I was visiting a friend in DeWitt and she took us here for lunch. The place was hopping for a Thurs lunch - already a good sign! The three of us were greeted promptly and had about a 5 minute wait. The place is cute as the dickens - very charming. The wait staff was fantastic and friendly even though they were hustling. Now, the best part...the food!!! We tried the meatloaf sandwich, Cobb salad, and a plowman sandwich with a side salad. The food was fresh and the portions were large but not impossible. My Cobb salad had the perfect balance of mixed greens with all of the good stuff - chicken, blue cheese,... I usually end up with a pile of leftover lettuce after I pick out the best bits lol. We saw another table order a piece of chocolate cake so we got one to go. We enjoyed it later and it was divinely chocolately without being too sweet. I even liked the frosting which I usually remove because it's too sweet! I will definitely be returning next time I'm in DeWitt!!! Thanks for a great lunch! Easter Brunch looked great advertisement online. Just hope they work next year to keep the food hot over the time when buffet is advertised. Most was barely warm except chicken was hot if taken from the middle. No French Toast available maybe kids should have asked for few pieces. Possibly using smaller aluminum serving containers would keep things warm. Homemade cinnamon rolls or brownies would have been nice for a dessert rather than just store bought pastries and donuts. We did like the fresh fruit and yogurt for parfait. It will be nice to try the regular menu during the week when we travel by next week. read more

I've had quite a few lunches at this gem. The food is always outstanding with great service. I was pleasantly surprised with all of the space in the new location. During my most recent visit I ordered the baked potato with just the toppings I wanted and it was the best I've ever had. read more

I ordered the Morrocan Chicken. While it was adequate for lunch, the plate has an "identity crisis". The plate was more Indian than Morrocan. Indian spice in a North African dish...lol I guess it meant for those that never tasted moorish food. If you ask me, I would not go there again! read more

We just had lunch here and I had a meatloaf sandwich, and let me tell you that was so delicious . My two coworkers had a picnic style lunch and they also enjoyed theirs very much. This is a great spot for lunch. The homemade soup was delicious. They changed the oriental shrimp salad to chicken for me.

This is exactly what this small community needs. They offer lunch, dinner, snacks, bakery items and more! Their website is not quite up and running yet but they are very active on their facebook page. I cannot wait to take the whole family in here. read more

If you're looking for a great spot in DeWitt this is the place! Cool vibe and the food was excellent. The only thing that I would say was somewhat lacking was the apple pie that I got. It was cold (not just room temperature) as if it were just pulled out of the refrigerator and seemed to have a lot of corn syrup in the filling. This is quite a find in the middle of rural Iowa! I just enjoyed one of the finest Rueben's I've ever eaten. A very large helping of corned beef, topped by a generous amount of sauerkraut, and on marbled rye cooked on a panini maker - it was just fantastic. The fully loaded baked potato soup was a nice complement. The place has a tasteful and modern decor. I highly recommend it! read more

Went for lunch with a coworker on 11/23. I had been previously told next time I come in I should have a seat and I would be waited on. We sat and waited for menus, it was about 1140. We placed our order for soup and sandwiches. We waited while others around us who came in after got served. At 1210 we asked when our food would be out, she checked, said another ten minutes! we have an hour lunch! The waitress got rude asked if we wanted to cancel our order, after wasting our lunch hour! We asked for it to go, they charged us with no compensation or sincere apologies! I think she forgot to turn in our order! She had no compassion, no manager came out. I love their food but this just killed it for me! That hour lunch is my relaxing time, and they ruined it! read more

Excellent. A short distance to great food and fast service. Friday night prime rib was flavorful, with a crusty dry-rub edge and just enough fat to melt in your mouth. Baked potato with the regular toppings but taken to a new level with all types of options. A fresh salad with heirloom tomatoes and house dressing. Butter not margarine or some other chemical spread masquerading as real. Plus a heirllom tomato side dish. Presentation was great. Washed it down with complimentery fruit-infused water. Also BYOB. A case of desserts offered lots of choices beyond cheesecake, including cupcakes. read more

We had tried the sandwiches before, and they were wonderful. Tonight we ordered the prime rib. The meal was delicious with generous portions of prime, grilled vegetables, baked potato and salad. Food is fresh and well made. We had the Greek salad and the wedge salad. They were very good. The staff was very helpful and kind. On a diet or would have had something sweet, they looked fabulous! Only thing missing was wine. read more

We arrived at 6:30 PM. There were a few tables filled and one customer finishing their order at the register. You order at the counter and then move to the register to pay. One woman had a to-go order. Our friends ordered and got their food immediately. They sat down and the to-go lady stepped ahead of us. She proceeded to take every container out of her three to-go bags and check each container. She then made several requests for extra items. Requesting each item separately. All the while our food sat there getting cold. The counter girl seemed flustered and had very little idea what she was doing. By the time she walked s-l-o-w-l-y back to the kitchen and back to the to-go customer several times, we had waited at least 10-15 minutes. When it was our turn to pay the counter girl had to ask us what we ordered. Our food was sitting right in front of her. The food was delicious. I would go there again, but their ordering and paying process needs work. Perhaps a separate line for to-go customers. Also the plexiglass shield where you order is so high and communication with the person taking your order is difficult, you have to shout so she can hear you. Perhaps there should be a separate line for to-go orders. read more
