You are immediately greeted as you walk into this visually stunning atmosphere. The staff knew who I was and was ready to get the show on the road. Which I appreciate as a busy working Mom. I made an appointment for myself and my 4-year-old son who both have not seen an eye doctor in over 10 years. It was time for a check up and I wanted to get it right the first time. In appearance, you may think this is a hipster bar and kids are not welcome, BUT that is far from true. They were totally equipt with the latest and greatest to keep your kiddos at ease and occupied. During our last visit, I told Dr. we couldn't make it until 15 mins before closing (we live south and both, wife and I work til 4) and even then we didn't get there til after closing... but Dr. and staff waited for us! ::Replying to Traci:: I physically went in a second time, I left the time line here, so people know I waited, as I was uncomfortable going back in, as I should be with your Covid exposure. I listened to the doctor and did not wear my contacts when I was told not to. I used this medicated drops, that left me dizzy and my head feeling super off. I was there 2 different times, you squeezed me in, and it was VERY blatant that this was a RUSHED appt. The time it took to get in and out was about less than 10 min. When you change your answers about my issues, when things did not get better. If you don't want to look like a liar, then take the time and do it right the FIRST TIME AROUND. Not have people take medication that is unnecessary. I am still listening to the doctor that I am now seeing and my eyes have improved only a little, but it's taken THIS LONG. Your prices are extreme, I paid a lot to begin with, and yes you refunded me only AFTER having to come back in a 3rd time. You should be grateful I didn't give you an earful then. You don't want to reply after the 2nd visit and my profanity of wonder what the heck you all are doing there!? Let me say your so called MACHINE that 300 + people go through. My eyes have never been the same since leaving that machine. Go ahead and say whatever you want. I know exactly what I went through and how I felt. You have hard working people there, I love this answer. I am also hard working and get things right, that is also NOT HARD. Oh and GO FUCK YOURSELVES. Enjoy that. DO NOT GO HERE! I have been wearing glasses since I have been about 7-8 years old and have worn contacts since I was 14. I am very adamant in cleaning and the up keep of my eyes. I have never once experienced what I have at this location. The moment I left this location as of Oct 1, my eyes have been red and blood shot since leaving and my eyes also have mucus excreting from them. I wear contacts about 90% of the day and 10% is eye glasses at night when I am preparing to sleep. Anytime I wear contacts it's just red blood shot eyes and mucus from the moment I left. I have been dousing eye drops into my eyes since and they are still not well. Sore, aches and pain, along with the red, I had to come back. I physically went back into this location Nov 18th to see why my eyes are doing this, as I have never had this issue before. Dr. Lee advised me over email it sounds like I have an infection. Once at the office, the help there wanted to do the whole air pressure into my eye again! After I had JUST gone through this and my eyes were already messed up and sore, after explaining to her I had already been through this, she told me she will take me to the doctors office (so clearly no communication between doctor and what patients are coming in for). Once in, Dr. Lee shows up and puts a dye in my eye, to check. And says yup my eyes have a bacterial infection in them, and prescribes a medicated eye drop. Also, when I went to pick up these eye drops I was told by the pharmacist (not the doctor) to use only as directed as they have steroids in them. I do not like taking any kind of medication what so ever, but thought the doctor must know what they are doing and my infection must be that bad. After using my eye drops as directed, I even took a day off to make sure my healing was ok. Put contacts back in and by end of the night my eyes were back to bright red and the following morning my eyes were crusted over with mucus yet again. I had to reach back out to the doctor to ask why this is continuing, and her reply was I must be allergic to my contacts. So me physically being there and getting dye in my eye, being told this is an infection, only to be told I'm now allergic. Then why the F*** am I putting steroids into my goddamn eye for a bacterial infection!? My eyes have never once had this kind of issues and the mixed responses is absolutely ridiculous. This place has absolutely destroyed my eyes, do not go here. You have been warned! ::Update:: Went in for a second opinion. The doctor advised me that I have giant papillary conjunctivitis, and not only did she not blow air into my eye, she flipped my eye lids back. This doctor took time with me, something Dr. Lee and her team clearly did not do, just rushed me in and out without noticing my real issues. The current doctor also advised me that antibiotics can cause more harm than help, and that I should use preservative free eye drops. So not only should I NOT take antibiotics, but definitely not fucking steroids. You do not care about the people coming in, only what's in their wallets. Fucking shame on this office. Again over 22 years of doing this and I have never in my life experienced such disregard for my needs as well as my health. Should be sued and shut down! Fucking joke! Still putting eye drops into my eyes and it's 12/21. This all started back on Oct 1!! Do NOT go here!! If you do, you're putting your eyes at RISK! Again, you have been warned!! read more

I went in for a much overdue eye exam and I had such a pleasant experience! Dr. Lee was very knowledgeable and answered all the questions I had about my eyesight/conditions. We also had a fun conversation throughout the exam! The appointment can be set up online, which was very easy to do and I didn't have to wait at all when I arrived to my appointment. As I woke up on the first day of a long-anticipated vacation, I heard a resounding crack I'd never heard before. I wearily moved my hand to discover my beloved pair of 9-year-old frames snapped in half under my arm. Urban Optix was the only place I could find in downtown Seattle open early (8:30!), and I was able to get an appointment within a couple hours. Both Dr. Lee and Lorenzo were incredibly helpful in guiding me to a better prescription and my first pair of glasses of the decade - I was picky, but incredibly pleased with the decision-making process. The price for my glasses was half of what I paid in 2009, and I couldn't be happier! This place can actually get you in for an eye exam QUICKLY. A lot of places are not able to see patients for months, no exaggeration. As an ICU nurse, I couldn't afford to wait that long, as my safety goggles kept knocking my fragile glasses out of position, making my progressives totally wonky and, it was super clear to me that my prescription had changed anyhow. The staff here go above and beyond to help hone your prescription, select frames, go over lens options, and deal with insurance 100% (I have VSP). They can order in frames from brands they sell, if your color or style isn't on the shelf. If you need prompt, skilled eye care, hit this place up for sure. read more

This review is for the South Lake Union location (400 Fairview Ave N.) I just wanted to ask a simple question about the available brands of eye wear, as in frame selection. The service was cold or unfriendly. I felt completely unwelcome. Perhaps this is because the location is just weird, right next to a food court and part of a small "mixed" retail setting on the ground floor of an office building. Still, it would be nice to greeted as a fellow human being instead of the proverbial cold shoulder. I would never recommend this business to anyone. It all starts with friendly customer service, especially when it comes to eye wear--you generally need help since it's hard to see (or evaluate) a good frame with your current glasses off! Urban Optix has a convenient and easy to find office location in the South Lake Union area. The staff is polite and greeted me promptly upon coming into the office. Even though they were running a little late they were conscious and attentive of the matter. It's always a good time to take a look at new frames anyways. Dr. Lee was professional, knowledgeable and friendly while conducting the exam. She introduced me to new technology for contacts and lenses that will help during a long work day. Dr. Lee is great!! I've been seeing her for a few years and I'm happy to see she's opened her own place. This location is great. It's next to lots of food vendors. She has state of the art equipment and a camera that can take pictures of the back of your eye. Her exams are very thorough and she makes sure she addresses all your needs. Wasted about $500 on this place. Had to pay a few hundred out of pocket for the frame itself. Lens was fine but they couldn't adjust the lens to fit my prescription. It was either too strong or too weak. They sold me on the power enhancement bs for laptop but it doesn't do anything. Just buy frame from them and nothing else. read more
