The most impressive thing was their customer service. I asked to try on a dress and pair of wedges .By the time I made it to the dressing room they had delivered the shoes in my size to the room. What? That never happens. It does here with their friendly and fast customer service I can see why this shop was hopping. Lines moved fast for check out and they were so apologetic of the wait even though it was less than 5 min. Great value for your cha ching. Absolutely will be back!! read more

I only shop here once in a while but today's visit was worth writing a review for! There were several workers that were super helpful and friendly (didn't get their names). One of them was folding clothes and asked if she could start a fitting room for me and gathered my items all together. The other worker that was super friendly was the one that was in charge of the fitting rooms. She made helpful suggestions and even helped me find a smaller size in some of my items. I came on a weekday around 5:30 PM and was pleased with the attentiveness of the workers and the items I purchased! read more

I've always loved Anthropologie, they have the cutest clothes and decor. I personally think this store is set up weird, but maybe I'm just use to the woodlands location. They have a whole section for petites, but the rest of the store is grouped by brand which I'm not a fan of. I wish it was designed by category instead, it's just hard to visualize entire outfits with it broken out the way they have it. Parking is tough, it's hard to find a spot in the area with other popular stores. The employees are very friendly though! read more

This is a review of my experience at Anthro Highland Village, not of the company specifically. I am not sure who is managing and hiring at this Anthro location, but I'd bet there is a great leadership team in place at this time. Here are some highlights from the fantastic customer service at this location: - Truly empathetic staff: I had an emergency surgery and ended up missing out on buying a dream dress I had on hold. When I realized I missed getting it, immediately and authentically the staff member shared a story on how she deeply understood what it felt like to have an emergency that prevented you from getting a dream item, and then shared her own similar story. It made me feel so seen. - I kept having my online order canceled, so a staff member helped me order it through the store. We suspected it would get canceled again, so she gave me about 5 different things to try in order to find the dress. Two minutes later she gave me a callback saying the dress I wanted just got returned in my size and she was putting it on hold for me! Thank you Anthropologie Highland Village! read more

In the past years I have purchased several pieces of wall art and more recently a few dresses however, the customer service here is preposterous. I walked in yesterday with a yellow anthropologie delivery bag in effort to return a few pieces I had just ordered. To my surprise when I walked up to the counter I was greeted with cold "what do you want" ....no "hi, how May I help you". Then when I presented the bag and took out the returns which some where still in their bag untouched I got an annoyed look. There was absolutely, no need to this level of behavior my return equalled to over $400 and the pieces that where not even worn. Ever since I was about 15, the older gals in my family had been shopping at Anthropologie-- I guess it runs in the family because I never thought I'd love this store as much as I do now. Shopping here is either a hit or miss for me. Sometimes the vibe is too bohemian and not professional enough for me, and sometimes it's just right and what I need for casual weekend wear. Although during the holiday season, their counter service is S-L-O-W! I was in line with one item for at least 20 minutes! The woman in front of me and I commiserated on what was taking so long and we couldn't figure it out. There were no obstinate customers; there were no "slow" processing of credit cards. Ah, the familiar scent of the "we're much better than you..." vibe that wafts from the sales associates like the cloying Volcano candles they burn....Let's be real: Anthro is now Kirkland's reinvented. Except: Kirkland's probably has kinder staff! About Anthro offerings: 1. Their once-delicate vintage housewares and dining items are now made in China, mass-produced, and heavy. 2. Jewelry that used to be somewhat unusual, like their agate rings, are now replaced by cheap wire creations, or leather tassels on heavy beaded chains. (so pretty!!) 3. No longer do we see those gorgeous shower curtains or unique containers for garden and home...just the overpriced pillow sham (even in the bargain room, running a sweet $50 for the one sham "on deep discount". ha ha!) 4. The formerly imported stationery, like cards with fabric dresses sewn onto the paper, are replaced by laser-printed tear-off-pads. (Just run to Macy's and buy the "BAN-DO" line of goods for cute stationery - it's cheaper and you can use your Star Rewards!) 5. What happened to the beautiful dresses, romantic, frilly and occasionally edgy? Now they are all recycled t-shirts and boxy skirts. Items that are remotely cute are priced higher than luxe stores like Neiman or Saks, but they are poorly made. Service: I admit, the service spawned this heinous review. Yesterday, I was purchasing a journal and candle, but it was coupled with a side eye when I asked about the discount that was to be provided on the journal (20% off). The young woman made such a show of contacting all the other floor staff on her Janet-Jackson-mouthpiece, asking "ARE WE SURE stationery is on sale?? ALL OF IT?????" -- (might as well have said "because I have a thief standing right in front of me, and I KNOW she is trying to steal a whole $10 off this beaten up journal!!!!). Sigh. Live and learn. Please don't bother with this store, and if you do, make sure you keep your expectations in check. read more

Anthropologie, you are trouble incarnate. I cannot visit you, no matter what city you are located in, without dropping some serious coin. For example, I came in here today with -one- item on my mind. I even laughed to myself, aw shucks, I don't need anything else. I just wanted a gauzy summer romper which would allow me to stay cool and comfortable in this hellacious hunnert degree weather, which does not seem to abate, even with a little rain here and there. Well, that sense of smug pseudo self control was immediately dashed as I walked through their doors. There are currently 3 1/2 clothing racks full of color and texture positioned as soon as you walk in to make a girl stop in her tracks because it's all ON SALE! Keep pushing towards the back and there's a little cubbyhole of a room with more things on sale (this is where they actually relegate sale items, but I guess they're having a bigger than normal sale, like everyone else these days). Not only is clothing on sale, but there's a table with household bric-a-brac--drawer pulls, light plate switches, frames, soaps, cute aprons for gawd's sake!--all on sale. There is plenty of stuff in this store not on sale that will tempt you too. This is Urban Outfitter's older, more sophisticated, but still bohemian sister. I scooped up a whole lotta stuff, but thankfully, I paused in the dressing room and some sanity kicked in. I escaped with the romper, two more basic summer necessities, and two bottles of peel off nail polish ( how fun is that? You can make an appointment in advance and have them pull things for you to try, or have them help you pick out something gorgeous and flattering in real time. 2. Anthropologie is a relative of Urban Outfitters. Their target demographic is actually 5ish years older than I am, but I'm pretty pleased with what I find there. 3. The staff at this location is actually helpful. Seriously helpful. I needed a "creative casual" interview outfit/suit last year, and a salesgirl went far out of her way to bring me a variety of pieces that would work with the pants I had chosen (and I didn't even have an appointment!). 4. The clothing is stylish but sometimes offbeat; it ranges from a SoHo feel to a more Parisian bohemian feel. Don't expect to pay much less than $150 for an outfit, unless you check out... 5. The huge sale section in the back! Seriously great deals on things that underperformed during their season. Sometimes you can really tell why things are back there, but I've found some adorable $15 shirts. 6. The back area also features undies and pajamas, both of which tend to be...adorable! Yep, it's true. 7. As Emily L. covered, the store also sells everything from doorknobs to bedspreads. Great for gifts, even for picky people. Clearly, I love this store. It's airy, it's well laid-out, and the shopping pace is so free and easy. I love the brand, love the selection and service at this location....but.....BUT....the speed at the cashwrap is HORRIBLE. I came in Monday night and spent 20 minutes in line at 8:00 pm just to purchase a top I needed for a business trip. The other associates behind the register decided to excuse herself and clock out. What would've taken two minutes to ring up one blouse had she did her job, took 20 minutes, because I had to wait for the other sales associate to finish up at the register. I don't understand why they have a high volume of clientele, charge as much as they do for their merchandise, but have one or two registers open. It's 8am and I have already browsed Anthropologie's website for the last hour at work. And I plan on taking a 2 hour lunch to run by there. TGIF. I love this store and the staff. They are always quick to start me a fitting room and take the bundles of clothes in my hands to the back every 15 minutes or so. And they don't judge me when I have 30 things to try on... granted, I am usually decked out in Anthropologie clothes so they can probably tell I am going to buy atleast half of what I try on. Thank goodness they don't limit the number of pieces you can take in the fitting room. The prices are high, but the pieces are of great quality and aren't as mainstream as other stores. I know when I buy a dress there, I am probably not going to run into someone else wearing it at a reception, out at a club or at church. When I buy a sweater there, I know it will last more than a couple winters. My favorite thing about this store: The dress selection. Y'ALL. Do yourself a favor and AVOID THIS ANTHRO! I cannot even begin to explain the attitude that these workers have... They were not kind, did not offer to take my many items and put them in the dressing room despite the fact that my arm was literally losing circulation, and when I finally lugged my items to the dressing room, they were so filthy! There was not a chair or bench in the dressing room so I was forced to place my black pencil skirt on the floor (NOTE: I was dressed well, not like some bum, yet these workers still had a rude, condescending, snooty attitude) and when I picked up my skirt it was completely covered in dust. I am the biggest fan of Anthropologie, but this specific location was horribly disappointing. read more

Okay, so a few years ago I loved this store. A few years ago, I had more money too, so maybe that plays a role. The prices keep going up at this place! Now, don't get me wrong, the sales are fantastic in the back, but they usually don't have my size, or it is way too "out there" for me. The quality is okay, but for the prices they're charging, I was something that'll last forever. And the problem is that the clothes are so trendy that you won't ever get your money's worth. (For what it's worth, I'm one of those people who always looks at trendy clothing, thinks it's cute and then moves on to "classic" designs so I can wear them for years.) I will say that the non-clothing items are fantastic--but again, very expensive. The customer service is always great when you go in, so take advantage of that. read more

I think the fact that it's owned by Urban Outfitters just turns me off- it's the same layout. When I walk in it's feel like a warehouse, I have to sift through racks, and none of the clothes are arranged accordingly. There doesn't seem to be a particular theme to the store. Why does it seem like all the tops they sell have crazy patterns? It has a flea market like ambiance. However the fitting room area is very comfortable and they do sell some contemporary labels; Anna Sui and Velvet. read more

I wanted to dedicate my 100th review to my favorite store, Anthropologie. It's been my favorite store for quite some time now, however until last night I hadn't actually ever bought anything there. Have you seen their prices? I work for the Government, I can't afford to buy that stuff. After my girl's night plans got cancelled my best friend and I decided to salvage the night by doing a little window shopping and headed to Highland Village since we were already in the area. We browsed around the store looking at all the beautiful clothes and wonderful housewares and tried to avoid looking at price tags. Then we hit the sale rack as we always do and though some of the stuff on sale is actually affordable, with Christmas right around the corner I knew I shouldn't be spending money. Then my friend (and now my savior) pointed out to me that there was an extra 40% off all sale prices. What!? That means... I can actually buy something! I took my time and picked out a few items that I couldn't live without and tried them on. The girl working in the fitting room was very sweet and offered to find me a different size if anything didn't fit right. But like magic, everything I tried on fit perfectly and looked amazing. I settled on this gorgeous purple and cream colored cardigan with the most adorable buttons. It was originally $128 and I took it home for a measly $45. A steal! read more

I write this review with the greatest frustration at the staff working here. We registered for our wedding at Anthropologie, and had a gift we had decided to return for store credit. I sent my fiance in with the gift receipt the item came with. Long story short, the cashier refunded the money back to the original payment... of our wedding guest who purchased the item for us. Showing our friend that we had returned their gift. Don't worry, my fiance received an equal lashing out, but it is insanely frustrating, embarrassing, and upsetting that this has happened. After I called to express my frustration and see if they could void the transaction, there was no way they could do so. They offered us still store credit in the amount of the item, but I would have rather been out of the item and the credit than not have the embarrassment of explaining what happened to our friend who purchased the gift for us... One star solely because the manager was trying her best to get this sorted out and was sincerely sorry about the matter. read more

Definitely not cheap and expect to fork over half your rent if not more when you come here. Each garment is at least $80. You'll find blouses for $150+. Do I think it's a overpriced? Absolutely. Do I care? Obviously not. I am a fan of this store. Each time I go, I always plan on searching for that one piece that will last me, and I end up with 4 pieces or more that will last me. Something happened with the staff... it use to be when I went in there, they never paid any attention to their customers. Now, people are everywhere asking if I need to start a fitting room, if I need a size, etc. The staff is fantastic now! Any size that I might need, they will search high and low for it. I LOVE their dresses and find that their quality is fantastic! They constantly carry dresses made by designers like this cute purple vintage looking dress that is currently there by Nanette Lepore. They have items from Ana Sui as well, but there are also other great dresses in their store besides the designer labels. I buy there because I find that the quality is amazing. They are owned by Urban Outfitters, and I detest that because Urban is such an overpriced low quality store. Anthropologie definitely targets a different demographic and has better quality items that are definitely worth checking out. They cater to the more sophisticated woman with a casual cool feel. They have things that scream BEAUTIFUL and some that are a miss, but most things in that store will catch your eye. They also sell hardware for the house, like cabinet door handles, kitchen plates and cup measures all with a quite little twist to them. They do like the animal theme in kitchenware. They also sell rugs and furniture that are wayyyyyyyyyyy overpriced. A little one seater can fetch $2000.' I did find that as this recession is hitting, Anthropologie is having more items on sale. Great for us! Go to the back little corner where they try to hide all the sale items and pick your closet wardrobe out! Cute things that are reasonably priced. The store in Austin is bigger and has a better selection. They even carry shoes there! If you haven't checked out their shoes and purses. Go online to www.anthropologie.com stat! Immaculate shoes that have a vintage vibe. Anyway, their return policy is great. If you don't like it, return it. No questions asked! It's like Nordstroms. One of my coworker's friends work in that place (for the huge discount), and she told me that they'll even take back things that have been worn! I don't know who in their right mind would wear something and take it back, but I say that Anthropologie stands behind their merchandise and want your ultimate satisfaction. I LOVE that. Unconditional guarantee... not many stores can say that it's their policy, but Anthropologie is wonderful. People please don't be a hater and return things you've already worn. Don't ruin it for the rest of us. And be sure to keep your reciepts just in case. They don't need it for return, but they will honor the price the item is at currently. "The Charmer" was my original attraction to this place and now there's "NoWhere To Be" and a couple of more that I can't remember right now. My boyfriend jokes that he would marry any girl in this Anthropology location. The store is filled with darling young ladies and sophisticated women that appreciate the details. You can easily get your Anthropologie fix by indulging in a tiny kitchen trinket. A pair of vintage inspired glasses, adorable measuring cups, or beautifully crafted journals can pick you up from a hard week. I finally bought my first apron at Anthropologie. I remember when I used to never cease dreaming about expanding my wardrobe, but now I find myself very drawn to creating a dream space. Especially a dream kitchen. Anthropologie has been my go to place for clothes for weddings, graduations and interviews as well as cute loungewear and jeans. I had a serious Anthropologie phase a year or so ago. I thought I'd put it behind me, but Anthropologie isn't so niche-y that I won't find something to buy (eeps!) whenever I'm in the store. Anthro is a little like Urban Outfitters big sister, though they're not that similar. The clothes are feminine, flowy, a little boho-chic, and a little vintage. You're not going to find tight mini-skirts here. The people working here are walking advertisements in their cropped cardigans, blouses, wide belts, and knee-to-calf-length skirts. The regular stuff is usually out of my price range, but there's always a good selection of stuff on sale, which ranges from 50-70% off. It's a lot more manageable buying an $79 cardigan as opposed to a $168 one. If you check back in a couple of weeks, if the top you're eyeing is still around, the price might've been cut further. Anthro's a well-rounded store, and I like checking out the assortment of home goods (plates, teacups, throws, rugs, etc.), jewelry (not a lot is ever on sale), books, perfume, and miscellaneous makeup, too. If you go during peak hours, you'll have to wait in line for a fitting room, but if you take a while to browse, someone will come by to whisk away your goodies to keep by the fitting room. read more

I haven't been inside of Anthropologie since it first opened up when I was 18 yrs old. Originally I dismissed it as an over priced store with clothes that fall apart quicker than Target's clothes... lol... I have to say, I must retract my original statement.... I had to fight the urge to buy out the whole store :) The house decor section stole my heart even though the clothes were a little too funky for me personally, but I am working on adding a little bit of color to my wardrobe and Anthropologie is definitely the right spot for that!! Yes, I agree the clothes are absolutely fabulous from the clothing to the beautiful bed spreads AND amazing kitchen accessories. It is beyond cute. Oh and I can't forget to mention the changing designed back splash behind the check out counter is always unique. The designer never lacks creativity. Ok, so here's the bad part: it's so OVER PRICED! Especially during this economically hard time, they do not have good sales. I went to the "sale" room and found a cute top for $60, that is no sale. I wish I could live in Anthropologie clothes every day. When I get down to Highland Village, Anthropologie is one of the stores I must visit. I absolutely love the styles there and want to buy one of everything. But, I can't. The sale area in the back of the store is where I spend the majority of my time there. You can get some really great marked down items if you hit it on the right day. The clothes are very classic and can be dressed up or down. The home furnishings are just as cute and I've picked up a few things here and there. One of my favorites is a hook that I use to hang my little cherry Anthropologie apron on in the kitchen. Do I need an apron or a hook for it? - no. Being in there got me into the spirit and I just had to have the items. You know I am cooking something special if I wear the cherry apron which is typically reserved for candy making for some reason. Stop in and check out the store the next time you're in Highland Village. It is cute and well stocked and you're sure to find something you'll absolutely love. read more

Oh Anthropologie... Y U no cheaper!? In the mood to shop for clothes? They have it. Towels? Got that too! Books, shoes, candles, plates, bowls.... check, check, check! Pretty much anything a female could want (that isn't food) for her self or apartment/house you can find at Anthropologie. Now for the ladies who have never been here, you will not find shirts priced in the 10-30 dollar zone (maybe 30 ONLY if the clearance is on sale); pants can be from $70-400 bucks, and dresses $120-900. I honestly think they have a decent mix of prices. Some seem like a steal and others I just shake my head at. This particular location is a pretty good size and does carry shoes (some locations don't). All the employees are very nice and will do their best to make your visit a great experience. The checkout line can get long but it does move quick! Sign up for an Anthro card because it will store all purchases (so you don't need to keep the receipt), and makes exchanging/returning items a breeze. *Anthro card also gets you birthday coupons mailed to you* Oh! BHLDN is Anthro's bridal line and is in a different location; across the street next to William Sonoma. I have not been inside, but I have seen a few items online and their accessories look awesome. Word of advice- just park in the parking garage. Anthropologie, and all the stores in the Village, are always busy and you will just waste time circling a small parking lot. read more

I.love.Antropologie. Love their style, the vibe, the fabulous sales....and the numerous couches bored partners/spouses/boyfriends can sit or doze on while we shop! I had no idea, but apparently, Anthropologie is the older sister of Urban Outfitters! Huh, they both do create a vibe when you enter, which is really neat. They also have a new wedding line called BHLDN, which I think is opening a store in the HTX. Super busy on weekends, so if you can come in on a weeknight, do it: you can scour the sales racks to your heart's content without being elbowed or boob-grazed or socked in the eye by a rushing/frantic salesperson/fellow sales-mad lady. All kinds of fun things can be had here: beautiful houseware, lovely bed linens, dainty nightwear and bathroom paraphernalia, wonderful books and journals, not to mention the most darling children's things, and of course, the amazing clothes and bags. They also showcase new talent from overseas, most recently emerging brilliant lines from India. I've found countless timeless pieces here, from little pouches to great books to clothes. This is one of my favorite stores and brands. I hope to shop here and get the same quality for years to come. read more

I loved this location! Located right next to BHLDN, I'd like to just move to this block and live in these stores. This anthropologie was great. Lots of space, so things were really spread out which was nice. Some of our LA locations are just too tight. I tried on a dress I had been eyeing for awhile. I came out to show my mom, and got really excited when all of the girls working there told me how great it looked on me! OKAY, I'll buy it! Really though, everyone was super helpful and friendly, the store was clean and organized, and their selection was, as usual, great. read more
