(My years in the military and working outdoors; while being exposed to outdoor sports while having my face and body exposed to the sun and storm conditions and other outdoor elements over the course of 30 plus years, it takes a toll on a persons skin and body. However, I felt at ease and comfortable as I was examined by her, and she explained the many reasons and dangers being exposed to the sun on a day-to-day basis, without using sun tan locations with PF factors of 40-50% or any other protections! And I found her and her staffs "Bedside manner," completely professional in every way possible! She is a credit to her profession and to the center's and to the many patients like myself, around her that need her advice and care! I have my 3 adult children, my husband and many friends go see her. She is the BEST - and it is obvious she LOVES what she does - she loves her patients - and her bedside manner is incredible - she is warm, intelligent, friendly and makes you feel important and comfortable (even wearing a paper gown!) - and she listens to your concerns. In the past 3 years I have had 5 instances of skin cancer - 1 basal cell under my nose that looked like a tiny little pimple but required Mohs surgery AND reconstructive plastic surgery the following day; 3 squamous cell that required Mohs surgeries; and 1 invasive malignant melanoma that required an immediate wide local excision. NONE of them looked like what a typical cancer of that type would look like. But Emily Thai has an EAGLE EYE and she can spot a questionable area on your skin quickly. I go in with a list of concerns every time I see her (which is every 3 months now) - and we go over each one - and then she finds things on her own that I never even saw. She is extremely thorough - and I TRUST HER completely. We work as a team - and if I have any questions about a new spot that could pop up - I can call her office and get an appt if needed. She is very watchful over my skin - and we don't take any chances. in addition to the 5 skin cancers I have had - I have had MANY atypical moles and pre-cancerous spots removed as well. Anyway, the ART removal for a tiny tattoo on my back was fine but took a long time; I was there for 2+ hours. When I arrived, the door was locked, and I waited about 15 minutes in the hallway before anyone let me in. Once inside, the aesthetician spent around 20 minutes talking about her business and the products she uses basically a sales pitch, then briefly looked at my skin for about 30 seconds before telling me that microneedling wasn't suitable for me and recommending an $800 laser treatment instead. I can appreciate a professional opinion but a consultation consists of asking the patient their concerns , what treatments or products they are currently using , goals. and thorough examination of the skin . None of this was done . In total, I was there for about an hour, received no treatment, and later came home to find a $250 charge sent to me . I then had to spend additional time sorting out a mix-up in their patient profiles. Despite the circumstances, they refused to refund my $20 deposit, even though I never received any service. Overall, the experience was unprofessional, frustrating, and felt misleading. Poor customer service and lack of transparency -- I would not recommend this place.
