Came in to the shop as a walk in and Mike one of the barbers greeted me nice and friendly and asked if I was a walk in or If I had an appt he was so professional told me I have 1 person ahead of you but don't worry I can get you in. I'm glad I waited for him because my son got the Best haircut he has gotten and I have been here before just gave it another shot I'm glad they stay open late for the parents that get out late from work. But Mike did such and awesome job got what I asked for and the haircut was on point. Other barbers that are their don't even say anything when you walk in so un professional. Brought my Son in for the first time and wasn't impressed. A friendly hello or something would have been nice. UPDATE!!!! Still five star rating but a little rocky on this visit. I usually get my hair cut by Greg but he had an appointment when I showed up, the appointment was running late so he said he'll cut my hair and when he was about to the other client showed up so yeah annoying. POINT of this update is that I ended up having Johnny cut my hair the youngest and newest to the barbers at this shop but let me tell you. He knows what he's doing and I'm very picky with my hair and presentation so it was like ehhh do I want to but I needed the hair cut asap and didn't want to wait. Johnny attempted to do the same or similar style of cut Greg does and Greg did well on explaining it to him really quick. He did something similar but a bit shorter than I'm used to, not a problem since people enjoy the change. I'm happy about the service here, it was a bit annoying at first but in the end it was my fault. ---------- I first came here due to my barber Greg moving locations. I didn't even know there was a shop there. I walked in and was greeted by a few people even my old barber Joseph. This place has a very clean smell to it not like a wet rag or sweaty pits like most shops. There's candles burning and a corner ceiling fan keeping the air circulating and AC pumping to protect you from the heat. Staff are really friend, I had an appointment with Greg but arrived 15 minutes early either way and got out looking and feeling brand new. I would recommend this place to my friends any day. I made an appointment with Juan for the first time today and it was a great experience, he's friendly, shop is clean. What a bring down. After all this time waiting to finally get my hair cut at a place that has given me really good haircuts in the past. I went there this morning and found 2 barbers NOT wearing masks or gloves and one patron also not wearing a mask. He finished and left. It was my turn so I asked the barber, I had never seen before if he had a mask? He saud no, so I immediately turned around and left. I thought there was a local rule or law requiring masks. Walked in because my barber was closed unexpectedly. Juan was free and took me right in. Explained what I believe is a routine fade, but I've had people not do a good job in the past. That was not the case with Juan! He gave me the best fade I've had in years! Nice and tight! Wasn't rough while cutting like some others I've experienced! They don't charge you to fix mess ups form other shops or bad home jobs. This is a true old school roots barber shop with a new age feel. I was a regular at this place but my last two haircuts were bad so I won't be coming back. My second to last haircut looked great and except the guy cutting my hair had his friend over and the guy was drunk and still drinking right in front of me and yelling while trying to joke around with the barber. The last time I got the same barber and asked for the same haircut, a fade, and the guy literally didn't try because the end result was nothing close to a fade and kept the top way too long even after asking him to take some more off the top when he was done. I drew the line when a friend of his came in to get a haircut and asked the barber if it was okay if he could smoke his cannabis vape pen inside... what kind of business even is that? My son has adhd and can't sit still for the life of him during his cut but these two ladies always have a way to keep him under control and ALWAYS kill his cut. Today I took my son to get his hair cut after months due to a bad experience. My son was freaking out and really didn't want anyone to touch him.
