Taking a minute to leave a yelp review as I noticed there are only very old posts here on yelp…read more I've been using OTBAD for about 7 months now and it's been such a good experience I want others to know so business stays afloat! This will be long- if you don't feel like reading take a look at my pics instead! If you have a dog- you know what it means when they look like they actually have a dog smile on!! My dog always has one when she's out with OTBAD! Now the review- For her first 5 years of life, our dog, Bernie, went to a doggie daycare M-F while we were at work. She loved it and was a much happier and better socialized doggie because of it! But then the pandemic came and working from home, for less income came! So spending money on pricey doggie daycare was out! After a couple years without it though, we noticed that she was declining in terms of social skills and quite frankly was under stimulated with only being at home with us and our usual walk breaks. So, I started trying out less expensive options than full on doggie daycare. I tried a couple other dog walking companies and was underwhelmed. Discovered OTBAD and decided to try one last company! SO VERY GLAD we did! It's simple, straightforward booking, and very reasonably priced. For her walks I chose the 1hr "social" walk option so that she is paired with one other dog. I had no idea how adorable this would be. It's better socializing than at a doggie daycare! Instead of a room filled with a sensory overload of loud barking dogs, it's one-on-one and outdoors. They took time to assess my dog's temperament and personality and paired her with complimentary dogs in the neighborhood. Over the past 7 months there has been about 4-5 different dogs she sees regularly. She gets so excited to stop at their nearby houses to pick them up it's honestly the sweetest thing. She has more friends in TriBeCa now than we do haha Bernie is the type of dog that LOVES people and mostly just tolerates dogs so this change in her has been great to see. She loves these dogs and now even has an interest in random dogs on the street when I'm walking her. But, most importantly- the walkers themselves have been amazing. Her most common walkers are Caspian, Nicole, and Nicholas and they are so good with her. Even her occasional "non-regulars" have been great. They switch it up to keep her stimulated and also get her energy out- sometimes her hour session includes walking, sometimes a park with tennis ball time etc. I really appreciate the little things they do like wiping her paws before coming back inside, taking off their own shoes, etc. It's the little things when you can trust the walkers both inside your home and outside with your dog! I never have any trust issues whatsoever. And, lastly as someone still working from home in a tiny apartment the walkers all "get it". They come in to get Bernie and are happy to talk for a brief min or quickly make themselves scarce and exit quietly if I'm on a call or even in the bathroom for instance. Same thing when they drop her back off- they adjust accordingly if I'm home or not! Overall, it's been such a great experience. I wish I had found them years ago as it's a much more affordable option than full-on doggie daycare and after 7 months of consistent use I'd argue it's actually better in terms of socializing and exercising your dog! The one hour sessions is more than enough to keep her stimulated and well-socialized as she ages! Thank you OTBAD for treating Bernie with such great care as if she was your own dog :)

John has done a wonderful job with helping to socialize her and make her feel comfortable in "pack" walks, and we have noticed big changes in her with other dogs while on leash. We LOVE every vet and tech/front desk employee who works here, and have found the care to be top notch. We have a 3 year old miniature schnoodle, and the entire office has always been so wonderful to him. It's so clear that everyone who works there truly does love animals. They've worked with us to treat his allergies, come up with care plans that are convenient and affordable for us, and give him snuggles and comfort whenever he's there. Most recently, we had Woodhouse in for a teeth cleaning. Dr. LoPresti was fabulous - meeting me beforehand to greet him and explain the procedure, and then calling me afterwards to let me know he did great (and I love that this is not unique to Dr. LoPresti - I've had similar experiences with the other vets there, which is so encouraging). It's also important to me that the staff (medical and non-medical) be people that are kind, compassionate, and reasonable to owners in addition to the animals - and that is definitely the case here; everyone is so easy to work with. We are so lucky we found them, and look forward to working with them for all our vet needs!

I look forward to seeing him. Staff here is really friendly and great and the new space is really beautiful. I couldn't be more satisfied with the care my 14 year old pug has been getting for the last 12 years.

Anyone reading my review most likely identifies. I met with Krysty for 30 minutes, walked my dogs with her, gave her explicit written instructions, and I impressed upon her the relationship I established with the dogs' past care taker who recently left for the west coast. He met our needs in every way and loved the dogs. It was evident to me from the beginning I was getting into a much different relationship with Urban Pawz. The walker would not be consistent every day, different people entering the home, interacting with the dogs. Krysty was putting the burden on me to determine what was best for the walker and the dogs, despite my not knowing the walker or having the benefit of observing their dynamic. Very transactional conversation for something so personal, living, breathing, and dependent on humans for essential functions like going to the bathroom. I told her I have a camera installed in the living room and proceeded to watch in horror today as the walker interacted with the dogs, briskly, assertively, and relentlessly. Never once breaking stride to pet the dogs, turning her back on the dogs, shoving her phone in the more sensitive dog's face to get a photo to send to me and then whirling around to leave. Ticking all the boxes as promised in the services section of the website. Both dogs were meant to have a 10-15 minute relief break each. I'm not sure how this was accomplished in an elevator building when the walker arrived at 12:02 and left at 12:20pm. The text report read "Just dropped off your pups. They peed. One of the pups had a poop accident but don't worry I cleaned it all up." All business. Nothing about the first day. Nothing about the dogs' behavior. Extremely impersonal and made me realize how lucky I was to get such fun, informative messages from my walker every day for the past years. I looked forward to them. This just left more questions and stress. Also... they only peed? And there was an accident?? That's not normal. The owner Krysty was completely defensive and told me I was expecting too much. Lastly, in our meeting, Krysty made it her business to recommend CBD (marijuana basically - totally new and not tested) on my more discerning dog. She has never worked with him. She is not a medical professional. AAnd I am fairly certain she has no idea what she is talking about. I was kind when she suggested this but completely offended. I did not ask for her suggestions. I asked her to walk my dogs under my directives, which did not happen because apparently during our meeting my words went in one ear and out the other while she thought about better solutions. As mentioned at the opening, I should have known...I met Krysty a while ago when she came running up to me in the neighborhood with unsolictied harness advice. Possibly well-intended, maybe trying to get my business back then; however extremely mis-guided and unwanted advice. My dogs are finished champions, who toured the east coast with a professional handler, one is a therapy dog visiting hospitals. I don't want advice from random strangers on the street on my dog walks. Bizarre. Needless to say, we lasted all of one walk. I promised to care for the dogs when I brought them home from their breeders. This is not the kind of care they or I am accustomed to, and I made it my day's work to find another solution. My part is my intuition told me NO but my desperation to find a new walker said give it a try. I have a friend in the neighborhood who is very happy with Urban Pawz, so you never know. But never knowing is not for me. I need to be sure.
