I am extremely disappointed with my experience trying to schedule an appointment with this office after being diagnosed with RCC (renal cell carcinoma) cancer. My primary care physician sent a referral to this office three separate times. Every time I called to follow up, I was told that the referral had not been received. After more than two weeks of getting nowhere, I sought help from another physician, who submitted an additional referral. When I called again, I was finally told that both referrals had been received. However, despite each referral clearly stating that I needed to be seen urgently, I was informed that the earliest available appointment was more than a month from the date of the original referral because the office did not have my imaging studies. Wanting to avoid any further delays, I personally delivered the imaging CD to the office. Only then was I told that they could not view images from a CD and instead needed the radiology report. Fortunately, I had a copy and emailed it immediately. After that, I was told the report still had to be processed and reviewed by the physicians before an appointment could even be scheduled. As a patient dealing with a cancer diagnosis, this process was incredibly frustrating and stressful. The repeated delays, conflicting information, and lack of urgency were alarming. It is difficult to understand why a patient with an urgent cancer referral would face so many obstacles just to obtain an appointment. I hope the office reviews its referral, scheduling, and communication processes so that future patients especially those facing serious diagnoses receive the timely care and attention they deserve. read more

First, a little background on my complaint. And this complaint is not about the doctor but rather the CRNP for Urology Specialists of Huntsville. I was a patient of doctor Daniel Osula of Urology Specialists of Huntsville and I had an incident this past Thursday, April 9th where I was nauseated with dizzyness. My family doctor, referred me to Marshall Medical Center North outpatient services because of my complaint of nausea/vomiting. After extensive blood work and CT scans, no infections were detected. My family doctor thinks it could be a case of Prostatitis that had made me ill and required me to seek ER attention on Thursday April 9th. my Dr then referred me, late in the day, to the Crestwood Medical Center emergency room where I might be seen by a urologist on-call and possibly a GI specialist. No one was available on Thursday night so the follow up instructions provided by the ER was to contact my urologist for an immediate appointment. I tried calling Urology Specialists of Huntsville on Monday and I was like number 86 in the queue I think. I left my name and call-back number, 256-527-9656. I never received a call back so I proceeded to send them an email with the information on my issue and request an appointment. The response I received from Valerie Gonsalez Urology Specialists P.C. was as follows: The nurse would like to get you scheduled with the Nurse Practitioner. Appointment has been scheduled on 04/15/26 at 3:50pm with Carmen Herring, CRNP. If this appointment doesn't work, please reply back and I can get it changed. Thank you. I don't want an appointment with the CRNP, I was referred to a Dr. This same CRNP failed to catch my illness during visits earlier in 2026, the last being in early March. We were scheduled to leave for a Caribbean cruise on Friday April 10th with the ship sailing on April 11th. Due to my illness, we had to cancel all of our travel arrangements, costing me the money paid for the cruise since we were past the cancellation date and we are out costs of copays and deductibles on insurance. So the failure to catch this illness in the early stages has been quite costly to me. Yet as early as this afternoon, 4/14/26, Urology Specialists P.C. is still trying to schedule me to see a person that I don't want to see for tomorrow 4/15/26 at 3:50. I had made this known 4/13/26 and asked for a response which I didn't receive until after 6:00p on 4/13/26. I again responded I didn't want this appointment and that I was no longer a patient and that I would be filing this complaint/review. I blame all of my medical issues on the failure of the CRNP to properly diagnose an issue, and allow me to see a qualified MD, causing a lot of recent pain, physical discomfort and loss of vacation money paid in advance as well as copays and deductibles. The communications issue is a disastrous mess and it seems like the CRNP is a filter that blocks access to the doctors, even when I ask to see a Dr or I am referred by 2 different medical resources (my family doctor and the Crestwood ER doctor). I would recommend that if you have any serious issues that go beyond "peeing in a cup" that you GO ELSEWHERE. That is the extent the CRNP goes to and then dismisses any other symptoms when the "pee in a cup" test is clear. Obviously 6-8 weeks after the "all clear", here I am with a more serious issue and about 12 days physical illness, missed plans, extra expenses because someone wouldn't or couldn't act beyond their limited capacity. read more

If you think you have a UTI go to a Doc in a Box. By the time you get an appointment to have it checked then wait several days for the results, the UTI could cause extensive damage. There portal is useless. They may check it once a week if that often. read more

I rate them PISS POOR! MEDICARE PATIENT ROBBERS! They charged me almost TRIPLE what Medicare Allows, kept the ill-gotten gains ($82+) for 90+ days to collect interest on MY MONEY, told me a check was on somebody's desk for a signature and they would call me. 6 days later I called again and they neglected to call me back same day or next day per policy / they put me phone mail jail for a week. WHO does this to Disabled Medicare patients? I'm guessing that this is standard practice year after year , with every Medicare patient in the practice. This is unethical, negligent, incompetent, inconsiderate, and what I consider to be financial malpractice, or perhaps an intentional well oiled GRIFT. All this for the privilege of a 10-minute appointment that I had to wait 1.5 HOURS for, with no apologies. FYI: I cured my own slow growing prostate cancer, without their help. Not one of them can claim they cured cancer. They only know how to cut, burn, or poison you hoping to kill the cancer first. If you want to discuss my feelings, you should probably put on hearing protection, because this won't be easy to hear. I plan on picketing them tomorrow to get their attention, as well as lodging a BBB Complaint. read more

Dr. Whitaker is outstanding. The office is always backed up, both in person and on the phone. That can be frustrating at times, but the excellent care provided by the doctors there is worth it. read more

I really like Dr. Whitaker, but the office staff/medical asst are useless! They couldnt get me in for 2 months, and when I ran out of meds, I left 2 voicemails and was never called back! I spent the holidays with a uti because of them! read more

Although I did not have to wait long to be called back after arriving, and was in and out of the office within 30 minutes, I was appalled by the cleanliness - or lack thereof - of the bathrooms where I was asked to give a urine specimen. The floor looked like it hadn't been mopped in months, it smelled, sink was not the cleanest, hand soap dispenser was almost unreachable for me (am short), and there was trash all over the floor. Did not give me warm fuzzies. My appointment was early in the day. There was no reason it should have been that filthy. Am I wrong to expect a doctor's office public facilities to be clean and sanitary? My appointment was on 8/27 (took 2 months after my PC referred me to get this appointment) and was given samples of Gemtesa, a relatively new medication (less than 5 years release by FDA). I have Chronic Kidney Disease and I specifically asked if this medication was safe for me to take. Dr. Osula said it was. Still, I went home and did some research (which I do with any new meds any doctor puts me on) and it said anyone with serious kidney issues should not take Gemtesa. I messaged Dr. Osula the next day on the patient portal (8/28) to tell him I was not comfortable taking that medication because of this warning, and asked if there was an alternative that had been around longer and was tried and true - and actually safe for people with CKD. Initial visit was fine. Staff was very helpful. Went for testing and drove 1 1/2 hours to the appointment and called because we were going to be 10 minutes late because of weather and traffic delays. They told us if we made it by 9:00am we could be seen. Walked in at 9:01 and would not see us. We would have to reschedule! Absolutely no way will I ever go back. I called and cancelled all future appointments. I manage a clinic and understand if you are extremely late but not that close. Hope the 45 minute testing slot helped with the daily appointments because they forget that the client is who keeps the paychecks coming. read more

Administratively, it is a disaster! Never can get an appointment without going through a lot of effort. Typically, you call and the message is we are busy with other patients-wait 24 to 48 hours for a response. This can go on for days. Same for a computer appointment. I notified my doctor last year of the problem. By the way, in order to check out of this place there was a line!!! Looking for another place as we speak! read more

Dr. Jiminez was my urologist for a little over two years and truly one of the worst doctors I have ever experienced. I would highly recommend seeking another doctor to protect yourself and your loved ones from him. He is aggressive, arrogant, and abusive. The following ways are why I would not recommend Dr. Jiminez: 1. I always waited at least an hour and a half past my appointment time before seeing Dr. Jiminez. When he finally came in the room I only ever had a max of 5 minutes with him before he hurried out of the door. 2. Dr. Jiminez never stopped talking long enough for me to ask a question. I had to fight my way to talk and he would still continually interrupt me when I tried to ask questions. I was always left feeling very confused and frustrated about what was going on with my body because I was never able to receive clear information. 3. In 2020 Dr. Jiminez attempted to remove a kidney stent from my body, but during the procedure the stent would not come out because it had curved. The procedure was incredibly painful and I asked Dr. Jiminez multiple times to stop the procedure and he did not listen and would not stop. He finally stopped in his own timing when he realized it was not coming out. This was a very traumatic experience for me and Dr. Jiminez did not listen to me or support me through it. 4. Recently in 2022 I had to have another kidney stent removed and I was very nervous about it after the previous traumatic experience. I tried to ask Dr. Jiminez simple questions before the procedure so he could reassure me - but he was in such a rush to do the procedure he would not take the time to answer my questions and became so frustrated with me trying to ask questions that he ripped off his gloves and stormed out of the door. I have never been treated so poorly and disrespected in my life. He re-entered the room later and instead of apologizing to me he got right in my face and belittled me and treated me like a 2 year old. I again have never been so disrespected in my life and I kindly declined for him to do the procedure because I had lost whatever trust and respect for him I had left. The above reasons are why I decided to look for a new doctor and I am so glad I did! Dr. Jiminez is aggressive, arrogant, and abusive in his nature. He may be a good urologist, but he will not give you the care and respect you need and deserve as a patient. Please protect yourself and your loved ones from him! read more

So far, this practice seems to be well run, at least for my Doctor's office Dr. Wood is very good at what he does, instills lots of confidence. Never waited very long and the staff is very proficient. I especially like the Patient Portal they provide. I have no complaints with Dr. Jiminez. This review deals with only the administrative department for Urology specialists. I checked in, was seen by a PA or whatever she's called, checked out and left. At no time did anyone inform me that my referral was expired. So I receive a bill and think that my insurance is going to pay it. Than I receive another bill and I called Urology specialists. Now they tell me that my referral had expired before the appt. After several calls to my PCM, insurance company, and the office manager for Urology specialists I ended up having to pay the entire bill. I told the office manger that they need to start informing their clients of all administrative matters that could impact them financially. I also told her that I'll never be back either. This is one of the worst ran offices that I've ever been too in my life. I would steer clear of this business. read more

Absolute worst experience with Dr. Jiminez! Unfriendly staff and long wait times on phone. Jiminez barely spent a few minutes with us after we waited almost an hour to see him. He did all the talking, rushed the conversation and then voice recording notes. Jiminez interrupted us when we tried to talk or ask a question. Both visits provided zero help. I'm sorry to say I must agree with the other reviewers and warn prospective patients of this practice to look elsewhere when selecting a urologist. I was in the waiting room for 90 minutes before being taken to an examining room by a nurse who was only marginally civil. After another 20 minutes of waiting I had had it. I walked out of their office without being seen by Dr. Jiminez. This was after I had cancelled an appointment in connection with my work as a private music instructor. This kind of disrespect for me and my time is unacceptable. I understand that physicians are busy, but if they can't see a patient within an hour or so of their appointment time they need to change their scheduling practices. I suppose they'll charge me for an office visit and that I will have to pay it, or they will report it to the credit bureau; but I do intend to write a letter to Dr. Jiminez and let him know how I feel. read more

I had to wait 90 minutes before I was seen by Jiminez and than I only spent 5 minutes with him. This practice is a joke. I'll definitely be looking for another urologist instead of coming back to this kind of treatment. The admin section is as equally as bad too. read more

I would highly suggest you do not waste your time with the practice. My appointment was early Monday morning. I printed and filled out my paperwork ahead of time and brought it with me arriving 30 minutes earlier than my appointment time. There was more paperwork to fill out. I was called back shortly after my appointment time and placed in an exam room. After waiting over 1 hour after my appointment time without seeing either a nurse or a doctor, I decided this practice was NOT for me.
