Our PS5 without warning stopped turning on (it would beep one time, but that was it). This was concerning as a PS5 is a $500 item, but something my teenage son would consider essential. He did the research and we were encouraged by the positive reviews read on Yelp! for CaliPhonia Phone & Computer Repair. Our dilemma was either to buy a new PS5 or take it in to CaliPhonia Phone & Computer Repair to see if they could see what was wrong with it and then fix it. They charge a non-refundable $100 to open the console up and diagnose the problem. They will call you back within a week to let you know what they find out. If you proceed with having them repair the PS5, they will apply the $100 to the repair fee. Total charge to fix the PS5 was about $250. So, the PS5 was successfully repaired by the shop and it plays good as new again. There's a 90 day warranty on the repair service, which is reassuring. Moe said that the vast majority of the problems associated with these PS5's are due to three isssues. One of the biggest worries when you need any electronic item repaired is if you're getting a fair price. I don't expect to pay bottom dollar but I just want to pay a fair price for quality work! I called before coming in and the telephone customer service was excellent! Brought my phone in to get repaired at 11:30am on Valentines Day. Face to face customer service was just as good as on the phone and I was given the costs depending on what issue needed to be resolved. I'm sure everyone with a dead phone or computer suspects the battery needs to be replaced, I did too. He plugged my phone into a battery tester and showed me it was fine so now I'm not going to feel like I was ripped off. I'm thinking the wait will probably be 4-6 hours but he finished in ONE HOUR!!! AMAZING!!! I won't share the cost of my repair but with the customer service and quality of work in such a short amount of time I happily paid and will come back with any other repairs needed. I appreciate Mo and everyone else that was able to restore my Galaxy Note 10+. I was in Hawaii and went swimming with my phone and at first didn't think nothing of it because I've been in waters down from the mountains of Cali and had no issues whatsoever. Swam with it in Lake Tahoe, submerge it in a glass of water and the sink. NO ISSUES, until Salt water in Hawaii (salt water in general). Phone completely done for. High quality workmanship. Fast/efficient and friendly service. Very reasonable prices. I normally shy away from phone repair stores as I do most of my own repairs however the iPhone X needs a chip programmer to do a screen swap which I do not own. Not cloning the screen ID to the new screen will result in Tru Tone being disabled on the phone. I brought the phone and the screen I had bought into the store, it was swapped in about 20 minutes. I confirmed Tru Tone was still present and enabled. On a side note they have some interesting tools here, not the usual kind of stuff ...well also the usual kind of stuff but also a few more specialist tools as well. Their website even mentions they offer more services including microsoldering which, for anyone not familiar, is as low level as it gets. We are talking about desoldering and soldering individual components on a pcb. I did not make use of this service but good to know its available if needed. This all ultimately strikes me as a very professional operation. This is not the usual "guy with a screwdriver" sloppy repairs with cheap parts, these are pros. I have a Pixel 3 phone, which, like most phones, began having battery life issues. This was followed by the charging port intermittently not working, and then completely failing. I was able to keep my phone going via wireless charging, but with a battery life that at best lasted half a day, and being unable to plug my phone in anywhere, I was unfortunately having to look at getting a new phone. However, I didn't want to spend nearly $500 on a Pixel 5a, or nearly $1,000 on a new Pixel 6. My phone worked great, it just needed a new battery and port. I really did not want to spend money on a new device. Caliphonia was able to replace the battery and charging port for a reasonably price. They ordered the parts on Friday, were ready to go on Monday, and had it fixed in about an hour.
