Terrible experience. Disorganized, dirty salon. I could not relax at all. Someone had to tell the nail tech what to do during my pedicure and the problem I went in to address was not resolved. The tools were not packaged for the pedicure as they were for manicure, files are reused, and the technician stuck the metal file straight back in her tool bucket after she used it on me. This raised concerns for me about sanitation practices. They have a full list of services available online but apparently none of those services are actually offered. Uneaven polish application. I also asked how much the service would cost and was told sit down and the tech would tell me which did not happen. read more

My nails came out terrible. I got a gel x fill set with French and it is bubbled underneath and my white tips are thicker than the the base color. got burned by the e file multiple times. Asked for them shorter multiple times and still wasn't the length I asked for. Expressed how upset I was and they wanted me to sit and have them do it again after it took 2.5 hours! Came to have a relaxing afternoon date with my partner who made an appointment ahead of time. Immediately upon arrival they try to split my partner and I up without asking if that was okay. This should have been an indicator of the experience I was about to have... The tech who was working on me was not particularly friendly, seemed to skip steps (I watched both my partner and the person next to me get some treatment that involved wrapping the foot with something under it, but this wasn't offered to me.). In spite of their cold demeanor the technician who worked on me did a good job and would have been a positive experience had I not been ejected from sitting next to my partner IMMEDIATELY! My toe nail polish wasn't even given the chance to dry before the turn and burn attitude became incredibly apparent.... If you want to relax by yourself this is probably the place, but if you are coming for a date with your partner you he left wanting... I don't remember the last time that I wrote a review for anything, but the experience my mom and I just had at Solace was inspiring. I've been going to Solace since I was a kid, and though during times I've visited the area recently I've felt the service didn't back up the increasingly exorbitant prices, I've been reasonably satisfied with the results. Today, however, left much to be desired. To begin, I didn't realize that it was an extra charge to get your cuticles trimmed. I've been to countless salons and have never had to ask for it when getting a manicure, dip powder or not. I didn't even notice until she started dipping my nails into the powder with my cuticles hanging off. It's $7, which is insane. This wasn't too bad, a simple misunderstanding that tells me that I don't need to come back anytime soon. What crossed the line was that my mother was left sitting in the chair mid-pedicure with a wet towel on her legs for 30 minutes while her nail technician left to give her daughter a manicure. No apology nor explanation besides telling her that the other customer was her daughter. My mom even offered to come back if she was double booked, but she insisted that she sit. For what Solace charges these days, you'd think that they wouldn't do things like this. Adding a star because our nails were satisfactory. read more

I just got my nails done by Tammy and she's fantastic. I got a simple gel manicure but she got perfectly to the edge of every nail without leaving any bubbles. The woman even stayed a little later to accommodate my after work hours which was very kind of her. I am literally in my car in tears over a pedicure. My kids saved their money to get me a giftcard-- which still has money on it, and I feel like they completely wasted their money. During my $70 pedicure, which was supposed to include reflexology, the lady spent the first 30 minutes tending to her daughter. There was no reflexology. One of my toenails is crooked. I asked her to even it out, but that never happened. She began my manicure and after filing one hand got up and left because her daughter woke up. Least relaxing pedicure ever. This wasn't my first experience at Solace. I have been going here for manicure, pedicure for over a year . I took my sister , who was visiting from NY since I have been a regular customer here. Anne, who did my nails no longer works here and Kristy, who is super nice was busy with another customer. I had Dana, who not only rushed through the whole service without paying any attention to cuticles but cut my nail bed. I attached a picture. My sister had Vivian, who did not want to seem to be there in the first place and acted like she was doing us a favor for a service we had paid $84. Kathy , who did my sisters pedicure was very attentive. So , my sister only tipped Kathy. An hour later I got a call from Vivian asking for her tip. Why would we tip someone who not only have us a bad service but left us feeling terrible with her attitude. She is careful and talks to you throughout your session to make sure you are ok and are not in pain. I haven't had anything else done here but if you need a wax you should come here! The large shopping center is in South Riding on Loudon County Parkway which is a great location. Worst experience. Schedule a consult to ensure stylist had opportunity to look at my hair, understand what my goal was and what I didn't want. Discussed price and everything involved, root color, highlights, toner, shampoo, conditioner and a cut. Ended up with a choppy UNEVEN cut and no toner was used. They won't refund money for the horrible cut and only offered for them to cut it again. Why would I risk what hair length I have left? Humaira claimed she put toner in my hair but I've never had toner shampooed and immediately rinsed out in 30 years of having blonde hair. I sent her pictures of my hair and reschedule to go in. Stylist said she could lighten with highlights. Why didn't you do that in the first place? I'm left with my existing highlights are too lights with brassy remaining color. If I had ashy roots how'd I end up with red tones. Stylist is colorblind and fri t desk rude. Better of going to Hair Cuttery. read more

Absolutely horrible. Would never ever ever recommend to anyone who has some place to be, but probably fine if you enjoy sitting around having your time wasted. Like most customers, I work a full time job, and needed to get my nails done, called to make an appointment and was told 1:30. I left work early and I showed up at 1:30 and was told it would be a few minutes. I went back up to ask how long was "a few minutes" and I was told it'd be 15-20 minutes, but I didn't have another 15-20 minutes to spare. So I just epically wasted my time.
