I arrived with high expectations for this place, considering placing some items on consignment to clear out my closet. Online, they appeared to have a selection of nice things. However, from the moment I stepped in, I was ignored; no one greeted me or offered assistance. Instead, staff seemed preoccupied with a live video discussing their new items. While browsing, I examined a handbag I hadn't seen in the Houston Galleria, checking its authenticity by eye, and was shockingly reprimanded for simply picking up the bag for a closer look. This was unacceptable, especially since I've purchased from numerous high-end stores like Saks, Louis Vuitton, YSL, Gucci, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale's without ever being told I couldn't inspect a product. The fact that I couldn't examine or admire the craftsmanship of a bag without issue was a clear red flag and immediately turned me off. I left the few items I intended to purchase and walked out. I do not tolerate poor customer service, and this experience confirmed my decision. nevertheless, The rudeness prompted me to visit the store next door, Spirituality Bold, where I received excellent service and spent three times what I would have here. The store felt kind of empty, I walked around, no one seemed to notice me, when I asked to see a belt from their case, I was told they need to hold my ID, I didn't have it so I offered my phone, that was a no, I walked away. I used to love this store and consigned things from time to time as well as purchased things (back in 2014-2016). I didn't do too bad back then picking up some pocket money from stuff I consigned. My last few visits really put me off though. Besides them turning their nose up at my items, the last time I went in to shop I had to have the front door unlocked to be let in and it was locked behind me. The salesperson kind of followed me around while I looked through the racks even though I was the only one in there at the time. It totally put me off!! Luckily, some other customers came in and I got out of there as fast as I could. I will never shop there again! I will never go there again, and I will never recommend them again. In addition to clothes and shoes, they have accessories such as purses, wallets, and jewelry, including a few items from Tiffany & Co. I eyed a cute Chanel tote and a black Balenciaga city bag behind the counter for a very reasonable price considering how much they are originally. Sample prices that I saw: Hudsons for less than $40, and a Free People dress for $30. The saleslady was very friendly and nice. If you consign with them, you can get 50% cash or 60% credit- not a bad rate! They also offer a 30 day layaway program for purchases over $100. read more

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I have been selling close to Urban exchange for years. In past years I've brought a lot of lulu lemon and vintage and newer designer pieces in beautiful condition and they all have been bought by Urban exchange. Last weekend I stopped in and brought some beautiful pieces by Rag & Bone, AG jeans, and some other high quality pieces from Nordstrom and Intermix. Nothing was purchased. The last few times I've been there a particular woman has been the one to go through all of the clothes and she never buys anything from me although the stuff I bring is better than what they already have on their racks. These experiences have made me not want to make the commute to Urban Exchange after they have continued to waste my time and my gas. Do not sell here, it's a complete waste of time and energy. read more

As a consignor, I was very disappointed in this place. I brought in expensive designer clothes, like new, and they were priced extremely low. After several months I came to pick up a check for what sold and got $25 for the sale of a $400 new dress, $75 top! That didn't even pay for the dry cleaning! Next time I will just give them to the Salvation Army! They treat consignors terribly...When I went to pick the items that didn't sell up, I had to look through the whole store to find them myself. One was not there and I was told they were not responsible! So I got nothing for that item, but it was no loss for them! She didn't care and I got no apologies. She threw my $150.00 designer blouse, that didn't sell, into a bag all wrinkled. When you bring things in for consignment, they have to be on hangers and cleaned but when they are done with them, they don't care how they are returned. Other consignment shops give a much better return and treat their consignors better. I would not come here again! Consignment shops would not be in business if it wasn't for the Consignors...Maybe they should be nicer to the people who keep them in business! read more

While you can find once in a while cute designer clothing for a good price and In great condition I feel like most of the time items at the shop are overpriced. Recently when I visited the store I realized that condition of the clothing they take In is terrible and significantly decreased yet the price tag is still quite high. Some of the Tops had stains,rips or armpit sweat stains which is pretty disgusting as I would not put this kind of clothing out on the floor for sale. They used to have better clothing selection and most importantly clean clothing up for sale. I do agree with another reviewer on here that majority of the clothes there are good will quality. I have never been impressed with the clothes and shoes they sell in this store. Everything is outdated and looks very worn and faded. It's like shopping at a garage sale, but way more expensive. I did find one dress a few months back, but after wearing it once, the seam fell out. I brought in a bag of clothes to sell to them and they rejected all but one of my items and said that they were out of season. Seriously? Everything in this store is out of season! By years! I've been visiting Urban Exchange for about a year now and it's hit or miss at best. They have an assortment of items: shirts, jeans, active wear, jackets, shoes, sunglasses, purses etc. Overall, the quality of the clothing and sunglasses is okay. The shoes and the bags on the other hand, often times look incredibly worn down. Similar to quality you'd see at a yard sale or goodwill. I've sold a few designer bags there and I was offered me a price for it within a few minutes. They say they authenticate their purchases but all I saw that sales associate do was google a description of my bags and offer a price- buyer beware. Sometimes you can find a killer deal on an item that's in excellent condition but that is very few and far between. read more

This is a review for all you ladies out there! I can see why this store is rated so highly...by the women out there. Urban Exchange has so many awesome designer things from which they can choose. All of the major brands are represented, and obviously, they are a fraction of the price you'd find them at a retailer. Here, women can find any and every fashion-related item they could ever want. When you walk in, you're greeted by various accessories (belts, watches, etc), as well as a multitude of tops for any occasion. Are you looking for something casual? Something for work? Something formal? Rest assured, Urban Exchange has what you're looking for. There are racks and racks of various designer jeans, as well. In true Scottsdale fashion, you'll find jeans that would typically cost a normal person a decent chunk of their paycheck. However, here, you're obviously going to get a MUCH better deal than you would normally. Are you a woman who loves designer shoes? There are several racks available in a multitude of sizes for your feet to enjoy...as long as you don't mind wearing shoes someone else has worn. For the REALLY nice shoes, however, there's a glass case towards the back of the store. Here, you'll find your Burberry's, Fendi's, etc. All the way at the back of the store, behind the register, there are high end purses and wallets. Even though you're getting them at a discounted price, some of these items are STILL quite expensive. Either way, top quality stuff, better prices than usual. Alright...now for the guys...as long as you're shopping for your lady friend, you'll be sure to find something you like. If you're shopping for yourself, you'll be hard pressed to find much of a selection. There are only two hanging sections of men's tops just to give you a good idea of how sparse the selection is for men. If you're a woman looking for a great deal on high fashion, you will undoubtedly be in HEAVEN when you shop here. If I could give them negative stars i would because even one star is way too high of a rating for the scam they are. I would always sell my designer items with them. I've sold Prada, Chloe, See by Chloe, Tory Burch, Celine, Rag and Bone, Vince, Emilio Pucci, etc to this store. Like 3 or 4 days ago I took Celine sunglasses, See by Chloe skirt, Rag and Bone blazer with leather trim, Vince shorts, and Tory Burch flats and purse. The Tory Burch purse was the Half moon gold bag retail $498 and was like new. They told me they would sell it for $99 so that they could only pay me 30% of that which would be $30. So I sold everything. Today I see their Instagram they are advertising that same bag I sold them for $199. Double what they told me! So I confronted them about it and commented regarding the scam in their post. They deleted my comment and sent me a message saying they were sorry about the confusion and that I had the option of consignment instead. First of all they never told me about the option of consigning (you leave the item for them to sell them they give you half what it sells for instead of them paying you 30% upfront). Second they didnt even offer to pay me the full 30% of the $199 they are actually selling for to make up for their so called "confusion." Third they do research while you are there selling your items to see how much they can sell it for and what they can pay you so there couldn't have been any confusion. They are just greedy and lied to me to get more money out of the bag. Which is such a scam and shame, if I were you I wouldn't do any business with these people and don't sell your items to them or even consign because if they scammed me they will scam you too. Who's not to say they will tell you they sold your item for less than what they tell you and pay you less. BEWARE! STAY AWAY!
