Stopped by Urbanite looking for nothing but inspiration, and found it! This store is really many stores. Each vendor displays whatever they're making, selling, or interested in. That could be pottery, clothing, art, furniture, tchotchkes, plants, or something else. Some get really creative with their booths, adding hanging decor or a fun layout. I had some sticker shock over pricing, but I'm sure there are deals to be found also. If I were looking for a special item I would certainly return here to search. And it's a great place to wander looking for nothing in particular! read more

This is a huge warehouse type of building that has several venders that are independently owned. It is like a big antique market that has many independently owned little areas. This place has both new and used items. We buy stuff every time we go. There is vinatage furniture, new art, used art, cool little chakis, chairs, purses, jewelry, antiques, clothing and great vintage finds. So much more as well! Some things are unaffordable for us and some are more reasonably priced. We found beautiful wood shelves that are stunning and bought them. They were exactly what we were looking for. We got a cool industrial console table abd other fool finds. I have bought a few nicknacks that I like and new art when they had a sale. Street parking is easy to find plus they have a parking lot. There are bathrooms. I would say the one thing I dislike is everything is a final sale. I mean absolutely everything. So I have not bought certain things in case they could not work where we want to put them or we were might want to use. Also for gifts since they are not returnable and want to give my gift receiver's that option. Some staff are more helpful than others. So it depends on who is working. This a good place to go if you are cool with final sales. Theycdo have grsat stuff. read more

Urbanite is a great place to find unique items! Love the curated mix of vintage & new. Last time we stopped in they had dedicated more space to large scale art pieces, which was fun to see. Urbanite is a must-stop when I'm in Portland. The sheer variety of things can't be beat. At any given time you will find furniture, home decor, housewares, art, lighting, textiles, plants, musical instruments, new and vintage clothes, bags and accessories, and pieces from local artists and makers. The space is huge and airy so even during busy times it never feels crowded. There are a lot of different sellers so prices can vary. Each space is thoughtfully arranged, and while the spaces flow well into each other there are also surprises around every corner. It's such a fun and eclectic place to shop. I also appreciate how invested and supportive Urbanite is in Portland's maker and small business community. Urbanite has it all. I do my best to shop here once per month, since they do a great job at rotating items in and out with a few core sections that rarely change. Since moving to Portland in 2018, it has been a joy to see the growth and changes that Urbanite has underwent. The updated outdoor paint truly makes an impression, but, I am thankful that the indoors remain mostly the same. As soon as you enter, the team at the cash will greet you. I'd recommend taking some of the hand sanitizer, especially if you plan on touching items. There are small pods throughout the space owned by small businesses, so everyone is bound to find a stall that works for them. I personally stay away from the new item pods located along Grand Avenue's side at the north end of the store, and I am obsessed with the Danish furniture area near the front/middle rows. You can expect seasonal changes here, and, if you are lucky you might even arrive here on a day where free hot apple cider is available. Restrooms are clean and tidy, too. Parking is out back, so don't worry about having to pay! If you are clumsy (like me) try your best to not touch too many items because if you break it, you buy it! I am thankful to have styled so many pieces in my home from Urbanite. See you next month! read more

After driving by Urbanite every day for 2 years on my way to the gym, I made the decision to stop in after the gym on a Saturday when I had time to browse. I'm so glad I did! Instantly I was in love. The large, bright, clean warehouse space is so well curated and styled, you need to pause, pace, and slowly take it in. As you make your way down the wide and roomy aisles, at every slight turn is a different vignette so artistically designed its Instagram or a magazine layout worthy. Once you've completed the loop, do it again, this time counterclockwise and you will discover so many things you missed the first time. Trust me on this! Urbanite is a brick & mortar marketplace with dozens of individual vintage shops, artists, collectors, woodworkers, card makers - a mix of vintage and new items - all under one large roof. This means styles vary, as do prices, so there is something for most every taste and budget. - Antique furniture, chandeliers, china, depression glass and crystal - Mid century bar ware, couches, pendent lights, glasses, art - Vintage clothing, dresses, sweaters, jeans, handbags - Inlaid woodwork - tables, art, benches - Plants, planters, vessels, garden decor - Colorful tapestries, cushions, pillows, blankets - Guitars, jewelry, paintings, books, antique bakeware, vases, dishes Staff is super friendly and they seem to be as excited to work here as the customers are excited to experience this gorgeous, unique store. On today's visit I saw some mid century barware (a la Madmen) and a hanging pendant lantern that I'm considering. Now that Urbanite is on my radar, I'll be visiting one or two times a month as I'm sure the inventory moves and gets replenished. Next year's Christmas shopping and birthday presents during the year just got easier! I saw so many things my friends would love to receive! Interesting collection of used and artistic unknowns. Antiquie.... Decent array of indoor plants, which is why I may come back. Furniture and item are just way over priced, but for Oregon standards I guess that's normal Plants are overpriced but hey they are to me because I lived in Los Angeles, where indoor plants could be outside! There were some Interesting pieces and when I looked at the price, they were like $600 for something not so exciting. read more

Love Urbanite! This was my second visit and I had lots of fun looking for what I collect. I found the staff helpful in my search. The store is clean, well-lit, well organized and doesn't smell musty. It's near the A/B streetcar loop which makes it easy to get there since our hotel is usually across the river. I look forward to my next visit already. In reference to my last review: Yes, markups are everywhere. I understand economics, as well as the implications of having a global, capitalist marketplace -one of them being that there are many options made available to the consumer. While a $8 markup may not seem much, maybe for another college student that's too much. I apologize if it sounds like I'm trying to dissuade people from shopping locally and persuade them to buy big brands instead; that's not my intention. Mine was a coincidental circumstance, and I encourage others to shop local as I did. Some people don't have the means to do this, and this is where I come in as a Yelper. Maybe it would help to clarify that the four stars was for having to wait over half an hour for the pricing of said items, in addition to the feeling of losing out. It was not brought to my knowledge that this item was unused. I am happy with the pieces and would've completely changed my tone had the owner spoken to me in a way that was more informative and less condescending. I stand by my review and I will keep it up to show others how the owner responds to Yelpers who don't have all positive things to say. read more

I love me a vintage mall, and this place is tops. Lots of booths of varying styles but always thoughtfully and artfully arranged. A nice mix of old and new, and plenty of room to shop and be safe during the Time of COVID. Over the years I've found many things at Urbanite, and it's refreshing how there's always something new to look at. There's a great plant shop, tons of mid-century modern, and all sorts of home accessories. Staff is friendly and check-out is easy. They strive to be cashless and you can even pay with Venmo! Came here randomly on a second Sunday where I guess there's a flea market? But unlike my normal experience with such affairs, it was really calm with various offerings throughout BUT people weren't like trying to sell you anything. You could just walk, peruse, and it was so chill. I loved the vibe and the different types of items they had. The only thing that I thought was kind of funny was that near the clothing, there weren't a lot of mirrors, so I kept having to wander the place looking for some sort of reflective space. Also there were so many windows/spaces in the store that I kept expecting to be a mirror but turned out not to be. Okay maybe this more of a me problem. Lol read more

It's off putting for me, feels like they're constantly watching me. However I've gotten some solid pieces there though. Less like an antique mall, more like a showroom. Definitely no bargains. As someone who frequents vintage/ antique shops, this place is a must! Excellent service and a wide variety when it comes to vendors.

What I wouldn't do for a place like this in New Orleans. My sister is a local interior designer and I was a bit worried that our trek to stores like this one would be a yawn fest for me, but Urbanite is a feast for the eyes. I nearly immediately saw a the perfect kitchen island (see pictures), and I love that the tag said "Perfect Kitchen Island". I think their prices are on par or lower than similarly sized furnishings with less character at other furniture stores. What I really admired about this incredibly massive space is that the mini vendor areas were so lovingly curated so that one could easily imagine the butcher block, revolving bookcase, or even the elephant bar fitting somewhere in your own home. I also greatly appreciate most things have their prices visibly listed. If I had visited this place earlier last year, I would've 100% spent some of my wedding budget to send down the vintage peacock thrones (is that what they're really called?). The staff was present but not pushy, and bid us adieu. I have a dream to return with a U-Haul and plenty of money to buy all the things. read more
