I personally never experienced anyone being unprofessional, but every time I've had questions or concerns, the team has been incredibly patient with me. There were a couple of times I was overwhelmed about costs, and they took the time to explain everything clearly. I already knew the work would be expensive, and at the end of the day that was my responsibility to figure out, but I appreciated how understanding and professional they were through the whole process. I was at this office yesterday for root scaling, and unfortunately it was a very negative experience. The procedure felt rushed from the beginning. One side never became properly numb. The doctor came in to give an additional injection, but that also didn't work. Meanwhile, the tech kept saying "just 5 more seconds" while continuing the procedure even though I was clearly in pain. At one point I heard the doctor leaving the office and saying goodbye for the day while the tech was still working on me. I ended up enduring most of the procedure in significant pain just trying to get through it. What made the situation worse was what happened afterward with billing. I was charged a $49 credit card fee without anyone verbally informing me beforehand. I only discovered it later when I received the emailed receipt at home. I never received an itemized invoice explaining the charges. When I called the next morning for clarification, the office manager told me the fee disclosure was "on the screen" and that because I was "not under anesthesia" I should have seen it before paying. After an hour-long painful dental procedure, with a numb mouth and a headache from sitting with my mouth open, I was focused on getting through checkout -- not carefully reviewing a payment terminal screen for hidden surcharges. I explained that a nearly $50 fee is significant, especially after already paying for an expensive treatment plan that requires multiple future visits. Instead of acknowledging my concerns, the manager repeatedly told me I "should have seen the warning," interrupted me several times, minimized my experience, and ultimately hung up on me. I actually liked the dentist initially and was planning to return for crowns, but after this experience -- both with the treatment itself and the way my concerns were handled afterward -- I no longer feel comfortable continuing care here. Be careful here!!!! The reviews warning about "deep cleanings" are what made me finally leave one myself. Multiple people mention being told they need expensive periodontal/SRP treatment, only for insurance issues and surprise balances to come up later. This office feels VERY sales-heavy and the overall experience became uncomfortable. I was presented with a very large treatment plan with numerous add-ons and later received inconsistent billing amounts related to insurance processing. I highly recommend getting a second opinion before agreeing to any "deep cleaning" or periodontal treatment here and making sure you fully understand exactly what your insurance will and will not cover beforehand. read more

They have a parking garage on Travis st (validated). I LOVE this dental office. The X-ray tech did a couple of X-ray images, 3D imaging, and a different type of imaging. My dental hygienist (Krysta (spell check)) really made my visit. She was so informative and explained gum and periodontal health extensively. Even with the pokey-gum device, she was super gentle, which is not the norm. I wouldn't be surprised if she previously worked with children because she was so gentle and patient. I also appreciated Dr. Lee and his preventative measures for tooth calcification. These topics have never been covered with me at other dental offices so I appreciate the education. read more

I literally scheduled this dentist appointment at about 11pm on Sunday night as an emergency visit because I had serious pain. They got me in the next day at 8am! I like how friendly most of the staff is. They get you in and out in a hurry after you fill out the forms. There is a woman at the front desk who takes about 3 minutes to buzz me in every time I come but buzzes other people in quickly, that's weird but who knows, right. All of the other staff smile and give you warm greeting when you walk past the front desk which is very welcoming. I go here to get all my dental work done and so far, so good. read more

Everyone was so nice up until the treatment coordinator came in to ruin everything. I needed a lot done so I knew the price would be up there but first of all they gave me the wrong quote to begin with that was twice the actual price, then once I said I wanted to try to get a quote from another dentist before getting anything done she said I couldn't keep jumping around to different dentists and started talking down to me explaining how insurance works like I was stupid. I'm an adult and I'm allowed to choose what businesses get my money so even if another dentist is more expensive at this point theres no way I'd spend my money here. read more

They add procedures that they know insurance will not cover, and then leave you to discuss things with a hygienist who can't discuss billing. First time visiting, they attempted to exhaust all of my annual dental insurance benefits for x-rays and a deep teeth cleaning. Once they advised me of their ridiculous prices and I declined, the consulting aid pretty much shooed me out of the chair without even removing my bib. "Ok you can go". I only came to that office, because it was within close proximity to my condo. I was still charged $500 without any work done, just X-rays and consultation. After that horrendous visit, I went to my previous dentist in Pearland, received great service and paid only a 3rd of what URBN was charging. read more

I made an appointment for 8 AM, only to have them change it to two hours later. When I arrived, the person doing my X-rays had no idea how to work the X-ray machine. She ran the 360 scan on me several times before telling me it was in test mode and that I was not radiated. She ran it one more time to get the X-rays. From there, in the exam room, I was X-rayed some more. The 360 scans were not even shown to me or used by the doctor. The doctor spent all of 10 minutes and was very brief. Then the "hygienist" came and told me about various cleaning techniques. Finally, someone came with a sheet of inflated prices for cleaning and other dental work. They also would not do the covered cleaning my insurance covers. This place is a money grab. Avoid it. read more

This office oozes joy. I used to hate going to the dentist (doesnt everybody?) but now I could practically come to this office just to hang out, everyone working there is so lovely! The office is truly staffed by beautiful people both inside and out. Not only that but the the space itself has a modern, open-air concept that makes you feel welcomed and peaceful. They boast local art that is constantly changing to support the Houston arts scene as well (LOVE that!) Ria, who greets you at the door with a big smile, is a rockstar. My dental insurance had just switched over and the insurance company was being a huge pain in the behind and she remained calm, cool, and collected in spite of the very rude Aetna insurance lady. I had a somewhat urgent request and the office was so accommodating. Dr Golik is very kind and talks you through everything, making sure to keep you feeling comfortable, aware, and informed at all times. This is the perfect example of a modern business that did it right. Come make your smile even prettier, because you won't be able to wipe it off your face when you get here! P.S. BEWARE, BEWARE, BE WARNED! They are very, very dishonest. They made me believe (not once, not twice, but over three times) that I would see the dentist that I requested, only to tell me that he doesn't work as a dentist anymore, AFTER, they completed X-rays, Exams, etc. I repeatedly inquired about this particular dentist. I would like to perform my dental procedures, and they assured me via phone that he would... Yet they tried to pin another dentist on me. This is the MIDTOWN location. Beware of ROXI and VALERIE. They MISLEAD me over and over again. Their UPTOWN location is scammers as well. They will tell you that you need work done on your teeth that you don't need, even if you can verify this by 2nd and third opinions. They will still try to convince you. I feel these people are hungry for money and will milk your insurance and pocketbook if you allow them to do so. I have never had such a negative experience from a dental office before. The office is nice and the atmosphere seems warm, but don't be fooled. Although I wasted my precious time coming here, I felt relieved that I had this negative experience so I could avoid having my entire family come here for dental care. I was really looking forward to my dental visit at URBN Dental but unfortunately did not have a great experience. I scheduled an appointment with this office 1-2 weeks in advance. It was not a last minute appointment. I scheduled an annual exam which at every other dental office I have ever been to includes X-rays and a cleaning at the very least. I arrived for my appointment and was taken to the back pretty quickly to an exam room for X-rays. The girl who did my X-rays was super friendly, personable, and made me feel very comfortable. Not having insurance for a few years due to being in school I knew I had some issues but she never once made any judgement and was very welcoming. After she took the X-rays the dentist came in. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained things to me but seemed a bit rushed. He talked very fast and talked to me like I worked in the dental field. Didn't really break things down to my level but he did show me a picture which helped and did ask if I had any questions. However, I wasn't going to ask him to repeat anything or re-explain anything he had just said after him talking so fast. However, what I did understand was I needed a deep cleaning and some fillings. After he left the room the X-ray tech came in and took off my dental bib and told me I could head up to the front.. I questioned her since I hadn't gotten any cleaning. She told me she wasn't sure I would have to ask the lady at the front. When I got the front the lady grabbed a paper and told me to come back to the exam room.. I was thinking okay I'm getting my cleaning.. nope she tells me to sit down and says that she is going to go over my treatment plan with me aka talk about money. After she was done I asked about the cleaning and she told me that they were running behind and so she would have to reschedule me. When I asked further questions she tells me that I can stay and wait but it would be about an hour.... she then tells me my other option is to come back at 2 because she had someone cancel (which was 3 hours later). Super inconvenient. I left pretty upset. They should have told me at the front desk the moment I checked in that I wasn't going to be able to get a cleaning without rescheduling and they actually should have done even more and called me before I came in to offer me the opportunity of rescheduling to avoid making a routine dental visit an all day event. I'm giving 2 stars for the cleanliness of the office and the friendliness of the girl who did my X-rays. The dentist was okay but nothing special to make me want to come back to his office. After hearing all the recommended treatment needed for my teeth he kind of left me feeling like my teeth were so bad they were doomed. Some reassurance of letting me know he could help me would have been nice. I would never come back to this office nor would I recommend it to any of my family, friends, or enemies. I honestly feel a little scammed.. they billed my insurance for X-rays and an exam but weren't able to do anything else to help me. Thankfully I was able to call and get an appointment at another dental clinic nearby on same day and who says that they will also be able to treat me same day. EDIT: Edited to add that I went to another dental office and they redid my x-rays. According to them they stated that half of the work the dentist at URBN was saying I needed wasn't necessary. They also said I didn't have gum disease like this dentist was trying to say. They also told me that 2 fillings that URBN was trying to say I needed were not cavities and did not need to be filled. Seems like they're a bit disorganized. And fyi they DO NOT see pregnant patients, even for a cleaning. The first time I scheduled my appointment, they called me back and had to reschedule, since they had accidentally scheduled my cleaning for a day when they had no dental hygienist available. Seems like a basic part of scheduling a cleaning, but no big deal. We rescheduled. I get out of work early, arrive on time, fill out the paperwork, and then I'm brought to the x-ray room. I say that I'm pregnant so would opt out of the x-ray. Plus no dentist has seen me yet and I have no symptoms, so it's unlikely that an x-ray would be necessary, anyway. The receptionist stops short and tells me that if I'm pregnant, they won't see me at all today. She said that they do not see pregnant patients, even for a cleaning. She reiterates that she's canceling my appointment and says I can get a note from my OB saying dental appointments are okay. This doesn't make any sense for a routine cleaning and isn't consistent with medical recommendations. Dental checkups are absolutely encouraged in pregnant women. I literally just filled out their paperwork stating that I am pregnant. So why did they ask if they weren't going to use the information? If it's their policy, that's fine. But they need to either ask when booking appointments or use their pre-appointment paperwork to appropriately triage instead of wasting my afternoon. Their policy seems pretty obstructionist to pregnant women trying to get care. The least they could do is mention it *anywhere* in advance. Facility seems nice, I'm sure it's a pleasant enough place to go. Probably won't bother going back though. read more

I was a patient at URBN Dental for ~1.5 years and had 5 visits under their care. I switched DR's when my insurance changed and had a visit with a new dentist ~6-months after my last cleaning visit at URBN. At the new dentist, I learned that almost all my sealants had worn away and I had 6 cavities that had likely developed over the course of 1+ years. I was in shock as no one at UBRN had ever mentioned I had a cavity. I called URBN after my appointment to ask why this was never brought to my attention and was immediately met with excuses. I asked to speak to the DR or Practice Manager and the woman at the front desk demanded that I send over my new x-rays and photos before doing so. After spending about ~45 minutes pulling all this together, this woman emails me that cavities can develop quickly and denies all responsibility (so why did she ask me to pull all this info together?!). After demanding to speak to the DR I finally get him on the phone and he just launches into excuses (saying i'm confused) before even asking what my concerns are. Now I'm no medical expert, but I just find it extremely hard to believe that all 6 cavities developed within the last 6-months when I've had no change in routine or product usage (oh and btw the new DR speculates they've been in there awhile). Ultimately URBN was unwilling to admit any wrongdoing or refund any of my treatments. read more

I've had several appointments here at URBN Dental, each of them were a pleasure! Their offices are in a great central location, with convenient and safe covered parking. They don't validate parking yet (I don't know if there are plans to) but they credit your account for each visit. Dr. Golik is very kind, accommodating and very approachable. Their hygienists are just as welcoming, always making sure I was comfortable or needed anything. The office is very modern, concrete floors and high open ceilings. They have big screen TVs with Netflix. You can hear the patients in the room next to you, but there's so much ambient noise from the machines, your on TV, that it's not distracting and I didn't feel like I was eavesdropping. Their hygienists use modern technology, a digital camera takes a photo of your teeth and they show you your teeth (xray and photos) almost immediately after on the same big screen that was just showing me vacation homes in Britain! It was almost jarring to see my own teeth on the screen, but it was a nice way to view them vs. on a smaller Xray screen on a table. I had several appointments in a short span and it's a short drive from my office. They lay out the options and pricing in a very straightforward manner, I never felt like I was being deceived or given the run around. Dr. Golik took time to meet with me about my treatments even though I didn't have an appointment. They return missed phone calls almost immediately and are very kind and welcoming. I never saw another patient in the waiting area, might just be my timing though. There's cool art all around the office space, interesting books to thumb through while waiting (I never waited long, 5 minutes tops) and free water and coffee. tldr: I trust Dr. Golik and his staff with my dental care! Modern, comfortable and spacious offices and kind staff make me look forward to my follow up appointments. read more

I have to say I have been extremely impressed with the staff's dedication, quality, and professionalism here at URBN Dental. I came in for a deep clean, filling, and wisdom tooth extraction assessment. Dentists have always made me very nervous but I felt very comfortable here. I like Dr. Golik's conservative approach, he doesn't try to oversell and seems very genuine. I never got the impression that he was trying to make money off me. Another dentist told me I needed a root canal because of a sensitive tooth, but Dr. Golik went through the x-rays with me, showing me that wasn't needed at all and offered more conservative interventions first. Nipa, the dental hygienist, was extraordinary. She was extremely thorough and kind. She spent a lot of time on my teeth and education. You can tell she really cares about doing her job well. DrGolik and Nipa both individually went through the x-rays with me, explaining everything as well as interventions and why they needed to be done. I couldn't make an appointment last minute due to an emergency and they rescheduled no problem. I was having post-filling extreme sensitivity and the team has been keeping in touch and working with me through the process. I can't complain about one thing! read more
