This place was a hidden gem! It forces you to slow down life and enjoy food and comfort! The food was home cooked and absolutely delicious! I wouldn't stop if you were in a hurry but if you have time to enjoy an authentic German meal, this is the #1 spot! I ordered the schnitzel with green bean salad and fries. AMAZING! There is also a tiny store in the back of the restaurant. Service was kind and friendly and I believe more restaurants need to be like this! read more

Drove out of my way to try this place. Sign on the door said they were open 9-5. I arrived at 4. Doors were locked. There were employees inside talking and eating. No one bothered to even come to the door. read more

When you don't want to go to Ocean Buffet or just want something not greasy, Ursula's is the place to go for authentic mouthwatering German cuisine for a reasonable price! Pros: Their Gypsy Schnitzel is to die for. The pork is very high quality, and the tangy gravy is sublime! The spetzel texture is on point, while the red cabbage was phenomenal! Not overly saturated with a vinegar taste, yet sweet enough to hold its own! Their bratswurst is also savory and the tasts is different from others I had. Aparently they have a special blend for their sausages made by a special chef for their restaurant. Decor is very homey and the wait time is also short! Cons: The potato salad was too vinegary for me, but tasted much better with mayo added. If you want authentic delicious German cuisine for a fair price, get your grub on at Ursula's! We were traveling through and purposely looking for a local establishment for a quick lunch. The moment we stepped in it was clear we were unwelcome. The gentleman working greeted us with irritation saying "seat yourselves, I'm not a maitre d'" then repeatedly scoffed at us as we tried to move towards a table, clearly not fast enough for him. We felt very uncomfortable and did not bother staying to see if it could get worse. read more

Yes this is the same review I posted for Paradise, its the same place, same address etc. I don't know why they are listed like separate businesses. I did not think it was 5 star worthy, i'd give Ursula 5 stars as she is why you go to this place. She is all personality and old world charm. The food was just ok, not amazing. I was a little disappointed in the home style not quite German deli as I can find in many Midwestern towns with large German populations. I think the food was more or less stuff you might make at home. The breads were ordinary and the contents of the two sandwiches I odder was grocery story quality and although not bad it was not amazing either. The shop has some old world charm and the owner is very attentive and friendly. I'd go back for her but the food was just small town ordinary. The German potato salad was under seasoned and lacking in the tart vinegary flavor that is expected with traditional German potato salad that most larger city German deli's offer. Its worth a detour to see a bit of this quaint small town square but don't expect amazing German food, its not. thinking of it as typical small town lunch counter with a charming German host/cook who would make a great grandma and you'll enjoy the experience. read more

Horrible is all I can say. Brought my German family here because my mom wanted schnitzel and it took forever. There was no one there yet we wait for over an hour to get food. The owner yelled at her husband and it was very uncomfortable. Either way, I was disappointed and wouldn't go back. read more

What an awesome hidden gem this was to find. I was visiting downtown to go to the massage place, who was away on lunch, so I asked a man sitting outside a few stores down what a good place to eat was and he pointed me over to Ursula's. I am so glad I went. I got the Schnitzel Sandwich with potato salad. It was fresh and flavorful and had the perfect crunch (I'm a texture person so this is important). The German rye was buttery and toasted to perfection, the breaded pork loin was tender and juicy and don't even get me started on the potato salad. Everything was just perfect.
