First, this is a Diner, which serves diner level food. I am giving five stars because I think it's…read morea solid four at least and I want to help bring up the rating. In doing our research for a breakfast place, we were slightly hesitant because of the rating. I am very glad we decided to try it. The service was friendly and the food was fast. Overall the establishment is clean and felt cared for. I ordered the Blondies Mess with a biscuit. This was certainly what I was hoping for. Crunchy, meaty, fried diner goodness. The biscuit is certainly on par and what one would hope for. My other half got the Chicken Fried Steak, which was great. This also allowed me to try the gravy that they use for the biscuits and gravy, I would certainly consider getting this next time. It is one of my favorite breakfast foods. For the side on the Chicken Fried Steak, he got a pancake, which another way we judge the quality of this kind of establishment. It was good, one of the better ones I have had recently. Not over-whipped and fluffy. Coffee is standard diner fare and they kept it coming as one would expect. I would certainly be interested in trying them for lunch and dinner some time!

Delicious, well balanced meal on the Hood Canal…read more Their chowder was AMAZING. Well balanced, colorful, depth of flavor, umami and textures hitting your mouth. I highly recommend it. My wife had the burger which was decent, and I had the rockfish bowl which came with smoked rockfish (delicious) complemented by kale, sweet potatoes, fluffy eggs, chives, and more. Healthy and good. What I love about the menu items here is that they offer very nutrient dense foods. I love their use of colors and vegetables in their dishes. Ambiance is a casual setting. You go to the counter and order food, pick up a bucket with a number on it, and they bring it to you. You find a seat outside by the water or in the restaurant. And you just enjoy the beautiful scenes. Service is spectacular. Very nice and they come and check on you regularly. Parking is relatively easy (there's a parking lot). We arrived around 11am on a Sunday and it was starting to fill up. Bathroom is cleaning meaning the kitchen is clean! This is on my list of places I'd come back to for sure.

For the springtime visit, it was amazing sitting outside in the sunshine. You order food at the checkout counter, and they bring your order out to you. With the sunshine the views and delicious food it could not have been more perfect. The outdoor area is also dog friendly and you can walk around the marina or take a look at the neighboring gift shop. The food may seem a little pricey at first, but the quality is there. It is fresh. It is flavorful, and it is delicious. Parking can be a little bit of a pain, especially during the busy times.

Not sure how this place is sitting at 4.7 stars because, in my opinion, this is a 5-star…read moreestablishment in every sense of the word. And I'm a tough critic. As a flight attendant and an unapologetic foodie, I've eaten my way through cities all over the world. You learn pretty quickly when a restaurant is simply serving food versus when it's serving something made with genuine care. This place falls firmly into the second category. The customer service? Just the sweet Rainier cherry on top of an already incredible experience (and yes... go look at their bakery case while you're there). Jocelyn was phenomenal. I asked how this little slice of heaven came to be, and she happily shared the story behind it. One owner spent years as an executive chef at a casino, while the other built a career as a professional baker in Aberdeen. Boy, does that expertise show. I ordered the fried chicken and waffles. A little context: I mostly eat pescatarian these days, so when I do splurge on chicken, my expectations are sky high. I've built it up in my head as one of the foods I miss most (right alongside a good ribeye), and it's almost always disappointing. Not this time. This chicken is absolutely ridiculous. They debone a chicken thigh and fry it into the crispiest, juiciest piece of fried chicken I've had in a long time. It's made with a gluten-free batter, which means more people get to enjoy it. And before anyone assumes "gluten-free" means sacrificing flavor... think again. Plenty of great chefs will tell you the best fried coatings come from starches like potato or cornstarch anyway. What really made this meal special, though, was that my partner is vegan. If you've ever dined out with someone who's vegan while you aren't, you know how rare it is for both people to walk away feeling like they had an equally great meal. It almost never happens. Here, it did. She ordered the vegan Indian tacos with corn tortillas, and they looked incredible. She was excited to try the fry bread, and instead of simply serving it, the staff thoughtfully explained it wasn't vegan and helped her choose an alternative. That's the kind of attention to detail you don't forget. Our service was perfectly paced. If you're looking for food in five minutes, there are plenty of places where "cooking" means microwaving something that arrived frozen. This isn't one of those places. Everything tastes intentional, and that takes time. Our food still arrived in under 20 minutes, maybe even less. Slow down, talk to the people you're with, and enjoy the experience. Great food isn't supposed to feel rushed. We stumbled across this gem on our drive home from Ocean Shores, and I'm so glad we did. I only wish it were closer to home because we'd become regulars in a heartbeat. I can't recommend this place enough.

The food is amazing, the service is great, people are nice and hit the vending machine before you leave. There are a number of great dishes but the French toast is a clear winner. Four stars - good…read more We went here for lunch while staying out at Harstine Island. Because of the location, this is a popular spot for locals. It is an older establishment and has standard decor. They have a lot of seating to accommodate large parties. They have quite a variety of options on the menu. I decided to get the Reuben, and it was great. The fries were especially good, too. We will go here again!

The servers and waitresses sometimes come across like customer service isn't a priority, and it can be hard to get anyone's attention, without the two ladies serving acting like you're ruining their whole day asking for a refill. Not to s&#+ on the place, it actually use to be good for brunch and dinner, but Prices have definitely spiked, and unfortunately the quality of the food doesn't always match what you're paying for, or what you came expecting. Portions and consistency can vary, and overall I just don't come anymore unless it's to meet a family member as I live close. The outside view and backyard is the lake, and my family grew up on the lake, it's fun to fish and boat by there when the weather's nice! I added some nice pics, mabye my review will change in the future as I never rate a restaurant poorly, always truthful and take everything into consideration, and try to help others by explaining my experience as a local, and a use-to-be 2-3 times a week even if it was to sit at the bar snd pull some pull tabs. But yeah it's not what it was! There are some positives, but between the service issues, rising prices, and inconsistent food quality, it leaves a lot to be desired.
