Breakfast quesadilla with bacon, ham, sausage, hashbrowns, eggs and cheese.

This is a sweet spot in an old building in downtown Shelton. If you want a fancy building this is not the place. If you want kind service and a positive environment then this IS your spot. We came in early on a Sunday and Tim greeted us and took our order. He also cooked our delicious breakfast. My omelette was cooked perfectly and my husband's breakfast quesadilla was giant. It's a two meal breakfast for sure. There was nice chatter about the restaurant and you can see that these people are in to helping others. If you're in Shelton we highly recommend this more than a coffee restaurant.

If you want an excellent American Cafe breakfast straight out of the 70's, come here. Huge pancakes. Generous portions of everything else. And lots of bacon treats for your hound. Shhhh, they even let me bring in my medium small Aussie. The staff was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure you have everything you want/need. This is a hole in the wall affair, so just park on the same block and search for it. The only reason this place didn't get a full 5 stars is that it looks like it hasn't been cleaned for a while. But this place is definitely worth the side trip. You'll get an amazing breakfast.

Plenty of tables in the back!

Great local joint with great people and food. When you walk up to it the space seems super tiny, but there is a larger space with tables in the back, one is big enough for a party of 8. They support local dogs and take donations to help house and feed them.

Absolute hidden gem of a restaurant with an nondescript appearance but amazing service and food for an unbeatable price. The small restaurant isn't very glamorous and looks like it largely hasn't been updated since it's glory days of the 60's, complete with vintage milkshake and ice cream machines as well as a vintage diner bar with original stools, but it has the old school charm of a family run business that has been doing the same thing for decades. The food is basic, although their menu does have some vegetarian and keto options available, but it is all executed extremely well and you can tell it has heart. The prices are unbelievable too in todays current market, with a standard breakfast plate or burrito running you $10, a cup of coffee $2, and my personal favorite here, the breakfast sandwich "Daybreak", is only $5! It's literally cheaper than the Safeway Deli for a sandwich twice as big. The service is great as well, George is an amazing person who has so quickly become one of our favorite people to go see in town. Absolutely don't be turned away by the appearance of this place, it's an amazing restaurant for a great breakfast that won't break the bank and is better quality than the other breakfast places in town.

I can't keep this to myself anymore...if your looking for huge portions that are worth your money but that is also delicious? Go to Nita's!! I have yet to try anything other than the most perfect breakfast burrito you will find! I keep coming back for more! They are the sweetest people and they know how to serve up the best customer service!

The biscuit is certainly on par and what one would hope for. My other half got the Chicken Fried Steak, which was great. This also allowed me to try the gravy that they use for the biscuits and gravy, I would certainly consider getting this next time. It is one of my favorite breakfast foods. For the side on the Chicken Fried Steak, he got a pancake, which another way we judge the quality of this kind of establishment. It was good, one of the better ones I have had recently. Not over-whipped and fluffy. Coffee is standard diner fare and they kept it coming as one would expect. I would certainly be interested in trying them for lunch and dinner some time!

During our meal we watched Caspian terns dive bomb on searun cutthroat trout in the waters in front of us. We saw seals feeding on those fish, too. The menu is varied and impressive. We had the bacon-and-shrimp tacos and the smoked trout and baguette. Everything was perfectly cooked with a clean, appetizing presentation. When (not if) we go back, we'll definitely get at least one order of the bacon-shrimp tacos to share (it comes as two generous tacos) and then add something new. Not sure how this place is sitting at 4.7 stars because, in my opinion, this is a 5-star…read moreestablishment in every sense of the word. And I'm a tough critic. As a flight attendant and an unapologetic foodie, I've eaten my way through cities all over the world. You learn pretty quickly when a restaurant is simply serving food versus when it's serving something made with genuine care. This place falls firmly into the second category. The customer service? Just the sweet Rainier cherry on top of an already incredible experience (and yes... go look at their bakery case while you're there). Jocelyn was phenomenal. I asked how this little slice of heaven came to be, and she happily shared the story behind it. One owner spent years as an executive chef at a casino, while the other built a career as a professional baker in Aberdeen. Boy, does that expertise show. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. A little context: I mostly eat pescatarian these days, so when I do splurge on chicken, my expectations are sky high. I've built it up in my head as one of the foods I miss most (right alongside a good ribeye), and it's almost always disappointing. Not this time. This chicken is absolutely ridiculous. They debone a chicken thigh and fry it into the crispiest, juiciest piece of fried chicken I've had in a long time. It's made with a gluten-free batter, which means more people get to enjoy it. And before anyone assumes "gluten-free" means sacrificing flavor... think again. Plenty of great chefs will tell you the best fried coatings come from starches like potato or cornstarch anyway. What really made this meal special, though, was that my partner is vegan. If you've ever dined out with someone who's vegan while you aren't, you know how rare it is for both people to walk away feeling like they had an equally great meal. It almost never happens. Here, it did. She ordered the vegan Indian tacos with corn tortillas, and they looked incredible. She was excited to try the fry bread, and instead of simply serving it, the staff thoughtfully explained it wasn't vegan and helped her choose an alternative. That's the kind of attention to detail you don't forget. Our service was perfectly paced. If you're looking for food in five minutes, there are plenty of places where "cooking" means microwaving something that arrived frozen. This isn't one of those places. Everything tastes intentional, and that takes time. Our food still arrived in under 20 minutes, maybe even less. Slow down, talk to the people you're with, and enjoy the experience. Great food isn't supposed to feel rushed. We stumbled across this gem on our drive home from Ocean Shores, and I'm so glad we did. I only wish it were closer to home because we'd become regulars in a heartbeat. I can't recommend this place enough.

So Bad It Was Almost Comical…read more My wife and I stopped here for lunch on our drive from Oregon to Seattle. The parking lot was completely full, so after circling around and eventually finding street parking, we figured the place must be popular. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the high point of the experience. The main restaurant was fairly full, so we were seated in a large, dark bar area in the back. And then... nothing happened. For more than 30 minutes. Eventually, a waiter appeared and took our order. Then another 30+ minutes passed before the food arrived. Somehow, even our iced tea didn't make it to the table until the food did. All told, we spent roughly an hour sitting at an empty table without so much as a beverage, and about 90 minutes from the time we arrived until we actually had food in front of us. At that point, the whole experience was becoming almost comical. We ordered a cod burger with fries, a Caesar salad, onion rings and an iced tea. The cod burger was okay. Nothing memorable, but edible. The Caesar salad was actually good. The fries, however, arrived cold, soggy and thoroughly greasy -- quite an accomplishment considering how long we waited for them. The onion rings apparently embarked on a separate journey altogether, because they never arrived. By then, we'd lost the will to ask about them and just gave up. The grand total for one cod burger with cold fries, a small Caesar salad and an iced tea? $40.00! We mentioned the long wait, forgotten food and other problems to our waiter. He was sympathetic and explained that they were short staffed, which we understand can make things difficult. But being short staffed doesn't make a 90-minute lunch, no drinks for an hour, cold soggy fries and forgotten food any less disappointing -- especially at those prices. By the end, we weren't even angry. The whole thing had crossed over into comedy. Needless to say, on future drives between Oregon and Seattle, we'll be finding a different midway lunch stop.
