It is now 14 weeks later and we still do not have our furniture. Multiple phone calls to the owners have been made and we still do not know when we will receive our table and chairs. We were led to believe that our furniture was being made by the owners and they finally admitted during my last phone call to them that our order has been out sourced. Where and to whom I do not know. I made a down payment that I truly regret making. I will never purchase anything from the Emporium again and caution everyone to avoid custom orders at this store because the owners over promise, raise expectations, and do not meet their deliverable deadline. Further, they have misrepresented themselves as on site furniture makers. We fell for a great sales pitch and are now dealing with poor excuses. We have a sinking feeling that we may never receive our table and chairs. If the owners treat everyone this way, they do not deserve business.

Every one of the projects we worked on with him (6-7) resulted in unsatisfied clients on his portion of work from lack of planning or project management (Which I've had to do myself multiple times yet with no compensation) and us never being paid our last 10% as a "final closing" on any of the projects because his clients weren't satisfied and he refused to pay us what we were owed for completing the work even though the client isn't our employer, he is. Alongside his lack of creativity (since he always opts for the same colour samples and ideas which i know since he's told me and I've seen), he only seems to look for a quick dollar out of the same design he's done times before. It's a testament that this isn't their first rodeo, as the saying goes. Our old couch, that has gotten a lot of use from 2 kids, and plenty of adult naps was in need of some TLC. Tempting as it is it just put it by the curb, and get something new, the prices of new furniture of similar quality is outrageous, and certainly isn't built as well as what we have now. Fleshers is close to home, the price quoted for the service was very reasonable, and - because this ain't their first rodeo - the turnaround time is insanely fast. That's the difference between them and another company that may be bigger and "better" because of name recognition as a result of marketing and advertising. Word of mouth advertising is where it's at, and has always been a better indication of quality than anything else. Plus, supporting a family owned local business is priceless.
