Beyond my better judgement, I asked Krysty to watch my dogs. Admittedly, I am particular. I am also a New Yorker and the owner of two very special dogs. Anyone reading my review most likely identifies. I met with Krysty for 30 minutes, walked my dogs with her, gave her explicit written instructions, and I impressed upon her the relationship I established with the dogs' past care taker who recently left for the west coast. He met our needs in every way and loved the dogs. It was evident to me from the beginning I was getting into a much different relationship with Urban Pawz. The walker would not be consistent every day, different people entering the home, interacting with the dogs. Krysty was putting the burden on me to determine what was best for the walker and the dogs, despite my not knowing the walker or having the benefit of observing their dynamic. Very transactional conversation for something so personal, living, breathing, and dependent on humans for essential functions like going to the bathroom. I told her I have a camera installed in the living room and proceeded to watch in horror today as the walker interacted with the dogs, briskly, assertively, and relentlessly. Never once breaking stride to pet the dogs, turning her back on the dogs, shoving her phone in the more sensitive dog's face to get a photo to send to me and then whirling around to leave. Ticking all the boxes as promised in the services section of the website. Both dogs were meant to have a 10-15 minute relief break each. I'm not sure how this was accomplished in an elevator building when the walker arrived at 12:02 and left at 12:20pm. The text report read "Just dropped off your pups. They peed. One of the pups had a poop accident but don't worry I cleaned it all up." All business. Nothing about the first day. Nothing about the dogs' behavior. Extremely impersonal and made me realize how lucky I was to get such fun, informative messages from my walker every day for the past years. I looked forward to them. This just left more questions and stress. Also... they only peed? And there was an accident?? That's not normal. The owner Krysty was completely defensive and told me I was expecting too much. Lastly, in our meeting, Krysty made it her business to recommend CBD (marijuana basically - totally new and not tested) on my more discerning dog. She has never worked with him. She is not a medical professional. AAnd I am fairly certain she has no idea what she is talking about. I was kind when she suggested this but completely offended. I did not ask for her suggestions. I asked her to walk my dogs under my directives, which did not happen because apparently during our meeting my words went in one ear and out the other while she thought about better solutions. As mentioned at the opening, I should have known...I met Krysty a while ago when she came running up to me in the neighborhood with unsolictied harness advice. Possibly well-intended, maybe trying to get my business back then; however extremely mis-guided and unwanted advice. My dogs are finished champions, who toured the east coast with a professional handler, one is a therapy dog visiting hospitals. I don't want advice from random strangers on the street on my dog walks. Bizarre. Needless to say, we lasted all of one walk. I promised to care for the dogs when I brought them home from their breeders. This is not the kind of care they or I am accustomed to, and I made it my day's work to find another solution. My part is my intuition told me NO but my desperation to find a new walker said give it a try. I have a friend in the neighborhood who is very happy with Urban Pawz, so you never know. But never knowing is not for me. I need to be sure. read more

We were so, so fortunate to have Krysty and her team in the same building. We had our pup walked, bathed/groomed and taken well care of regularly by the team. Atticus always came home happy and tired (which as a furparent, you know is a fantastic thing!). The communication is wonderful, logistics are always seamless and I have only heard wonderful things about the team from other clients. I am particularly pleased by the photos and detailed updates that the team sends. Highly recommend Krysty and the Urban Pawz team. Urban Pawz is hands down the best in the business - there is no one we trust more than Krysty & her team to watch over and care for our pup. Urban Pawz has been taking care of Marty, our English Bulldog for close to three years now, which is no easy feat... Having experimented with a few other walkers in the area before Krysty came to the neighborhood, we can appreciate just how incredible their service is. Scheduling is easy. The cost is fair and the service is best in class. Every time a member of the team picks up our pup, we get a text letting us know when he was walked. After his break, we not only get a PG version of what he "did," but an adorable picture of him that always makes our day. On top of that, any time Marty seems to be getting sick or has some time of non-emergency ailment, a quick text or email to Krysty of what's going on and a short while later we'll get an email with every single thing we should do. The entire staff is professional, friendly and most importantly, love the dogs they have the responsibility for taking care of. Krysty and her team walk my dogs regularly. The reason I initially contracted with her was because I had adopted an American Staffordshire (pit bull). He has a huge head, cropped ears, and can lunge at other dogs. Very easy for people to be afraid of him. I knew he had to be handled delicately. Krysty has a reputation in the neighborhood for being over the top conscientious/ OCD when it comes to your dogs and I had run into her before with my poorly trained frenchie and I also knew that she was educated in dog training--- exactly what I needed. I was loving her service for walking my 3 dogs. Then this weekend I was traveling and using her service to watch my stafforshire overnight. I got to the airport and realized I had left my wedding ring and wedding band at my house. I did not have time to take a car back downtown and immediately thought to call her. She wasn't at my house. I hadn't even gotten the words "I left my wedding rings at home" out of my mouth before she was saying "tell me where to put them when I find them" she went to my house and could not find them. She spent hours tearing the house apart. I would have been impressed if this were my best friend. The only difference is that I would not trust my best friend to care for my pit bull. I wound up finding my rings in my luggage. The level of peace of mind Krysty and her team provide for my family--I can't begin to describe. From walks, to overnights, to last minute needs-- I can't say enough about her. Use her company for all of your dog needs. read more

do not use these people!!!!!! Krysty locked my dog in the bathroom so long that the bathroom door was destroyed!!!! my fiance and i went on a 3 day vacation and believed that urban pawz would live up to their expectations but found them to be horrific!!! the apartment was a disaster, and most importantly.......krysty locked my dog in the bathroom for hours- there are bite marks and scratch marks all over the bathroom door. we live in a 1200 sqft apartment, she is allowed everywhere in the apartment and my dog is extremely well trained. i am livid and will do everything to make sure this never happens again. my dog is in shock. When asked about this we got totally false answers until I pressed the subject. Krysty also never kept the lights on and left my dog in the dark for hours. Pet sitting??? They actually just do 3 short walks a day and call it pet sitting even though your dog is alone the entire time or for some reason locked in the bathroom. I always had a weird feeling about them but continued to use them because they are convenient and take PayPal and I only use them for 10 min relief breaks. Also, i thought maybe i was being paranoid until all of my fears were confirmed when we came home and found her toys in the bathroom with scratches all over the door and dog hair everywhere. Very odd considering my dog Never goes into the bathroom. Finally they admitted it but again so much damage is done the door my dog must have been locked in there for a long time, repeatedly. If, for whatever reason, krysty had to lock up my dog, i would think she would have mentioned it. But the entire thing was shady and strange. These people are not to be trusted and i will never ever use them again and no one else should. Even if you think there is a 5% chance they could do this to you, it is not worth it. I feel so guilty leaving my dog in their care. Dont believe all the bogus positive reviews posted within hours of my original comment. read more

I feel that Krysty and her team really cares about my dog's welfare and happiness; they always go the extra mile to make sure that "Mr. Peanut" has a great dog life. Krysty knows so much about dogs; she always gives me tips to keep "Mr. Peanut" in tip top shape such as a diet to reduce his shedding and other helpful tips. Besides dog walking service, they also have grooming services and extended care if you are away for a few days. I never worry about Mr. Peanut when I'm out of town; I know he is in great hands. I probably wouldn't have survived the first year as a puppy parent without Krysty. She taught me everything there was to house training and the well being of my dog from food to toys. My Lola had a severe reaction to her first bortadella shot and I called Krysty right away, she calmed me down and told me the correct amount of Benydral to give her and what signs to watch for before going to the vet. The vet would have charged me an arm and a leg and her advice was free and life saving. She cares about dogs and it's amazing how she has built her business around just that. I feel compelled to update my review after the past month of being jerked around by Krysty and her husband. Not to mention that they cried in our apartment, admitted expressly to locking our dog in the bathroom on two separate occasions, admitted that it was a mistake, said they would reimburse us for the door that was damaged due to our dog trying to desperately dig and chew her way out of the bathroom, and my fiancé and I gave them the opportunity to make this right. We believed them, invited them into our home to discuss maturely, and then the subsequent behavior by them is really disappointing. Krysty has asked her friends to all write 5 star review for her. Do you think it is coincidental that ALL but one of the reviews this year have been written ON THE SAME DAY. And Krysty must have paid her friends to flag my negative review because she is trying to HIDE. I actually gave these people a chance to follow up on their promises to correct this mistake, reimburse us for the door, and now they will not even reply to our texts or emails. Krysty has also had her friends harass me via Facebook message and send me negative and unsolicited messages. All I ask is that they own up to their actions, Stand by their promises, and NEVER TREAT ANIMALS WITH SUCH NEGLECT AND DISREGARD AGAIN. PLEASE, PLEASE, THINK 100 TIMES BEFORE LEAVING YOUR ANIMAL WITH THEM. I HAVE TOLD EVERYONE I SEE ON THE STREET WHAT THEY DID AND THAT THEY LOCKED MY DOG IN A BATHROOM FOR HOURS AND EVERYONE I MEET HAS THE SAME REACTION OF HORROR AND DISGUST. Krysty is absolutely fantastic to work with for pet care. She is professional, reliable and genuinely passionate about providing the best experience possible for your pup. I am always reassured by her quick text messages or photos of our cockapoo Kona cuddling or zonked out after a fun day with Krysty and Reilly. One example of Krysty going above and beyond was noting that our pup might be having a bit of a reaction to her food and discussing with us alternatives and supplements we could try. We thought cockapoos just tended to have itchy ears in general but it turned out her advice really helped. Another example that happened recently was in texting with Krysty while we were traveling she ended up setting up a taste-test experiment to determine our dog's favorite chew treat, then went so far as to email me the direct link to it from Amazon so I could easily order some if I wanted to.
