Urraco Coffee Company was a great stop on a very recent trip to Shelton. We have heard about it maybe about a year ago but never made it there until just recently. I could be wrong but it looks like it's the only independently owned coffee shop in town or at least in the downtown area. And it indeed shows! The line to place orders was quite long inside the place and they were also managing orders for drive thru customers. But they had the line moving steadily and got customers on their way at a pretty good pace. I'm guessing it's like this here often and they are well practiced! But there was also a church nearby and a farmers market which brought in a lot of people. I really enjoyed the Toasted Pecan Latte from their Autumn coffee menu. It was very good! Nice and smooth and the nuttiness was so pleasant as we enter into Autumn! Of course it wouldn't be a full coffee shop experience without trying out the pastries. They all look to have been made locally as in the Shelton area. I got an almond Danish which was so good and went with the coffee drink quite well! Such a nice coffee shop to hang out at. They have indoor and outdoor seating but even with that it could be a challenge to find a place to sit if it's always this popular. read more

It is a cute little place in a great location. Was recommended to go there with friends that we met. We are from out of town so we were open to any suggestions and this just turned out to be a good one. The coffees that they made were all made very well and the staff was super friendly and helpful. They have lots of good pastries, just kind of wish they would've had like a breakfast sandwich or something on the menu. What they do have, they do well though. So no complaints at all. read more

Urraco Coffee is a small independent coffee shop in Shelton, Washington. They have a nice outdoor seating area and a small indoor area. I enjoyed admiring the coffee roasting equipment in the front. I have never roasted coffee before, but it has always fascinated me how a coffee shop might impart their individual flavor to coffee beans grown in central America. They had enough equipment there to do a large quantity of beans and, based on the coffee shavings on the ground, it looked like it was in regular use. We enjoyed our coffee outside and as we started talking about the local Oyster Fest a couple weeks away, someone walked up and started handing out the Oyster Fest promotional pamphlets to the coffee drinkers. Delighted to "discover" this coffee company in Shelton. Cheerful staff and fantastic cinnamon bun. We ordered 12 oz lattes one iced & one hot. I've been a barista so I usually watch the process - Shots being pulled & milk attentively being steamed. The iced latte was fine though very strong. Next time I would order a 14oz. The hot latte however was literally scalding hot burnt milk. My husband took his first sip ( thank God it was only a sip) and burnt his mouth. We were in our car driving away so we didn't address it. He had to wait about 15 minutes to start sipping it. Went back a couple days later thinking it would be a one off and same thing . Blisteringly hot. Watching the barista I noticed she poured a bunch of milk and blasted the steamer leaving it while she did other thing. The milk was poured - no beautiful foam - the Hallmark of a good latte just scalding hot froth and burnt tasting milk. I am writing this review hoping no one gets hurt and the Barista's slow down. They should be steaming milk for one drink at a time. Holding the metal steaming cup and actually paying attention to this most important part. Milk Temp at 130-140 degrees. That's how you make velvet foam and serve a beautiful latte. This place could be great with proper training and care. Owner should invest in training for their staff. I hope it happens before someone sues them! read more

Best coffee place in Shelton. Coffee is well made, and the staff are delightful every morning no matter the circumstances. Urraco is a daily stop for me. Staff have my order ready a lot of the time as I am driving to the window. They ask about my day and check in with me like family. Urraco is a wonderful establishment that quietly serves the town with grace and great coffee. I get a cold brew, but I have had other espresso drinks that are also very tasty. We go to Urraco often because their coffee is delicious and their service is exceptional. They open early and stay open late enough to grab some coffee after work. They roast their own coffee and I was lucky enough one day to walk in while the roaster was in operation and the kind worker took time to explain the process to me. They sell a variety of their own roasted coffees and will grind the beans for you if you want. This is the go-to place in Shelton if you want a hot or cold coffee or want to take fresh roasted coffee beans home to brew later. Nice indoor and outdoor seating areas with free WiFi. read more

Wonderful small local roaster with fantastic selection and service. I've been here numerous times and the merchandise is always immaculate, everything is clean and stocked, the servers are extremely friendly and the drinks are always on point. They have a friendly and efficient staff. Even when busy they get your drink quickly and it always taste great. I have never had any issues with an order. I would highly recommend them to anyone that is looking for a good coffee shop. They have both indoor and outdoor seating as well as a drive through. The only drawback would be if they are busy the drive through extends out onto the city street. read more

This coffee shop gets the 5 star review for The town of Shelton. I make it a point to swing by here whenever I am in town visiting family. This past week was no exception. Albeit I was in a rush that day and did not purchase a cup of coffee, I wanted to buy a couple pounds to take home with me as I always like their in-house roasted beans. The young woman waiting on me was very patient and could explain the different coffee bean offerings. She also provided me a couple small samples of coffee to try. That, along with her knowledge, helped a lot in my decision making. I bought a couple pounds and was off and running. If I had acquired her name I would give her props on this review. I consider this my hometown coffee shop. Solid cup of coffee every time. Their strength is in their great customer service and their consistency of coffee. While I have had coffee I like a bit better, those places don't roast their own beans, in the shop. There exceptionally low employee turnover contributes to this being a great atmosphere. It is not uncommon to have to wait for a seat during busy times because the atmosphere and coffee is that great. Not a lot more you could ask for in a coffee shop... Drive up or go in, rain or shine (fireplace on in the fall and winter and the patio in full swing during the spring and summer) and enjoy a good cup of coffee made just the way you ask for it. They have a limited menu of food items. I have tried many of them. They have a baked item, made by another local business, that has meat and cheese in it. They are good hot or cold. While they aren't my thing, they are well loved by many. Unless you are REALLY fussy about your coffee... I mean like you ONLY drink a specific brand... Built out of what appears to be an old house, this coffee shop not only has character but great coffee and spectacular service! I was staying around the corner at the Shelton Inn and was in search of a WiFi connection. I found Urraco on Yelp and came over for a cup of Joe and internet connectivity. I had a large cup of Americano (yes, I'm a wimp).....and drink my coffee black. It was very flavorful and had a nice, robust kick to it....even though it wasn't as strong as the regular stuff. The joint has an outdoor seating area, drive thru, and comfortable seating inside. Also, FREE WiFi and next door is a Printing Shop, which I actually needed. What a great place! I went to the new location in steamboat after being open for 2 days and it was beautiful! Very big and open with beautiful decor and a great vibe! I got the lavender latte and it was fantastic! They also serve Olympic mountain ice cream which I'm dying to come back and try! The barista (teagan) was fun and nice! I was passing through Shelton and happened to drive past Urraco, which appeared to be the most active retail establishment in town that Saturday morning. A line of cars was queued onto the street and I had to park a block away. So while I hadn't been looking for coffee, I had to find out what all the excitement was about. Coffee itself is good. The servers, and hence the service, runs the gamut from excellent to poor. On some days it's good some not and it totally depends on server. Coffee is good. Business seems brisk and the owner spends a good deal of time jaw jacking on his own political views which appear to be right in line with his level of education. Dare I say not really into higher ed. based on his political position, which he has no problem discussing, so I might as well too. Most of the girls provide exceptional service and are courteous there is a few that definitely are rude and seems to not want to be there. Okay, I'm going to make this one really simple. Urraco has THE best coffee in Shelton, period, end of story. This place is legit and as Jules would say, this is some serious gourmet sh*t!! Urraco servers organic fair trade coffee. We went to the drive thru today, it's on the right side if you're facing the building, and ordered a white mocha and a cafe mocha. Both of the drinks are the best in town and I've been to every espresso stand and coffee shop here. First, all of their mochas start out with 4 shots, not 2, and not 3 like most places in town. You can actually taste the coffee, smell the coffee, and enjoy the coffee here. Even at the drive thru the prominent smell of fresh quality coffee engulfs your senses. You know what I'm talking about. That thought you have of, "Self, you nailed it, awesome coffee coming up. Score"! They use Ghirardelli chocolate for their white and milk chocolate drinks, and Torani flavored syrups. I asked for 2 extra shots in my mocha and I could absolutely tell there were extra shots in it. The other places in town, not so much. The prices are reasonable and competitive. I'd actually pay more for coffee from Urraco as the flavor and quality is on point. I'll have to go back and purchase some of their whole bean coffee. Our barista was cheerful, quick, and she made our visit an exceptional one. My dog was being an idiot and she gave us a doggy treat which calmed him down right away. I didn't try the pastries. There is seating inside, outside, and a drive thru.
