Every time I'm on Melrose, I have to stop at this Urban. It's always nice and clean and stocked with the most adorable little goodies. There's usually parking out front if there aren't people vending outside. The staff is also really nice as well. Returns can be slow. One time there was a lady buying 3 + bags of clothes so super long wait. And then next to her another lady returning a full bag. It's possible they are stylists buying or returning stock. They should have some kind of rule for buying or returning in bulk because the wait times can be ridiculous. I've never been greeted here since most staff are stuck at the registers. read more

Ever wonder where the hipsters go to find all of their scarves? Now ya know! Thankfully, Urban's good for a lot more than than warm weather neck accessories. They're a lot like Anthropologie's too cool for school little bro. And by no coincidence - they're sister companies. This is my go-to spot to find everything from cool gifts (like the mind boggling assortment of Mighty Muggs characters including the whole Star Wars collection), to off the beaten path books, pretty panties, sexy tops and tons of belts. Seriously, where else do hot knickers and nerd knick-knacks mix?! Outside of my bedroom, that is! For some reason or another, this location always seems to have awesome sales independent of the other locations. Recently, just about the entire top floor was on sale with tons of great clothes and accessories marked down to less than half price. Last time I was there, I picked up a sweater and a top for 75% off. Score! Little bonus: Next time you find yourself wearing that scarf and really wanna get your hipster on, you can snag some great music for free on their site. The current download - LSTN3 - includes 21 tracks from some great bands like Fever Ray, Rainbow Arabia, Thieves Like Us and Black Lips. Wandered into the store while waiting for my number to be called up at a restaurant I was waiting for nearby and was amazed by how the design of the store was from outside. Standing two stories high, it looked like it had a lot of more selections than the other UO locations that are slowly decreasing in numbers and even harder to find one that has good selections of clothes. The downstairs area is where the men's section is along with other knick-knack goodies such as electronics, a great collection of vinyl CDs as well as other random accessories that are just good to browse through since you never know what you might want to pick up or need. The upstairs top area through a very nice looking staircase is the women's section and where all the sales items are located. Browse through here and you'll definitely be able to find something for yourself or as gifts to others! There is also a pretty HUGE Starbucks location across the street as well decked out with both indoor seating space as well as a nice covered patio outside area as well to hang out and just enjoy a nice drink before or after shopping! read more

Although I'm not so much of a fan of their lack of air conditioning or any type of ventilation on the 2nd floor, I love Urban Outfitters elsewhere because they all seem to be far more organized than my local one where clothes, whether sale or not, are strewn across the floor and all over the place in a huge mess that immediately gives you a headache and turns you off from shopping. I like that this store is on the corner so they sometimes have display racks outside and really helps to alleviate the browsing that happens inside and gives you an incentive to look as well. Their sale sections upstairs for women are actually quite organized in a way that's just beyond having all the clothes on the racks and not on the floor. They actually try to categorize the clothes by the same set of clothes in one area so that you can look for sizes easier and you can find what you want easier. They try to also do color-coordinating so if you know you're not looking for black you can avoid one section altogether and not have to look through a hundred different shirts just to find the one you want. The associate sounded like she never saw the notification. She never apologized for the wait or the poor service. read more

I love the amount of merchandise this store carries. The store itself is a good side and the way of display is amazing and gives real detail to each item they sell. The only reasons for the 4 stars in the lack of parking and some of the prices are double of places where I see same or similar items. The employees are nice and helpful. The cashier even told me that about some sales they offer that are similar to the items that I bought. read more

I've always shopped at Urban Outfitters, and by far this is the best location I've ever been to all thanks to - Lexie. I really wanted an exchange for this item I love and they didn't have a right size (was the last item from sale so that was more than understandable). Yet Lexie literally helped me for an hour, calling other stores and locations, storages, looking up online, just to help me with finding the size!! Couldn't stay longer for me to stop and talk to a manager but I will definitely come back to tell her manager how awesome Lexie was. Thanks!! P.S. AND she was able to find me the right sizes. I have fond memories of this Urban Outfitters, mainly because I was thirsty and someone gave me a drink outside. Not a random stranger, but like some promotional thing. It was pretty awesome. Other than that, it is pretty much any other Urban Outfitters and any old city with the same stuff. I think I bought some capsule toys here and attached them to my purse. As usual, I wasn't fond of most of the clothes, the novelty items were funny but too expensive to buy, no point in buying furniture in LA when I live in the Bay Area, and the shoes are never anything I like as well. Well, even though I'm seriously puzzled by the clothes at Urban Outfitters these days (the Melrose store seems to be even more scenester/hipster), I did find some great deals last night. I got a pair of earrings marked down to $1.99 and a couple of eyeshadow kits also for $1.99 each. The women's stuff is upstairs (and the mid-level landing floor). Knick knacks and guy's stuff is downstairs. They have positioned a lot of the gifty type things near the cash register for all those impulse buys. I have to note this UO has more shoes than most UOs. I eyed those cobalt blue heels again but reminded myself $300 is not something to be spent on a pair of pretty shoes I'll wear once. This UO reminded me a bit of the Hollywood location in terms of decor and available product but way messier. Granted, it was the end of a night and apparently after a long weekend holiday sale. Melrose may have been the mecca of indie shopping before but with stores like this UO and others, it's more like a regular outdoor mall- just a bit grungier and not much parking. read more

The only time I rate chains is when I think one link of that chain is stronger than the rest. This Urban Outfitters is definitely not the weakest link--this is the hottest Urban in the city. Maybe it's because this Urban is on Melrose that it stays so above the fashion curve. After all, you gotta put out to get out. Or something. They change their displays much more often than your average Urban. The mannequins' outfits tend to look way cuter in this store than the one in Santa Monica and Studio City. This store also tends to have items the other stores don't. But these items are limited time only! I've seen jewelery, tops and t-shirts here that were nowhere else to be found. And the shoes selection is the HOTTEST I have seen at an Urban. Suck on that Valley! Hot skinnies, iconic tees, fake antique necklaces, suede knee length slouchy boots -- Urban's got your little hipster ass covered. Yes, it can be ridiculously messy, parking can be a bitch, and sometimes you can't understand why they still don't have the black cigarette jeans in size 27 after two weeks of on and off checking. But if you want to stay hot and hip, this is the Urban to check out. read more

Granted, in my lifetime i've purchased more items than I can count from here ... and yes, was even (briefly) employed by them, but I've never been into a location, this one included, where I wasn't struck by just how overinflated the prices are, especially when sandwiched amongst more independent boutiques hawking the *exact same products* for a markdown of like ... 50%. Sure, their shit is *KEWT* ... but I just can't justify buying super duper trendy flowy babydoll 90's sundresses for like a hundo bucks when I could just keep strolling down Melrose and hit up the Fairfax/Melrose Flea Market and pick up an AUTHENTIC version of the same dress for $20. sigh. Urban. You tricky, tricky thing. Also, one of my favorite parts of any Urban Outfitters is the home section/home on sale section. I've found better merchandise, gotten better deals, interacted with the staff, enjoyed the vibe. Something's just missing with this one. The level of customer service deserves 0 stars! I placed an order online on 7/1/18 and selected the "pick up at store" option as this was the best option for me. My order was cancelled by the store on 7/2/18. I then called the store and spoke with the manager (Julio) who did his best to help me (he is not who deserves the 0 stars). He confirmed that the store had my item and placed it on hold. He provided excellent customer service and was very apologetic about the cancellation of my first order. We agreed that I would place the order online again and he would confirm it. Once I placed the order online, I received an email about 2 hours later stating that my order was cancelled by the store, again! This was now the 2nd time my order got cancelled by the store. When I called to verify with the store I spoke with David who provided very poor customer service as he took no interest in how my time was invested and said to simply place a 3rd order! I requested to speak with a manager and was transferred to Serena. I was very dissatisfied with her service. She was very apathetic about my problem and how my time was wasted multiple times, though I called ahead to make sure my order didn't get canceled a second time. I explained that I needed the item for a gift and didn't understand why my order kept getting cancelled by the store. She said I could come in to the store and get it but I explained that I used the online service because the "pay after" option was provided. She was very rude and kept stating "well, what do you want me to do" and she even said "what are you trying to get out of this". As a customer I felt very disrespected as I was simply looking for a solution. Towards the end of the call she simply said "well do you still want the item or not". Ultimately, I came in to the store to find out that the item that was placed on hold was not the color I had described over the phone (though I even provided the SKU number). The employee didn't provide me with her name but her number was 157673 she was also very apathetic when I informed her about all my troubles and my frustration that the color was still incorrect, she showed me a color lilac and I had ordered a lavender, the employee simply said "well it's the same thing". However, when I showed her what I was looking for, instead of apologizing she simply said "well, it's easy to make a mistake". Unfortunately, it is very sad to say that most of the employees at this store are very rude and apathetic. They all have a bad attitude and no sense of customer service. I was able to contact customer service on the phone to inform about my experience and I was promised a call or email from the general manager. It is now 7/6/18 and I am still waiting for that call/email. Definitely not looking forward to visit this location ever again! read more

I don't love Urban Outfitters b/c I think it's pricey and most of the clothes are not my style but they do have some fun things so it's always fun to browse. I like their T-shirts and found a perfect sweater a few weeks ago. This location is close to home and it's big so I can spend an hour or so just browsing. I'm not usually a big fan of this place, as I find there tends to be a lot of garbage. But in this case I was on the hunt for a specific shirt. And they were super helpful! They told me how it fits and they even called a few other locations, which didn't have that shirt to see if they did in a larger size. We got there firs thing, so the store was neatly organized, clean and well laid out. Quite a large store actually. In my personal opinion I think the staff should have to dress more appropriately, but hey that is just me. read more

I love coming to this UO because they have a GREAT sales section. The store itself is 2 floors--bottom being the men's section, top being the women's section. I, personally, think they have a better women's section, but I feel like that's the case with a lot of stores. Once you go upstairs, if you go to the far right, they have a whole designated area for the sales. Out of all of the UOs I've been to, I think I can say that this location has the best selection. The parking, however, is a pain here. I, luckily, am always able to find parking on the same street as the store, but it's pretty tight. There's a little parking area that costs a ridiculous $5 every 15 minutes or something right next door. I suggest you pass up that offer and just look for street parking. As long as you don't go during peak hours on the weekends, it shouldn't be too bad. read more

Torn between how to rate the staff. It seems like customer service is not of priority at any Urban Outfitters, but I've had the pleaser of being helped by some nice people here. Some workers are scary, intimidating, and unapproachable though. As for the selection of clothing, I usually go straight for sale which is small here. This is the store i frequent most because I live closest to it. Not my favorite one though. There is street parking not to far away from the stores for about 2 hours, just be wary of the signs!!!!! read more

Beautiful location! Upstairs Kim helped me and my mama out, she is so bomb: So warm and graceful. She greeted us and her tone was so welcoming. I felt like spending all my money here. Hah! Upon checking out, the line was short but I waited a while. It's all good, there were plenty cashiers. You know, everyone has a reason to stay at the checkout. Ain't no thang. Everyone is so dope and the music was fantastic. I'm happy to stay out of the blazing sun. Any reason to enjoy the top flight air conditioning. Some dude was buying or returning sandals taking forever and a day. Sean/Shawn (sp) was helping him. So I straight up lost my patience just looking at this man. Sean was sooooo damn nice to this dude. Ha I mean I was impressed. Soon it was my turn and I had a chance to be graced by Sean's presence. Let me tell you: this guy is great. Part of me hates myself for resorting to U.O. to find cute clothes and accessories...but I succumb to my temptations. However, I'm not a fan of the Melrose location. This store is somewhat disorganized, and I'm not a fan of the tri-level structure. The clearance rack is a joke. I came here today b/c my bro who is in town from college wanted some jacket from here and this was the closest one to the house. however they were having a ridiculously good im assuming after christmas "basement sale" He had to reign me b/c I was getting happy...the staff i encountered were super friendly and helpful. the main sale was literally in the basement, go down some creepy stair to dark, damp and dank area and score!!! cheap clothes galore. I got a fedora ( man I wanted so many more) for $5 it was originally $44 and likewise a t shirt orginially $24 marked down to $5 and a cardigan that was $38 marked down to $10 my bro came up as well with some Levis for $10 and a hoodie for $10... I couldnt be happier...who knew they had such great sales going on on Melrose (i never go up there as i hate the area) but I was pretty happy. As stated I dont shop here and will i return before next christmas I can definitely say no but you can bet the day after christmas next year I will be up there to see if they have anything near as good as this year. read more

I've spent a few minutes lambasting other clothing stores that try to crossover by selling oddball trinkets and crude knicknacks. I don't know why, but I like the stuff Urban Outfitters sells. There is a section for Atomic Age artifacts like martini glasses and beanbags, funky pillows and even some retro t-shirts with Atari logos on them. While that might not churn your butter, I think it's just keen. No, it's kugat. A wide variety of women's clothing upstairs, and a wide variety of..er, women's clothing downstairs. In fact, the only thing that makes it critically similar with these other crossover stores is the men's clothing ranges from thinly lacking to completely non-existent. However, just give me a Transformers iron-on patch on a powder blue Hanes T-shirt and I'm happy any day. read more

I love coming to thia UO. Its very welcoming. I always grab a mocha frap at the starbucks across the street and come in here and browse the saales racks and mens jeans. The accesories are always my favorite. Last time I was here I got me some really amazing jeans. I enjoy the design of the place. The vibrant colors and features of this particular store. Check out there toys and gadgets. Very fun and humorous. The sales clerk ( some guy with a mustache *hottie*) Either way they always have cuties here. I will be back soon. read more

This store is very disorganized. I ordered some items online in the hopes of being able to pick them up within 24 hours. I've previously had negative experiences here because they have cancelled my orders before even though the items were in stock. Now I'm just upset because I called yesterday and they said they would have my order ready by Sunday. Mind you this was in the morning. They checked to see if the items were in stock. I asked if I could pick up sooner since I work down the street (I've been able to do that in other Urbans) and they said no. I had to wait the 24 hours. Come Sunday, no response. I call them no answer. Turns out they closed down because of the corona virus. I found this out because I had to call customer support. However, they couldn't cancel my order either. I have to wait for it to fall off, which is terrible. My order is just stuck in limbo. I feel like it could've been very easily fixed. read more

The clothers are really cool. The prices are a bit high on some items, especially when you can get the same stuff (nearly) at H&M. It just comes down to the brand I guess...the quality isn't better than H&M's Divided though at all.
