundtrip home-SJC-home because of a family vacation in Seattle. Driver for home-SJC was a bit more than 5 minutes late and when I paid him at the airport he was very quick at noticing his tip was less than 15%. He tells me 'there's a mandatory 15% gratuity'; it was too early in the morning to start fighting but honestly he was lucky to get 10% after being late to pick us up... And I still gave him 15%, I shouldn't have. Driver for SJC-home was a nice guy but 2 problems: 1. He had parked the limo to wait for us at the baggage claim; paid $1 to get out of the parking lot and yet I get charged $4 for this 'parking fee'? Nice. This might be mentioned on the coupon I used but I had no clue I would get charged 4 times the parking amount. Rip-off. Why don't you charge people the exact parking amount? 2. Once home, I quickly calculate 15% of the amount for the tip, driver says it's not enough and rounds that amount himself to make it higher. Nice again. On the way back from SJC, the car was a run-down Lincoln Towncar that had been waxed for the last time probably 2 years ago. There was no light for the instrument panel so the driver had to check his speed with a mini flashlight! Interior look very dated; this car had not been taken care of very well. The base rate seemed like a good deal: $39 with a coupon. I ended up paying $64 to SJC and about $62 to Sunnyvale thanks to the 'mandatory' gratuities (funny!), $10 early morning pick up fee for trip to SJC and rip-off parking fee from SJC. My tip to the owner of this company: make sure your drivers are more focused on customer service than their tips. This behavior will get your company nowhere, hence my review and the fact I won't use you again. IMPORTANT - Edit on June 7 2011: I've been contacted by the company since my bad experience with them and they offered to drive me/my family on our next trip to the airport, promising better things. They are trying to make it up to us so I just needed to mention that. read more

I have used 101 Limo to get to and from the airport for business and personal travel at least 30 times, and they have never been late (important to me since I don't pad my schedule very much), they are very helpful and courteous, and they are also good drivers (not always the case). I've also introduced them to my company, which has been pleased, too, for visiting employees from other offices and for company events and trips. I've also used them for rare trips around town. I'd recommend them, and have recommended them, to family, friends and colleagues. I like these guys service very much. I use them primarily for business travel but sometimes also for personal, primarily for going between home and SFO. Their drivers are always early for pickups at home, no matter if 3:00pm or 3:00am. The cars are clean and comfortable. The price is just a nominal bit more than Uber but much more timely and much early to plan around. The website for making reservations works well and their administrators confirm reservations very quickly, generally same day or next day even on weekends or evenings. For a scuba trip with my kids, it was easy to reserve a larger vehicle that could fit 4 people with LOTS of big bags. Highly recommend them. read more

I have a large family, so for family trips I typically take those blue shuttles, but after a recent bad experience with them, I decided to take a recommendation of a friend and try 101 Limo. AVOID this company. I provided a credit card when I booked, the driver said it was on file and didn't ask for it either way to SFO or on pick up from SFO for business trip through my company. A month or so later they started calling saying they needed payment. Nearly a year later they sent a thug to my house who screamed at me and my neighbors until I paid him for a service I thought had already been paid for. They will try to say I stiffed them I'm sure in the response, this was clearly a misunderstanding but a man coming to my door and threatening me at 9 p.m in front of my children...I had to call the police. Turns out this driver was not even my driver, don't know who he was demanding payment and he has a record of civil harassment. I want to warn consumers do not use this company as a safety issue. read more

I have never been quite as satisfied with the service as I have been with this company. Everything from the attention to detail by the owner to the professionalism of the drivers is above reproach. Most recently, on my way to the airport for an international business trip, the driver arrived early because it was raining and there was a lot of traffic. Had he not done so, we would not have made it to the airport on time. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.
