I was given an appointment time (10:30), showed up with my documentation, and only had to wait about 15 min before my name was called. After sitting down at the window, I handed my documentation to the lady and within 5 minutes I was on my way! I couldn't have asked for a more pain free experience. The parking lot wasn't full, the security guards were nice and respectful to everyone - - government offices should take note! This is how it's done!

I had an appointment here because Houston's SS office had a 6 month waitlist vs only 3 months here. Ridiculous I know. Checked in and Took a number at the self serve kiosks. They passed over my number so I told someone and then they called me by name to a window within 5 minutes later. Total wait time was about 1/2 hour. I told them my issue and they wanted to mail me a new card but here's the interesting catch, they can only mail to a local address. Wtf. So weird. So I gave them my dad's address and that was satisfactory for them and off we went. Not as painful as I was expecting.

I decided to try here instead of going to downtown Memphis. It's a small office with a pretty big…read morecrowd. First thing is the kiosk that asks you a few questions about why you are visiting today, then gives you a printout with a number. There were two of us here to see someone for different reasons so two tickets. We were 9 numbers down and sat in comfortable chairs looking at a big screen that showed which numbers were being served. Each time a new number was up they announced it over the intercom and with the window you are to report to. In order to get to your interviewer you open a door and walk into a hallway and seek out your cubicle which has two chairs and a plexiglass divider between you and the staff person. I like this arrangement because you have total privacy from the room full of people waiting and some semi-privacy from the few people around you. I was called approximately :15 minutes after getting my number and my wife was only a couple minutes after that. We both were getting replacement social security cards plus I had a short interview to do for my son. We both were completed in under :10 minutes after interviewing with very professional and cordial people. Overall I was very happy with.the whole experience from beginning to end. This is absolutely my choice for a social security office even though they try to get me to go way downtown Memphis, nope I am going across state lines to a closer, less crowded and more pleasant outpost. Olive Branch and their crew have it together.

I especially like the self service kiosks, which make it quick and convenient to mail packages and buy postage without waiting in line. The building is well maintained, and there is plenty of space inside. Even when it gets busy, it never feels overcrowded. The staff has always been helpful and professional when I've needed assistance. Overall, a reliable post office with convenient self service options and a clean environment. I will continue using this location for my mailing needs.

The lady that was greeting everybody at the door and finding out what they needed was the most pleasant and I thought, wow this is a surprise! But then we waited 30 minutes after our appointment time and my son was supposed to test to get his learners permit. The lady we went to was pretty rude. I'm assuming he failed the eye test, but we were never actually told that. When I said something about the test, she's snarled, "He's not taking the test." And I mean that she literally snarled at me. She threw a form at me, charged me two dollars, and said come back tomorrow with his glasses. Now that's on him that he didn't have his glasses for his eye test, but turns out that the form she threw at me has to be filled out by his ophthalmologist. She could have told us that. She could have told us he failed the eye exam instead of us just guessing. And I'm not even gonna talk about the other female employee that screamed at everybody to be quiet or she'd escort them out of the building when applause broke out after a number was called. If you have 50-60 people waiting with one guy saying he'd been there since 8:15 am and it was now 3 pm, they're gonna break out in applause when a number is called after 30 minutes of no number being called. If you don't have the patience for that and scream at already frustrated customers, maybe the DMV isn't the job for you!
