Prosciutto with arugula and fig jam
    Corina A.

I was looking for a place to have lunch in DTLA and came across Sandcouch Cafe. First impression was there were lots of people dining here and almost every table was taken and a bit loud too. I walked to the counter to place my order with the friendly lady at the order counter. I ordered a blueberry matcha and a prosciutto with arugula and fig jam. I looked around to see where I could grab a seat but only found a seat at the counter bar area. I went to sit down and shortly after my matcha was ready. Their menu said they buy their matcha from Japan so you know you are getting quality matcha. It was delicious. About 7 minutes later my sandwich was ready and a nice gentleman brought it to me. I was pleasantly surprised after my first bite. The bread tasted like it was made in house and super soft and fresh. All of the indents paired really well together and tasted so good. The fig jam gave the sandwich a little sweetness but not overly sweet. I will definitely come back and try other items from their menu when I'm in the area.

What an absolutely amazing place to stumble upon! I've been three times in the past two days. So why four stars and not five? Yikes, when you add milk to the tea, it becomes an $8.15 tea. That's... a bit much. I'll pay for quality loose leaf, but.. almost a tenner? Have also come for lunch; hubby had one of the avocado breakfast burritos and devoured it so quickly. I opted for the Club wrap - the bacon had an amazing flavor to it, which really made the wrap pop (a little bit of spice). The decor is super cute and the overall restaurant is very clean. High marks for that. Don't come if you're on a budget, but if you're OK with splurging a bit, I highly recommend! 2026: 16/100

Where's the bacon and egg or who ordered the tater burrito

Clean, warm, and cozy space. The baked goods are well presented and inviting. So why 1 star? Opening a restaurant in Los Angeles isn't easy--but doing it without a properly dialed-in kitchen is even harder. Add a poorly executed menu, and the results show. Take a look at my photo of the breakfast burrito: missing bacon and egg. I opened what was supposed to be a bacon burrito to add salsa (which, to be fair, was very good) and found lazily prepared fillings and what tasted like leftover bacon from the day before. I'm being tough because of the location--7th and Grand is prime real estate. Being busy wiping tables doesn't justify 4-5 star reviews if the food isn't there. This place needs someone to step in and help with the kitchen and flavor profiles, because right now they're just not working. Good luck--I'll be back, and I hope it improves.

I have ordered dine in, to go, and delivery. Food is always delicious, prepared and packaged great. My favorite thing on the menu is the avocado bacon croissant sandwich. Make sure to order it with a side of chipotle aioli sooooo good! Parking sucks but you'll find street parking and parking garage across the street if you are dining in.

Breakfast burrito was delicious. Homey latte was good, if you're not a fan of too sweet, ask for less sweetener.

Best matcha in DTLA! The blueberry matcha is very unique & adds a subtle fruit taste. I finally tried their machaca burrito during my visit & I highly recommend it. The flavors were great & the texture was perfect. I'm a regular & customer service is always top notch. You may sometimes see the owners working in the cafe too, making sure their employees continue to provide great service. The ambiance in the cafe itself is very welcoming & clean. Great place to do some studying if bringing your laptop. Overall you should definitely give this place a try if you're in DTLA!

I work in Downtown and often stop by for lunch. I don't usually leave reviews, but this spot deserves one. Amazing matcha -- smooth, earthy, and not overly sweet. The food is seriously good too (don't skip the fries!). The place is always clean and well-kept, which is a big reason I keep coming back!

Sandcouch is a cute little cafe in downtown L.A. The space is bright and inviting with plenty of places to sit and enjoy your order: Their breakfast items were delightful, so much so that I ordered food there two days in a row when staying in the area. They have a full coffee bar, and fresh baked goods available as well. Definitely worth a visit!

Ambiance: it's a spacious and trendy cafe place, high ceilings and comfortable seats, good place for quick bites Service: the cashier was nice and efficient, but either their manager or owner seems rude, when I found rotten leaves in their food and brought to his attention as a courtesy after I'm done eating and about to leave, he kept denying and saying it's not rotten, well you can't wake a person who is pretending to be asleep, overall it would have been a four star place, but one star off for ingredients not fresh, and another star off for the unprofessional attitude Food: plenty choices for breakfast and lunch, also there's pasty and coffee menu Grilled Pastrami Sandwich on Sourdough - ** Black Navel Pastrami, Swiss Cheese, Lettuce, Tomatoes, Sourdough, side of arugula salad, the pastrami meat was tasty although a bit salty, the lettuce was't fresh, so disappointing, obviously rotten from photos Price: moderate portions and slightly overpriced for the food quality, although it's understandable for downtown location

Decided to give this cafe a visit after walking past it multiple times. Decided to order their machaca breakfast burrito and it was so freakin good. Lots of meat, melted cheese, and crispy tator tots inside. Comes with a side of delicious salsa. Service was excellent and loved the decor and vibe inside the restaurant. Pro tip: Sit by the window if you love to people watch. Will definitely come back!

Cute, bright, and airy cafe serving breakfast and lunch. The bacon breakfast burrito was tasty. Cashier was friendly. She told me a few things people liked such as mortadella sandwich & other items. Great addition to Downtown; if you come on a Saturday, make sure to go stop by the mini South Park farmers market down the street. The only thing I can think of is the seating could be more comfortable, like maybe add cushions? I like the music playing in the background which wasn't too loud.

I come to this place every morning and usually spend over $70, so I'm a regular customer. The food is good, which is why I keep coming back. Unfortunately, the customer service has been very disappointing, especially from one employee named Vanessa. This is not the first time she has been rude. This most recent visit, she slammed the pen down and threw the receipt on the counter instead of handing them to me. On previous visits, she has rolled her eyes and appeared very annoyed. She often looks unhappy, tired, and like she doesn't want to be there, which really affects the experience. I understand everyone has bad days, but consistent rude behavior toward customers is not acceptable, especially for regulars. I hope management addresses this because the food is good, but the customer service needs serious improvement.

Just under a year since SOUNDCOUCH first opened and on my first time here, I like the design (ie eat-with-a-view), clean vibes, appetizing menu etc. Nice and helpful staff but I have to say, the grilled chicken sandwich I ordered for $18? A letdown in most every way. Stiffish bread, too sweet grilled onion bacon jam, overcooked chicken that might've been frozen as it's chewy, my green salad side w honey-mustard dressing turned out to be nothing, merely arugula and drizzled over in lemony olive oil... After tax and tip, I dropped close to $25 here. Very disappointing.

During a…read morelazy afternoon after visiting the Pantheon in Rome, we had our first experience with All'Antico after taking a 5 minute walk down the road. They actually had 2 separate locations flanking the pedestrian road, so there were two long lines snaking out in opposite directions. While we were waiting in line, we bumped into a couple from Spain who were also visiting. They gave my wife some personal recommendations, advising we get the blood orange soda with our sandwiches. After getting said sandwiches (the La Paradiso), we nibbled on them while walking to Sant'Ignazio of Loyola Church, which is that cathedral where there's a mirror directed up towards the murals on the ceiling and a huge selfie line. Hot damn were those sandwiches good. The thinly sliced mortadella paired perfectly with that buttery, green pistachio spread. The only challenge for my taste buds was the mild oral trauma I sustained from punching through the crispy bread; your gums started to feel it by the time you devoured your sandwich. But we liked it so much that when we later took the train to Florence, we sought All'Antico again at their original location. I thought that would be my last experience with All'Antico (unless, of course, I came back to Italy). So imagine my surprise when later that year I heard All'Antico had coincidentally opened a branch in Los Angeles, although rather awkwardly situated in Koreantown. Even though we live 30 minutes away, we made the drive immediately. There was no way this remote All'Antico location, thousands of miles from Italy, would live up to the experience I had in Rome earlier that year. But I was mistaken. Not only is the taste spot on, but the bread they serve is actually chewier and removed the gum calisthenics I suffered in Italy. And yes, they also have the blood orange soda as well. It's a little weird their location is in Koreatown, but not a big deal; we'll usually do a bingsu run afterward. Just like their locations in Italy, All'Antico is small but they do have a small collection of bar seats, some of which overlook the staff as they're making your sandwich. Be mentally prepared though to take it to go depending on how busy it is. Parking sucks too; there's street parking only, but if you come on Sunday you don't have to pay. Every so often now, we'll make the 30 minute drive just to relive that slice of Italy we experienced nearly 2 years ago. Thankfully, not a lot of people recognize how good this place is yet, as the lines aren't crazy long like they are in Italy. For all the other Yelpers in on it too, let's keep it our little secret for now.
