Discriminatory and Unprofessional Treatment at SSA - No ASL Interpreter Provided…read more I visited the Social Security office at 411 Richland Hills Dr, San Antonio, TX 78245 on Jan 23, 2025, between 10:45 AM and 12:45 PM with my older brother and his wife (both deaf). We went to update my brother's phone number because his phone service does not support relay or video interpreting, and he has no Wi-Fi at home. This means he cannot communicate by phone and must come in person for help. During our visit, a male staff member questioned why my brother can speak but cannot communicate on the phone. My brother relies on lip reading and explained he cannot use the phone. The staff member refused to provide his name, refused to write anything down, and gave us a dismissive attitude. He said we would be seen on Monday, Jan 26 at 2:00 PM and walked away. I then asked for a supervisor. The supervisor arrived and stated that no interpreter was available, that the VRI was not working, and that "the government changed contractors so there are no more ASL interpreters in SSA offices." She also said the only option was to communicate by phone, which is impossible for my brother. Both staff members refused to provide their names or supervisor names. Their behavior caused emotional distress and humiliation. This is clearly disability discrimination and a failure to provide effective communication required by law. This office needs serious improvement in accessibility for the deaf community. SSA should provide qualified ASL interpreters and respectful service. I do not recommend this office until they fix these issues.

While I'm able to set aside animosity towards ppl, views and the like during a professional encounter, she is wholly incapable of separating her feelings from these matters and proved SAPD has no good reason to keep her as a det. We sat down and discussed my apps for 3 hours. If you can't fully scrutinize 2 apps in 3 hrs, ur awful at ur job and should be reassigned elsewhere. Part of the reason she took 3 hrs was bc she beat a dead horse asking why I lied about certain things, which is where another breakdown occurred. I didn't lie. She evidently can't comprehend there can be multiple reasons for a given action. To my best recollection, she claimed I was guilty of misrepresenting my arrest record and therefore not taking responsibility for my misdeeds. I asked how I'm responsible for being arrested when I did nothing wrong. I asked how I'm culpable when the arrests were constantly bogus. An example, I was arrested for violating probation in TN. When I went to court, I took the evidence that I fully complied with the court order, and the charges were dropped. Her conclusion was I refuse to take responsibility. How am I responsible when the probation idiot in TN proved he's a moron. Maybe these 2 morons are related, I guess. Ultimately I planned for the interview not to take more than 3 hours and had to return my car so my friend could go to work, otherwise he'd be fired. So I told Jess that and she threw a hiss fit and actually tried debating me on the issue. I didn't realize keeping ur word was such a problem for SAPD. Had I known that having integrity was an issue with them, I probably wouldn't have applied. She threatened to close my app and my point to her was I had a commitment to honor and even reminded her that we had been going at it more than 3 hours! If that's a problem for u, maybe ur the issue, not me. I left and after a couple months of silence, I got the notice that they've permanently barred me from SAPD for lying on my app. Now, the military has opened its arms for me. Then I have to drive here just to drop it off, and this location doesn't even have a kiosk that prints labels. Instead of making one trip, I have to drive to two different post offices just to mail a package. It's a waste of time and gas. The officer came to the vehicle. I asked him, what was the reason for the stop? He stated that the u all truck have been reported stolen. I immediately got the U-Haul dealer on the phone where he stated. The truck is not registered as stole it. Because this was a felony stop. The officer asked me to step out the vehicle. Because I knew this stop was unlawful, I begin recording Once he realized I was already wearing a gopro, he then asked for my license, went back to the vehicle check on me that is when he came back to the car and stated now that the vehicle had a broken taillight, me, being a truck driver before I removed the vehicle from the dealership, the parking lot, I did a full free trip on the vehicle that I recorded proving that the vehicle did not have any scars. Dings and everything was working in proper order. This officer that pulled me over was never behind me. The reason being my vehicle was tailing the U-Haul, buy another licensed driver to the point. They had to box in my personal vehicle, to force it to move from behind me. Then he attempted to justify his stop with various felonious excuses. I asked for a white shirt. They did not present a white shirt to me. He then began to tell me they're lieutenants, captains and sergeants, proper names, at this point in the stop, he is now attempting to give me a warning in writing. Regarding a fake taillight, that was supposed to be broken. I don't kn went to check immediately upon my relief.
