Food and ambiance were exceptional. What a great atmosphere and the setting is perfect in the Arts District! Angel who works there is funny and definitely the life of the party. We finally made it to Manuela for date night after years of seeing it all over social media. And honestly? The space lives up to the hype. It's inside a massive historic warehouse in the Arts District and the restaurant feels like an oasis hidden inside an industrial building. There's a cool open-air courtyard in the middle where sunlight pours in, so even though you're technically indoors, it feels partially outside. Tons and tons of plants, a beautiful bar and high ceilings make the place feel special. And that's what I wanted for date night. Not just dinner 20 minutes from home, but somewhere that felt special. The food absolutely delivered. The roasted chicken was simple but perfectly executed with juicy meat and crispy skin. The smoked albacore dip with rice chips was subtle, smoky and not overly fishy. Great starter. The soft shell crab was excellent too, but I was surprised that the snap peas and yellow squash alongside it stole the show. Perfectly crisp and farmer's market fresh. I usually don't even care about those vegetables. The drink menu also deserves love. Huge wine list, beautiful cocktails, and super funny cocktail/mocktail names. My wife loved the "Ta Ta Tatiana" mocktail and I had a Japanese lager I'd never tried before and it was great. Now for the reason this is a 3-star review instead of 5. The service just didn't match the quality of the food or atmosphere. The host barely acknowledged us while fake-typing at the computer. The guy who seated us felt like he was dropping off luggage. And our waitress had absolutely zero warmth or energy. Asking her to describe the smoked albacore dip seemed to physically inconvenience her and she almost talked us out of ordering it. Overall, we were just one of her tables she had to drop food off to. I'm not trying to trash people working hard service jobs. I worked those jobs too when I was younger. But when you're charging these prices and creating this kind of experience, hospitality matters. There's so much to love about Manuela. The space is beautiful. The food is memorable. But welcoming guests should feel like part of the experience, not an afterthought. On a side note, although he wasn't our server, but the server for all the tables around us, big shout out to Angel! We longingly watched him as he chatted up his guests and made them laugh as he described dishes and told stories. Give that man a raise. read more

Wow, an amazing lunch at an amazing spot! this hit all the notes for me, easily 4+ stars We had a light lunch: the smoked tuna dip with these giant crisps somewhere between papadum and shrimp chips, also the famous biscuits -these are so fluffy and flaky, and served warm out of the oven, and third an arugula salad that was great, but compared to the other dishes -well it's hard to be a salad, amiright? I also had a phony Negroni that was pretty darn tasty, especially dressed up with lemon carve, a sprig of rosemary, and a big block of ice. The setting is gorgeous, an open indoor-outdoor space inside the Hauser & Wirth gallery, makes you want to just sit and relax all day. And the staff was super friendly. read more

We had an amazing brunch at Manuela a few weeks ago. First off, the space is pretty - an indoor/outdoor setting inside the Hauser & Wirth complex. After eating we were able to wander the garden and galleries a little before leaving. The brunch menu included many unique dishes. We particularly enjoyed the kara kara appetizer - a surprisingly fusion of oranges, chilli crisp, and other ingredients. Also delicious was the mushroom polenta, blistered peas, and cornbread. The eggs benedict comes in a pastry that acted as a edible bowl - certainly unique but tasted like any other eggs benedict - it was good. We will be coming back again and again in the future! *The valet price was steep. Will arrive earlier next time to try to snag some alternative parking. read more

A must stop whenever I find myself near DTLA. The outdoor dining space on a spring or summer afternoon is the best. From service to the dishes coming from the kitchen this is a great spot. Their cocktail program goes with the season, the wine list is well curated (just like a great museum with out of touch master pieces but approachable alternatives). Their cocktail program menu follows the season and offers just the right amount of options. On my last visit the blistered snap peas were so sweet and the char just took them to another level and the crunch of the quinoa was over the top. I am a fan of a long lunch and this is the spot for that. read more

If you're looking for the perfect Sunday plan in LA, start with brunch at Manuela and then wander through the galleries at Hauser & Wirth. They're in the same space, and it makes for such a great experience. This was my second time at Manuela, and it was even better than the first time. The brunch menu is excellent, the food is delicious, and the service is on point. The ambiance is one of my favorite parts... lush greenery everywhere with a relaxed indoor-outdoor feel that's very LA but still feels unique. We had a reservation for brunch and was seated almost immediately after checking in. Thankfully we did because the wait seemed long for those without reservations. Our server was very attentive and through in explaining the menu and providing recommendations since it's our first time here. Beignet - excellent! Super fluffy, slight chewy (tasted like mochi flour?) and not too sweet. Must order. Shrimp & grits - well balanced and good sized portion. It has a little bit of heat but overall very tasty dish. Venison burger - good burger, well balanced flavor overall, but it didn't really "wow". That's not to say it wasn't good. It's definitely still a very solid burger. Vibes are . Whatever the case - it's time to finally share my thoughts ... This most recent visit was during DineLA 2/2026. Dropped in on a weeknight and enjoyed it just like I have before. This was my third time. Parking was the same. Street parking or nearby garages. This time parked in the garage behind the brewery. $25. No validation. Other lots and street parking in the area too. Service was as expected. Excellent. Attentive. Friendly. Efficient. Clearing tables (was seated at a small table and space was an issue with all the plates) and refills. A genuine nice - not something feigned making you feel like the server is working the gratuity. Food was good - see pics. Went with the DineLA menu (Venison) and added a few menu items. And drinks. Enjoyed the ingredients and how everything blended together. It may not be for all, but the dishes that this team offers works for me. By the way, there's a bar - which I didn't know is open before dinner. Had a few cocktails before dinner until my table was ready. On another note, there's both indoor and outdoor seating. By far one of my favorite restaurants I've tried this year. Such a cute, chic, aesthetically pleasing spot. We came for dinner not expecting much, but I am now emotionally attached to those biscuits. They were AMAZING. The cocktail list had a great sense of humor, and the wine list was extremely long -- I couldn't decide. I went with the Spritz'er I Barely Know Her... she was cute, refreshing, and definitely a must-sip. Wow! I must go again cause we had a lovely dinner last night! I was looking for a place that was dog friendly and had some vegetarian options for my friend and this checked all the boxes. We didn't end up brining her little pup, but the ambience was so inviting, luxurious, and natural. Surrounded by greenery and well kept patio furniture, stylistic and industrial fixtures, it was a space you wanted to stay in. The food was superb as well. Biscuits and butter were a HIT and recommended by our server. The burrata salad, so fresh and tasty as a starter. And the artichoke and Lima bean dish was delicious, satisfying, while light. And one of our favorite parts, the SPRITZ HER I barely know her drink! The St Germaine spritz they make here is worth coming back ALONE! We ordered a handful of bites to try: - pear arugula salad - venison burger - albacore dip - shrimp and grits - steak and eggs - cornbread Full transparency, my favorite item from our brunch was the cornbread. I celebrated my birthday here, we enjoyed every plate that was shared. The arugula salad with pear was super fresh and slightly sweet. The pork chops were cooked beautifully, tender and juicy with great seasoning. The halibut was flaky, moist, and really clean flavors that didn't feel heavy at all. We also loved the biscuit with butter and honey -- simple but very delicious , warm and comforting. Must Order! The smoked albacore dip with rice chips was addictive and packed with smoky flavor. Even the roasted cauliflower impressed us, was really tangy and perfectly caramelized and not just an afterthought veggie side. For dessert, we went all in. The blood orange sorbet was refreshing. The service and the vibe are great. It's a versatile spot - a good spot for casual date night, a little dinner with colleagues, or a casual dinner with friends. However, I would knock points off for their food. I tried several dishes and wasn't very impressed. The tiger prawn dish was spicy but a bit mild in flavor and not very memorable. The duck dish was the same. The best thing about this place seems to be their biscuit tbh. So, a spot to go for some good drinks and apps but eh for dinner. It's been a while since we had visited this beautiful greenhouse like restaurant and bar. We are somewhat familiar with the bar cause we come in for a few martinis whenever we are in the area. They make great vesper and grey goose dirty martinis. We made a last minute reservation through Resy Amex global dining. The host guy was very nice to seat us as soon as he could! I am glad that this place is still so popular and thriving. As it should be, the brunch experience was nothing but perfection! The menus were big with extensive food and drinks. It's California cuisine but many items looked Spanish to me. For food we decided on albacore dip, shrimp aquachile, two orders of baked oysters, clams and side of potatoes. Also lemon cake and pear sorbet as desserts. Quite a few vesper and grey goose dirty martinis to go with our amazing tapas. And matcha latte oat milk and double espresso for food coma. The food was absolutely amazing and I liked the tapa portions. Our waitress was so friendly and attentive, in fact all workers were so fast and helpful. It's rare to see fast service at a lot of restaurants these days. I was very impressed by their high service levels! We should and will come in for full meals more often! read more

Manuela is absolutely gorgeous with its rustic decor filled with greenery everywhere. The space is outdoors, but covered so it feels like you're indoors. We came in winter and they had the heater on, which actually got too hot for us so we asked to turn it off. I love the farm to table vibes --but they really do have garden beds where your food is grown. We were a big group of 9, so we ordered a variety of appetizers to share. The Cream Biscuits ($14 for 3) are an absolutely must --wowow! Also loved the Cast Iron Cornbread ($17) and Louisiana Shrimp Aguachile ($23). They even made the salads taste amazing with both the Burrata ($24) and Chicories ($25) with the latter being the most impressive. For the mains, we all got our own plates and I ordered the Roasted Liberty Duck Breast ($56). I loved the presentation and how it was already sliced for you too. I also tried a bite of the Porkchop ($55) and Venison Burger ($30), but didn't think the burger was worth and needed an aioli or ketchup. Our group really splurged with desserts and drinks as well. I had the Honey-Dew Me ($20), which was tasty. For desserts, we had 3 of the 4 main desserts and loved the Maple Blue Cornbread ($16) the most. Overall, such a delicious meal. Great brunch place for any occasion; a true gem in the Arts District, with its beautiful indoor/outdoor seating and proximity to museums/businesses/restaurants/bars. Everything about this place is high quality, including the customer service. They offer a pretty large and diverse menu, and I dined for brunch this time. I made a reservation online ahead of time, which I recommend doing, as this place is popular. The reason it's not 5 stars to me, is because I personally didn't care for either of the dishes I got (pictured: French toast and popover eggs Benedict). Manuela feels like a beautiful oasis tucked away in the Arts District. The decor is beautiful and most of the seating is open-air. Our server told us that if we try one thing it has to be their Cream Biscuits, and she did not lie. The fluffy on the inside and crisp on the outside biscuits come out piping hot and melt in your mouth. They're served with a luxurious whipped butter and aged country ham. The combination of salty ham and sweet butter are what dreams are made of. Their menu features seasonal produce and they describe themselves as "modern heritage American with regenerative agriculture and sustainability at the forefront". I wanted something light for my main so I went with the Roasted Local Oyster Mushroom served in a charred leek aoli. You really can't go wrong with a mushroom/leek combo and it was delicious. Each dish and cocktail was presented beautifully, and this is a great place for an elevated meal that's sure to impress. read more

I've always heard so much about Manuelo and was absolutely enamored by my first visit! My friends and I went to grab brunch over the weekend, and first off, we were seated in an open space that was technically outside but still had a roof over us with lots of surrounding plants like a greenhouse, and you could see the sky very clearly - which was absolutely gorgeous with the clear and sunny weather. It was so hard to order because everything on the menu sounded so good! We started off with the biscuits and trout tartare; I feel like I've had a lot of biscuits in general so I didn't have high expectations, but I kept on eating the moment I tried them because they were so buttery and flaky and perfect with the apple. The tartare came with these savory garlic bread slices that were nice and crunchy in contrast to the biscuits. The trout itself has a slight salty/fishy essence but balances out well with the other dishes. We added the butterball potatoes, which personally I thought was just okay because it was a bit bland for my taste but my friends really liked them - they were just potatoes imo but they were cooked really well with a crisply cooked skin. We also got the green salsa chilaquiles, which was considerably well portioned for the four of us. It's very creamy but fresh with an herbal fragrance from the cilantro and mint, and there was a balance of crunchy and soft chips doused in the salsa. We wanted to order more, especially from the dessert menu, but we were already stuffed at that point...definitely coming back to explore more of their dishes like their cornbread and burger. I teeter between 4 and 5 stars. I will say that I enjoyed my lunch here. I brought my work team here for a holiday lunch and I really enjoyed it. However, my team seemed to be luke warm on it so that is the reason for my teetering. If it were me alone, I would say five stars. I loved the location and I loved the open and airy look of it. It is inside of a building (so don't think you've missed it) and you walk a few steps before you'll find it to the left. There's a lot of cool stuff surrounding the restaurant like a garden and chickens so take a look if you have time. For appetizers, we got the cornbread which I loved but others on my team thought it was missing the corn, lol. That's probably why I liked it because I'm not a huge fan of cornbread. We also got the smoked albacore dip (looks very cool) which we all loved and the buttering potatoes which we all loved. For lunch, I got the chilaquiles which I enjoyed. Someone else got it at my table and asked for 2 ingredients to be removed and of course, they didn't enjoy it. Manuela is a beautiful restaurant located in the heart of the Art District. I work so close to Manuela and this was my first time, I have been missing out all these past years. We were seated upon arrival on a Saturday for brunch. We shared the albacore and the biscuits. The albacore was delicious and the biscuits were soft, buttery which combined with the pumpkin butter made me feel being in paradise. I ordered the popover Benedict and requested avocado instead of ham, this plate is definitely a must try. For dessert we ordered the beignets. The portion was very generous so be aware! Wow wow wow wow, dare I say best food and vibes in LA?? First off, the atmosphere is impeccable. It's that inside/outside warehouse loft vibe done perfectly, super cute, super trendy, and still cozy. Drinks were a total win. The menu has so many fun, unique options. I got the white sangria and loved it; not too sweet and super refreshing. My friend had the POG sour, which was delicious, fruity, and not overly sweet. My other friend had a mocktail she really enjoyed. Now the food... to die for. We started with the trout tartare, and honestly the crostini that came with it was unexpectedly amazing. Then the cornbread, which was so good I could easily eat four. We shared the poached eggs with green lentils, which were really good, the mushroom and polenta cake, which was rich and delicious, and the venison burger, which might be one of the best burgers I've ever had. The space is stunning and so open - perfect for a celebration or just for fun. Everything on the menu looked delicious but we opted for the biscuits, persimmon and chicories salad (seasonal I believe), the Benedict popover, and snap peas. The biscuits were truly stellar - buttery and dense but flakey at the same time! The pumpkin butter it came with was delectable. We came as a group of 4 to this restaurant inside the LA art district for dinner and were immediately impressed by the ambience. However, it was hard to find it because it was inside an opening of another art exhibit storefront. The space is lovely, featuring lots of plants and a distinct, pleasant aroma. I think it was eucalyptus essential oil. It was a very good, soothing environment. I had high expectations. Unfortunately, although our waiter was friendly, we rarely saw him and our empty water jug went unnoticed for several minutes, which was odd because the restaurant was not that busy. Our food also came out late. Once were done with our apps, our entrees came out thirty minutes later. We wondered where our food was several times. For appetizers, we ordered the albacore dip and biscuits, which were the highlight of the entire meal. The biscuits were warm, flakey, and buttery. Our table ordered the half chicken, venison burger, duck breast, and scallops. My half chicken was a bit overcooked and dry and definitely needed more sauce. The duck breast and the other dishes were satisfactory but didn't stand out enough to justify the cost. The food quality and the slow service don't justify the price point. This restaurant is not worth the price. I had high expectations due to the ambience and high price point. Manuela in the Arts District is one of those spots that looks amazing the second you walk in, a relaxed but refined restaurant set inside the Hauser & Wirth arts complex with beautiful indoor/outdoor space and a lush courtyard garden that just feels like LA dining at its best. The farming concept here shines on the menu seasonal, locally sourced ingredients make dishes that are both thoughtful and fresh. The cream biscuits, especially, are a highlight and something people actually talk about after leaving. I say the vibe is ideal for brunch, a date. Came here for an end-of-year brunch with a friend and it was such a great way to end 2025! Manuela is a beautiful space with delicious food. The barbacoa sandwich was stunningly delicious. Service was friendly and attentive. Can't wait to dine here again and check out their dinner menu. Highly recommend! read more

Friends took me here for my birthday dinner and it was amazing. First of all, there is a cute garden you can walk around while waiting for your table. Everything we ordered was fresh and definitely shareable so you can try all the flavors. The biscuits are a must have - flaky and buttery with additional butter and prosciutto yum. We ordered another! Cornbread was good too with the honey however I definitely preferred the biscuits. The peas are fresh and cooked perfectly with a crunchy bite. Cucumbers with burrata was an interesting combo but it worked as a healthy side. Nectarines were so refreshing to start with. Potatoes with the shishito peppers were delicious. Scallops were cooked perfectly and although the portion size looks small, it was filling especially after all the starters. Chocolate mousse cake for dessert was a sweet treat to end with.
