I have never needed glasses or had poor vision so far in my life. Because my vision was good for most of my life I was hesitant to go see an eye doctor. After two years of delay (I'm turning 40) I made an appointment. The team at Unban Optix made me feel welcomed. They worked with my insurance for minimal out of pocket expenses and explained why my eye sight was deteriorating all of the sudden. The staff person that brought me to the exam room remembered me from the phone, and kindly left the light off because I was sensitive to light. The clinic is neat and organized. Very modern. Was immediately greeted as I arrived to the desk. I was in, getting checked out, within 5 minutes of arriving. My appointment was half an hour. Choosing my frames took an extra half hour because I was picky (totally my fault). Lorenzo was AMAZING at helping me and made me laugh the whole time. Dr.Lee was very knowledgeable and forthright about what it would be like to transition to progressive lenses, which was kind of scary for me. Overall an excellent experience. Just moved to the area from CA and needed to find a new optometrist. This place was convenient to my work and looked clean and respectable. Dr. Lee is a great optometrist. Super friendly, down to earth and knowledgeable about new products. ( Sadly, I am getting old and may need to use bifocal type glasses soon.) Picked out some attractive glasses to be used while on the computer with the help of the optician. Everything about this appointment went smoothly. I've been coming to this location for about 2 years now and Dr. Lee is always so sweet, professional, and helpful. Cathy is awesome at fitting frames and even adjusted an old pair while I was there! I particularly like how easy it is to make an appointment (I almost always prefer online) and how quickly they respond to questions via email. They also have a nice selection of frames with nose pads for those of us with short bridges as well as a good price range for glasses (some fancier brands, some local)! If they don't have it, they can also order it from a catalog for you to try on so you don't have to buy it sight unseen. I never felt pressured to buy anything and they do give you the space to just browse at your leisure without hovering behind you. I would highly recommend it! read more

I was going to meet my husband at the Mbar (upstairs) and had time to kill, so I stopped in Urban Optix to see if they happened to have time to do an eye exam, as I was overdue. They squeezed me in. !!!!-STAY AWAY!!!!!!! I have been wearing glasses/contacts for over 25 years. Never have I lost so much trust in the doctor as I have here. I have a high prescription and rely on my contacts/glasses every day, so my eye health and prescription veracity is very important to me. I saw Dr. Lee and asked for a basic annual exam. Upon seeing my high prescription, she told me that she would "increase my prescription power" so that I would qualify for the insurance covered contacts exam. (in other words, she could bill my insurance for another test and I wouldn't have to pay due to it's qualification as a medical condition). I told her I was uncomfortable, and just wanted to get a copy of my real prescription, which she waved off. Sure enough, she produced a prescription of -10.00 which is 200pts higher than my previous screening and told me that my eyes would adjust. She also wrote a prescription of exactly the same degree for both eyes. I have never been the same exact degree for both eyes my entire life. When the trials came in, I tried them on for a day and developed severe migraines and told her I did not want to make such a high jump. She reluctantly agreed and lowered the prescription to my previous doctor's recommendation without testing me. I left after this. The final straw was when I log into my health benefits account months later and find that despite everything, she actually filed a claim for a year's worth of contact lenses that I NEVER BOUGHT from her. This precludes me from ordering glasses/contacts for a year. If you value your eyesight, and your money, do not go to Urban Optix. read more

I love Urban Optix! The entire experience could not have been better! Scheduling was a snap and entirely online, which I appreciate. I was a bit late for my appointment, due to weather and a Lyft snafu, but DJ greeted me with a smile and put me at ease. The customer ahead of me was running really late, so Lorenzo helped me shop for frames. Within a couple of tries, he had my style/needs DOWN. He knew exactly what I wanted, and when he couldn't find it on the displays, he went in back and grabbed a pair that actually belongs to a staff member. He was right, they were PERFECT! Then off to see Dr. Lee. She was amazing! She quickly diagnosed something that has been diagnosed by eye specialists, but never in routine eye exams... trust me. It was one of those times where I had one new contact lens remaining in my contact box. Ugh! I was frantically trying to find a place and contemplated the quickie visit to Costco for a refresh on the Rx to refill my contacts. Lucky for me, I found Urban Optix as I was nearby in SLU, I thought I'd give them a try based on the cool frames they had- a huge plus since I appreciate a pair of unique and flattering eye frames. However, it was the technology Dr. Lee used that convinced me this was the right decision to come here. She had the the right balance of service being thorough but not obsessive. Lucky for me, I walked out with a more accurate contact Rx and some awesome frames that I wouldn't have chosen initially but now love! As a person who used to purchase my eye glasses at Market Optical for a pretty penny, I'm so happy that Urban Optix is another option because they have a really cool selection of glasses, and with Lorenzo to help you guide you to frames that can be the most flattering. It may not have been cheap as a Costco run but I rather save those trips for TP and coconut water. read more

Is it weird to love your optometrist? I love my optometrist. Dr. Lee is really fun, super smart, and educational. Her office is super clean (COVID precautions are really great) and her staff is wonderful. I really appreciate that they use some cool tech to take pictures of the back of your eyes and then she walked me through the photos and what was expected/what they were looking for, which was just a cool experience to see the back of your eye. The space itself is really gorgeous, it's modern and industrial and stylish. I also bought my contacts through the shop, which was easy and surprisingly affordable. read more

They were all incredibly knowledgeable and walked me through each step before they did it, letting me know information and allowing me time for questions. Visited the practice for the first time yesterday. Check-in was super easy and the waiting area smells and looks nice. Dr. Lee was very thorough with the exams and explanations, and the best part is there is this machine that works the same as dilating my eyes without the side effects. I wore glasses for 20+ years. I came here because it was close proximity. I was pretty surprised with the price for a simple contact lens exam I ended up paying $210. They make you sign a form to take an additional flashing light exam which is a separate charge but it's not even a different exam from the usual I take. I've never had to pay an extra charge because everything is included. But i guess it's because they are located in Seattle. You are paying for convenience and location. I probably will not be coming back because of the price. read more

I have been to this eye doctor for 2 appointments. Both times the experience has been about amazing as an eye doctor experience can get. The lobby is really nice and in a nice area. The staff is very friendly and starts conversations with you. All of the equipment and rooms are clean, relaxing and look nice.
