Grateful that the truck was outside my workplace as I was there for an early meeting. Got the double shot cappuccino with the Bacon sandwich. The sandwich was good, I wish it had a few more bacon slices. Service was friendly and was faster than I expected. Self-ordering was a help. It's a food truck so it was stationed at our parking lot, it's grab/order and go, no tables and chairs. Had them for my twins bday party at a park and was expecting about 100+ guests. Everyone loved the smoothies and the coffees. The smoothies were a hit during the day and the coffees were a delicious treat after sun set. The staff was so helpful and they even warmed up my milk for my 1 year olds' bottles. Thank God for wonderful parents who generously arrange coffee trucks to come to our school for staff appreciation :-) Urban Espresso was the perfect, much-needed afternoon pick-me-up. We got free drinks from 11am-1pm, and they were really good! Today, I was craving something sweet, so I was debating between the Strawberry Banana Smoothie and Nutella Latte (which I heard was rlyyy good). However, when I went up to order, I spotted the Turmeric Almond Latte that was not on the original menu and decided to order that one last-minute. The latte itself wasn't sweet at all, but it helped to curb my craving for sweets for sure. I did enjoy the strong taste & smell of turmeric, but wished it were creamier. It's challenging to work with nut milk, but considering that, I thought the latte art was beautifully done! I also liked that they had three alternative milk options: almond, oat, and soy. When I am hosting an event in the future, I'd love to book the Urban Espresso coffee truck. Reading from other reviews, their food is really good too, so maybe I'll try their food + drink truck next time I have the chance. read more

Finally got a chance to try Urban Espresso.... I ordered the bagel breakfast sandwich and the passion fruit peach tea, and both were Amazing!!! The sandwich had so much flavor, everything blended well together. Not sure if the bagel sandwich is on their usual menu because it was posted on the truck away from the menu board. Ordered hot Nutella latte and iced-coffee twice from them as they came to where I go to work. I redeemed the check-in offer ($1) for the first time, and they honored it. However, they refused to let me use my check-in offer during my second purchase. The cashier said that's for new customers only. Portion of the drink is smaller than other coffee shops, and price a bit on the upscale side (I understand it is because of convenience as it is at my work place). We hired these guys for our wedding and they were SO WORTH IT. First of all, they're a vibe. The bar, the espresso machine, their personalities (so friendly and professional), everything. The lattes were so yummy. I really appreciated they allowed us to use an alternative milk (my now husband has a dairy allergy) and that they have non coffee options (matcha! Chia!). The little foam designs were icing on the cake. All the guests thought it was an awesome touch. People literally started ignoring the bar and going for the coffee. What does that tell you? LOVE their nutella latte! Always a must-have to help stay awake before long lecture classes. So grateful that this coffee truck is right next to the USC campus. I tried the hazelnut latte as well but I definitely prefer the nutella latte more because of the added chocolate flavor. The difference between the two drinks according to the barista is that the nutella latte has both housemade hazelnut and nutella syrup. Its a good truck that serves coffee and a few food items. But considering all that? Its not bad at all. I was expecting the worst. I was pleasantly surprised. Only thing i advise for people is to not ask for the simple syrup because its the bottled "Monin" syrup. Just in case you don't like that. I will give them the sugar packets to throw into the cup before hand. I will be heading back. I would rather go here than starbucks or coffee bean down the street if i am at USC if i have to stay close to campus. Natures Brew on hoover is horrible. read more

The coffee here is redonkulously good. Loved my latte. So this rating is based primarily on the coffee- I would actually give the coffee five stars. I was very disappointed with my breakfast. For nine dollars for an omelette from a food truck I was expecting something good. The omelette was a Hulking sea of greasy eggs with just a bit of spinach and mushroom. It also included tomatoes which I did not order. It was so greasy and monotonous that I could not finish it. And the "toast" it was supposed to come with was a very soggy piece of bread which had been stuck right on the eggs, so it was steamed and wet. I would not get breakfast here again, but this is a great place for coffee and I'm rating it on that basis so that people still find it on yelp if that's what they're looking for. Definitely good quality lattes and the latte art aesthetic never hurts either. But I also ordered the matcha latte and although the drink was pretty, it was definitely not good quality matcha. Either the matcha itself had sugar mixed in or they added way too much sugar, because the flavor of the matcha was completely masked by milk and sugar. We absolutely loved our experience with Urban Espresso! We recently booked them for a large wedding (500+ guest) not only was the coffee delicious but it was beautiful. Every latte with a design they stood consistent until the end. The bride (a huge coffee lover) was extremely pleased with the experience her guest had. Let me first say, it's very rare that I order food and beverages from street vendors or food trucks because I'm extremely particular about what I consume and the cleanliness of where it's coming from. I was pleasantly surprised to show up my dispatch hall (ILWU Casual Hall) and see the Urban Espresso trailer. I'd never seen nor heard of it before but it looked appealing and definitely caught my attention. I figured it had to have a yelp page because it looked so professional. I open up the yelp app and sure enough, they have a page. I read the reviews, checked out the pictures and looked at their website - everything looked great! I decide to order a hazelnut latte, however, in talking with the lady taking orders (Kenia), she recommended the Tiger Chai because I told her my favorite drink at Starbucks is a Chai Tea Latte. She told me theirs was much better and if I didn't like it, she'd exchange it for something else. I couldn't pass up that offer. I get that drink and it's ... AMAZING!!! I couldn't' believe it - it really was better than Starbucks! I had already had breakfast so I didn't want to order food, however, other people kept ordering and it all looked and smelled so good! I finally broke down and order a breakfast sandwich with bacon, eggs and cheese on a croissant. This had to be one of the best breakfast sandwiches I've had! I was very specific as to how I wanted my eggs prepared because I don't like eating eggs and definitely don't want the smell or taste of egg when I do. The chef prepared my food to my liking without a fuss. They have this amazing aioli sauce that was on the sandwich - YUMMY!!! I appreciate that they use quality fresh ingredients and everything is prepared fresh to order. Since my first encounter with Urban Espresso, I now look for them every time I go to dispatch. This is by far the best place to get coffee around the USC area. They can usually be found at the Figueroa/Jefferson intersection during the week-up until 2ish pm. The staff is friendly and nice and the truck is clean and new. I usually order their lattes. They use groundwork beans, which are a little bit more on the acidic/nutty flavor spectrum, but also certified organic. I've also tried a few items from their food menu, and even though I asked them for a few substitutions, they were very nice in tailoring the items to my taste. Ask them for a punch card if you plan to come back! Beware-if they hand you the latte with the lid on, the latte art probably will not be nominated as the masterpiece of the day ;) read more

This place is so bumping good. It's always parked on the corner of figeroa and Jefferson, but sometimes it's hiding a little further down Jefferson. I probably walked past this place 20 times before a new caffeine addiction forced me to stop and try it, and then it knocked my socks clean off. I now go out of my way every Thursday on the way to class to get over here. The only thing I've had to eat so far is their croissant sandwich "The Bacon", but I am 100% positive this is the best thing on the menu and it would be an unforgivable mistake to not order it.
