The vibe of the Urban outfitters is so "urban outfitter". It's a literal warehouse. I remeber visiting when I was younger and use to love all their stuff. It's definetly still a bit hipster, with a variety of cute stuff. They even had a miffy collab where I got a random terrain. I unboxed the miffy terrain with miffy on an airplane. So cute. They have a sale section on the top floor, and it was a little overwhelming and unorganized with hangers on the floor. I think it's a toss it here, forget about it space for them up there LOL. College nostalgia overload! I hadn't been in one of their locations in over 10 years so it was fitting my return was with a friend I hadn't seen in over 15 years! Of course we gravitated towards all the clothes we used to wear and donated years ago - note to self, don't give away all your oldies but goodies! This store was well organized and had a lot of space to not run into other shoppers. Checkout was smooth and in the center of the store - a great way to get people to wander around and discover things they hadn't known they needed before entering! read more

If my daughter is with me out of town find me at an Urban Outfitters in a city somewhere. She loves the brand and I appreciate their unique buildouts often in old downtown buildings. Located on the busiest street in Charleston on King Street in a three story historic brick building that was a former theater. The exterior is undergoing renovation and has scaffolding in front. The interior is a charmer with high ceilings, concrete flooring, open staircase and the original theater facade. The back stage area is used as a changing area. There was no limit to little teen girls everywhere! My daughter tried on a few things, but ultimately no purchase. For me it's the coolest interior of an Urban Outfitters I've seen. read more

Rating this 3 stars for literally being A-OK. Granted, I am not a young middle or high schooler anymore, so maybe that's where my bias comes in. The style of clothing was laughable to me (See pics of manicans I posted) but I know thats also just a genererational gap. There were a handful of clothing items I did actually like (and my friend did as well) but when we check the price tag, it is outrageous. There was a sweatshirt that was mismatched to look as if it were two completely separate sweatshirts stitched together. I thought that was a cool look, check the price tag, and its $100. You can tell the demographic they are catering toward here is 13-19 year olds with a lot of extra money to spare. I know, cause it used to be me. All that negativity and nostalgia aside, this specific Urban Outfitters located in the same location it's been for over a decade, right at the King St. & Calhoun St. crossing near Marion Park. It's a perfect location, and the facility itself is large and beautiful with the high beams and architecture. The store is neat and tidy and the workers appear to be doing their job just fine. So, if you wanna go to an UO, this is the one to go to! read more

Urban outfitters I don't know the history of this building but it was one of the best! I was told it was an original theater and then went on to a community theater and then it was a place that were set up for Art. They still have the original drop-down curtains and the framing, brick and the original chandelier that was placed in there when the building was first built. People were so friendly and it was so clean and organized I WOULD recommend. read more

Often times to find anything unique I end up shopping online. If I'm hanging around downtown though I will stop into Urban and check out what they have. Probably one of the only places around that have slim cut pants and shorts for men. They used to have a larger men's shoe selection. Now they seem to just have toms, vans, and those basic plimsol shoes. Kind of disappointing since I had some good shoe finds there in the past. It also seems that many places around have scaled down there men's sections. Urban included. What I love more than anything about this place is the building. It used to be an old theater called the Garden Theater. Urban bought it and left most of the original charm and worked around it. I must say for a national chain they did a pretty good job of preserving the interior integrity of this building. Don't get me wrong, I would love to clear the place out and throw events there or create a giant studio apartment for me to live in. I don't see that happening anytime soon so I will stick with an occasional visit when I need some new pants. read more

Urban Outfitters on King Street in Charleston is a great place to find clothes, accessories, and many other types of items at a good value. I like the selection as you never know what you are going to find once you start browsing and digging around. I like the feel and vibe of this store as it is wide open and in a repurposed theater with high ceilings and a balcony that is fun to explore and walk around in. The staff here is very helpful and attentive and will make sure that you have everything that you need while you are shopping here. I have found some good items here for myself and also many other gift ideas for others on my gift list. This store felt more like a boutique (brain fart) in downtown santa barbara. Unlike the other U/O stores in Atlanta and S.F., this one was high end. When I mean high end, you walk into the store, and there is a nice selection of shades. First counter was Tom Fords, followed by Oliver peoples, prada, etc. This store felt more like barneys co op. The price tags at the store also followed the barneys too. Friendly service, really clean (very unlike U/O), and attentive team. Instead of filling up the store with all the obnoxious junk one would find at a typical U/O store, they made a wise selection of goods. read more

I love walking through here and checking out the beauty products and random home accessories. I think they have a good selection of sunglasses and some quirky clothing and jewelry too. I'm afraid Sylvia's review is not for Urban Outfitters, but rather for a nearby boutique- sometimes Urban's Outdoor sandwich board sign finds its way in front of other stores? The description and photo seem to be for a different place. So, no high end sunglasses, BUT, plenty of knock-off wayfarers and fake plastic rimmed eye glasses! This is a very large Urban Outfitters, with a huge selection of Women's and Men's clothing, plus books, housewares, and some furniture. Occasionally, they also offer original art from local artists, and sometimes they even have live music. The big draw of this location is the building- it was converted from the Garden Theater, constructed in 1918, and the facade, balconies, and decorative molding were preserved. There are also some really lovely exposed rafters and stage whatsits, plus a chandelier that everyone probably wants to jump on like in Phantom of the Opera. It's gorgeous inside. Even if you aren't interested in cheaply made trendy things, the historical value and charm makes this Urby worth seeing. It's also Charleston's premiere hipster watching venue. Be sure to check out the sale section- it is upstairs in the awesome balconies. read more

This Urban Outfitters is one of the coolest ones I've been to, and I've been to many. The store is set up in an old theatre. You can still see the high and carved ceilings, there is still a visible staging area where they keep the fitting rooms, and a balcony on the second floor. There were staircases in the front and back the layout of the building was very intricate. Merchandise was pricy like any other Urban, I purchased a Champion hoodie but had to order it online because they did not have my size. Free shipping with 5-7 business days. First off I live in Greenville SC. So there are no UO out here in Gville.O_OSecondly I have been to a UO before and this one is by far the biggest store I've ever seen. As usual a lot of great urban and trendy clothes for guys and gals alike. They even have a whole section on the second floor for just "on sale" items. But they have a lot of stuff for your home too. Everything from music records, funny coffee mugs, shot glasses, books, and even randomly a Sega system with built in games. It's really is a fun place to shop and just look around. People are nice there too so that can only help! read more

The architecture of the building they chose to open shop in is enough for me to check this place out regularly. It's an old original Charleston theatre and absolutely beautiful. I'm a fan of Urban Outfitter clothing, although it's a little more pricey than I prefer to spend. I honestly think their men's clothing and style is better than the women's. UA fabrics tend to hold up longer than H&M or Forever 21. I usually adore their shoes and handbags. They have some unique and quirky gifts. It's definitely worth a browse to see what you can find. read more

This is probably the most beautiful UA store I have ever gone to. The clothing selection was about the same as any other, but the fact that this store used to be a theatre makes this location just a little cooler than the rest. Definitely go in just to check the building itself out. read more

Maybe it's because I'm getting older or maybe my taste has just evolved, but I haven't had much luck finding anything at UO in a while that has made me want to throw money at it. They do have some unique things for your home but the majority of the clothing is over priced for the quality. The customer service here is also sub par at best. This location is beautiful though. Love how they've maintained a lot of the original fixtures from when it was a theater. If you shop here, head upstairs to check out the sale section since it's hard to justify spending the dough on the regular price stuff, you can find some deals on sale usually. read more

Today I had a very disappointing experience at my favorite store, Urban Outfitters on king street in Charleston. I was wearing a shirt that my mom had got from urban for Christmas and had forgotten to take the tag off. I was stopped and accused of stealing the shirt. The GM was extremely disrespectful and invasive. I was publicly humiliated for no reason. I finally got to find the confirmation email from my moms email address and even after I have her proof I received no apology from the manager. I am extremely disappointed with this experience and feel very betrayed because of how loyal I am to the company. I will not be returning and I expect an apology. read more

Probably the best UO I've been to in the south, its got a decent selection and a huge sale section. It's always packed, but that comes along with the King Street territory. The staff is much more bearable then most locations, I didn't get the 'holier than thou hipster vibe' that UO usually reeks of. read more

But most of all its the way it's decorated that I like the most . I love the clothing and accessories that urban has to offer, but the Charleston location has the rudest "dirty hipster" staff I have ever encountered. I would rather pay the shipping fees that have to deal with them again. I have been to many Urban outfitters from Massachusetts all the way down to SC (and all the little ones in NYC, NJ) and the Charleston one is my fav! The store is huge its actually very pretty. The people are gems. The sale section is always big literally a small store itself. The line associates are great about making the line move quickly. You Charlestonians don't know how good you have it there. If my NY locations were as accommodating I would stop in at least once a week. read more
