I had a cracked iPhone screen and called Roberto based on the reviews and proximity to where I live. I set up an appointment for the next day as he needed to order a screen for my iPhone model. When I arrived he inquired about my phone. Was it working? Were there any issues besides the cracked screen? Based on my answers..works fine, no issues, mostly just aesthetic--he said your glass screen protector is broken. Not your phone. I had brought my own screen protector which he installed in under five minutes and was OTD for $10 rather than $100 for a cracked screen. Roberto is a rarity in this world. I went into this business on a weekend during John Muir's Earth day celebration. We were his only customers as what he told my sister and I. Unfortunately he rushed through the process of putting my iPhone 15 pro screen on ($120) and within two days the screen started defecting. I've had a case on my phone the whole time and the screen would glitch and shut off & on. I went to Apple and they ran a diagnostic code on it. There's nothing wrong with my iPhone 15 pro. The guy simply put on my screen wrong. I called today (May 13) and asked him if he could put it on correctly and he stated his business doesn't do warranty. It's a bit concerning as a business owner who does phone repairs to not give warranties for phones. Phones nowadays cost $1000+. He kept interrupting me the whole time through the phone call. After waisting my time at the Apple Store in Walnut Creek. All they had to say was that the iPad was responding when they plugged it into their computer. But there was nothing they can do and offered me a new iPad for $249, not including taxes. Then I went to Best Buy. The employee I spoke to told me that they would offer the same thing apple was offering or they can send it to her it fixed but it would cost about $100 and with $150 more I can just buy a new one. He did say that I can find a mom and pop shop to see if I can get it fixed. I took his advice and made a phone call to a very nice gentleman named Robert! I told him what the problem was and he told me it was the LCD. He continued with his price and possible outcomes. I brought the iPad in and here I am back at the shop. Robert fixed it! I am extremely thankful for his skill, kindness and service! I will continue to come back when something goes wrong with my i- electronics. SUMMARY: Roberto the owner is one helluva funny and cordial guy and will do whatever it takes to get your phone back in order. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! BACKGROUND I thought I knew a bit about iPhones, but apparently not. On our last trip to Taiwan, our Verizon rep told us that in order to use our phones that we'd need to buy their Outrageously Overpriced International Plan to use our phones. Strangely enough the SIM card kiosk lady in Taiwan said our phones wouldn't work. So I did some research and tested our old iPhone 6 phones with US SIM cards and sure enough they work. So off we went to get some issues fixed so these old iphones could be used as our overseas phones. PHONE 1- charging port not working Roberto asked me to bring this phone in particular to inspect it. He did the following without charge: opened it up, swapped out the charging port and tested. No dice. Then he replaced the battery. Again, no dice. Finally he replaced the screen. No go. He determined it was something way more serious, so I decided to put this phone out to pasture. All of this at no charge to me. PHONE 2- Worn battery This is was my daily phone that I used for close to 4 years. As far as phones go, it was one of my favorite phones. Screen size is right sized and just powerful enough. The iPhone 6 for those of you who don't know is Apples workhorse phone. So much so that this particular model is still actively refurbed and sold. Anyways the phones battery was replaced with an aftermarket battery that Roberto said was his go to battery for it's longevity and reliability (less than 3 pct defect rate). RETURN Absolutely. I'm actually going to reconsider purchasing Apple Care Plus because Roberto's repair rates are very reasonable. And he's very upfront about pricing on the phones when you call.
