Most of the staff here are nice, however, the store manager is very terrible, we bought expired dairy products here, but it is three days expired and still on the shelf, we came back to the store and tell the manager about the problem，he didn't feel anything wrong, he thinks it is normal ,just return or exchange，He didn't apologize but he said that is very busy in here and he can't take care of all. Jeffrey is the assistant manager and Brian is the manager Both are very misogynistic towards woman and will treat thier employees as they see fit. Good or bad. It's a very male dominated atmosphere and only men get promoted and women are left with the cashier stuff or stocking or collected trash in the 100 degree heat. They didn't even attempt to give me breaks on my first few days and gave no input, training was a whopping 2-3 minute intro and then the manager went "poof" for the remaining of the day. No training whatsoever and your left to figure it out. I got treat poorly one last time when I went to retrieve my last paycheck which I didn't think they would pay, I hadn't heard from them in a long time and was about ready to report them for fraud. I have worked in coffee and food service ownership, management and sales for over seven years. I probably have spent over 350k of money in the various locations throughout WA. I therefore, feel really poorly about rating this Bellevue location as my least favorite C&C in the State of Washington. Their manager Bill, was not only mean, but rude and offensive. My general weekly purchases run somewhere on the order of 900 a week. This week we had been slammed busy at the stands and I had to send an employee to make purchases. Luckily, over the years, I haven't had to make many returns at Cash n Carry. The objects are far to heavy to keep loading and reloading. However, this week, the inexperienced employee made some poor choices on a few items, and I needed to exchange them. Bill the manager was rude and nasty. Really a 180 degree difference from the pleasant experience and assistance I regularly receive from their Lynwood and Tacoma locations. Thankfully, his much more considerate employees, Tony and Mike, were kind enough to help me put the heavy boxes filled with cans of chocolate and syrups back in my car despite their manager saying, "they didn't need to help me at all and that it Was ok to ignore me". I would do anything to not visit this location again. it's such a shame that this location happens to be closest to my home. The manager at this location is one of the poorest in retail. read more

What happened to the name Cash & Carry? Did their company got bought out or did they rebrand? Well, everything is still the same except for the sign. This is like a Costco, except you don't need a membership or need to buy in bulk. It's cater for restaurants and businesses, you can get anything from cups to food to receipt papers, they are open to everyone though. It's really convenient to get the to-go containers here to bring to pot lucks. They also sell dum-dums with rare favors like peach mango, these are the only thing I find that can calm screaming children besides distracting them with the iPad. Not sure if it will be obvious with the gps's direction since it's kind of tucked in, but it's right next to the Harvey Davidson dealership. The only thing I don't like is how hard the carts are to maneuver, it basically can only be pulled in one direction, you'll see what I mean. Other than that, great business with a great concept. I have been a long time shopper since the brand name change. Recently this store in Bellevue has taken a nose dive in produce quality. Their red onions and lemons always has fungus on them. I called the store today and spoke to the assistant manager to tell them about the issue. He was least bothered to hear what I has to say and implied that I was lying as I was the only one who complained about this issue. I have receipts and pictures. He didn't even wait until I finished my conversation and hung up on me. This has never happened before they changed brands. Today's experience was very unpleasant and off-putting. I am not sure if me or my family ever want to shop at this store again. My intention of the call was not even to ask for a refund but to inform them about the issue, which I conveyed it to the assistant manager. I just wanted to give an honest feedback so they can check the condition of the produce. Selling produce with fungus on them can be a health hazard to hundreds of their customers. But looks like their customer's health is of least important. The dismissiveness of the assistant manager was appalling and shocking. read more

SAAAWEET! I really wish I had known about this place five years ago when I moved to the PNW. Back in Michigan we have stores called GFS (Gordon's Food Services) and when I was there, I LOVED those places. They offer bulk foods and equipment without having to pay any BS membership fees (that other larger big-box bulk stores...to remain nameless... DO). So yeah, this place is cool. LOTS of food. LOTS of equipment and stuff all on the cheap. Need meat? They've got it. Need cleaning chemicals? They've got it. Need frozen food? They've got it. Need bulk coffee-beans? They've got it. Need a kidney? WTF... why are you on Yelp? Go ask your family and friends and FUCK, get to a HOSPITAL. And even though the place is call "CASH and carry" they DO take credit. My boyfriend doesn't want me to tell you about Cash & Carry. The reason isn't obvious. The store is small. It has no marketing displays. The cumbersome carts have flat beds for case sized lots. The main attraction is good prices for large quantities. At first I resisted, simply because of the storage issue. Where was I going to put all of this food? How was I going to use it all up before it spoiled? Then we bought New York strip steaks at $4.36 per lb and all we had to do was cut the beef into 1 inch steaks. I do have room to store 10 lbs of steak. Okay, so maybe there was something to this. Today I bought two gallons of milk for $4.12 making it $2.06 per gallon. That fit into the refrigerator easily. I bought a gallon of mayonnaise for $6 instead of a quart for $4. Since it takes 4 quarts to make a gallon...hmmm, ok it was a good deal. That went into the refrigerator with room to spare as well. And so the space issue was greatly exaggerated. So why doesn't my boyfriend want you to know about it? Because unlike the evil Costco, there are no crowds, nor do you have to pay for a membership. At Cash & Carry you can shop in peace and pay only for what you buy. And it's not really roughing it to shop there despite the lack of frills. There is a clean and spacious rest room. There is a selection of cold drinks and snacks for sale. The employees are consistently friendly and helpful. And then there is that pleasant surprise at the end...it's only how much? read more

Love this place. Warehouse prices without warehouse sizes. No membership required. Great deals on frozen stuff like hashbrowns to sausages and salad dressings. I get my Ghiradelli cocoa and Davinci frozen drinks syrups for here. Also great place to pick up spices, Asian staples, and Kreusteaz waffle mix... OK monster size Lazarus lump mesquite charcoal is an awesome bargain too. Smallish restaurant supply section of cooking and serving stuff is handy too. Very sad to say that "the chef store" pricing has escalated so much that I can no longer shop there and save money as I did when it was "cash and carry". They once were very competitive with Costco and I often would buy from them instead of making a trip to a Costco location. Very interesting store here. I purchased a cheddar cheese brick on 2/22, took it home and saw that it was expired as the date on it was 2/13. Yuck!!! I was going to return it but as there was only 1 cashier and a mile long line when I purchased it, I decided to cut my losses. We refer to this place as Poor Man's Costco. It has the bulk sizes associated with warehouse clubs, but you don't need to join a club or pay a yearly fee to shop here. (And don't worry about bringing cash. It's called Cash & Carry because it used to be a cash-only business for small grocers and restaurateurs, but these days anyone can shop here and debit and credit cards are accepted.) This is THE best place to pick up flavored syrups. The store stocks what appears to be the full line of both Torani and DaVinci syrups (regular and sugar-free), plus a handful of Le Sirop de Monin flavors, at wholesale prices. It's also a great spot to pick up bulk candy bars, boxes of Lindor balls, frozen burritos, basic cheese and other dairy options, and industrial-sized spices and spice blends. The store still caters primarily to food service, so you'll also find things like doilies, table checks, restaurant napkins, ketchup and mustard squeeze bottles, plastic bowls, melamine servingware, aluminum pans and massive towers of Chinese take-out boxes (I use them for craft projects and leftovers). Although C&C offers some good deals, you still need to be a savvy shopper. Everyday prices here are not always as good as sale prices at the local grocery store, and the produce in particular is not always as fresh as I'd prefer. Also, if you choose to pick up meat here, be aware that it's only sold in bulk, so be prepared to cut it into smaller portions, package and freeze the excess as soon as you get home. But the prices per pound are good and the quality is very fine. I can't address any issues regarding returns or customer service at this store, as I've never had to return anything. read more

I don't know how I have lived my life without ever experiencing Cash and Carry before. We went in for Peanut Oil..... we left with.... well, pretty much everything. I was definitely like a kid in a candy store. I love Costco cuz you can get a lot of stuff at a good price, BUT, sometimes I don't need 4 million cups. This is where Cash and Carry comes in. They sell a lot of stuff in bulk, but some stuff they just have good prices on. Like a big bottle of chaloula that cost the same as a small bottle at the grocery store. it's not great for everyday shopping. But it's a great option if you need certain things in bulk. I hear their meat dept has some good prices too. Looks like its a lot of businesses who shop here, but its great that its open to the regular public and you don't need a card like Costco. First: The name is all wrong. It's not a cash-only business, so your cards will work just fine here. Some of it will remind you of Costco, but there is no membership. Like Costco, you're going to find more to like here if you want to buy in bulk. Unlike Costco, there is no focus on premium brands. You're sort of shopping in a restaurant supply place: there are a certain amount of things that will only appeal to restaurants, but there is also that will appeal to the average household. They have the six ounce size of soy sauce, but they also have the five gallon bucket. Not everything here is a bargain, but you will find some great deals. One of the highlights for us is every flavor of latte syrups in the entire universe. There is almost a whole row of them, and the price is about half of what you'll find in the supermarkets. We also stock up on the frozen seafood: calamari steaks, tuna steaks, shrimp, etc. Lots of frozen meats entrees, soups, etc. The vegetable selection is minimal, all packaged in bulk, but the quality is good. Warning #1: There are no shopping carts, just flatbed trollies. They're nearly non-steerable so you'll want to drag it behind you rather than pushing it in front of you. Don't look like a total noob. Warning #2: There is only one line for all three cash registers, and it starts in front of the bread. Don't try to get in line behind the person currently at the cash register, or you'll be cutting in front of all the people who really are in line. Noob! read more

Cash & Carry is like a mini-sort-of-Costco. There are a few differences as you walk in. First, the carts are flatbeds, which can be hard to push around. Second, there isn't a membership center, many lines, or even all that many people. The food selection is different too. Used to all the samples at Costco? None here. How about all those made-to-order foods? Sorry. Cut steaks? Well, you can buy a whole side of beef and cut it yourself (they sell the knives.) Really, this is more of a restaurant supply store. But there are a few advantages. First, it's easy to get in and out, and for groceries, they do have a pretty good selection (though not nearly as comprehensive as Costco.) The staff is friendly. They also have the best selection of flavored syrups you will find in the city. They literally have everything, all for about half the price of the supermarket. Chocolate syrup for homemade lattes? Check. Lemon syrup for Italian sodas? Check. You name it, they have it. They also have frozen gyro meat. "What's that?" Well, most gyro places use these thin slices of meat, kind of like SteakUms. Cash & Carry sells these by the box (5 pounds, I recall), all pre-sliced. Just keep in your freezer, peel off a few slices at a time, and you can have gyros as a quick meal whenever you like. There are a few of these around town. Note that they do seem to have different selections - some don't have the gyro meat, for instance. But it's worth checking out, and saving a bit of cash in the process. read more

Great selection of stuff for our business from paper products to snack foods to food supplies. I shop here as often as necessary when Costco or other suppliers can't get to us quickly enough. It's a generally painless experience. The assistant manager, Brendan, is nearly always prickly, unfriendly, or rude. Avoid him if you can. I've interacted with him 4-5 times in the last 2 months and whether in the checkout line or on a question, he won't make eye contact, acts like you're not there, and is very condescending. I am always impressed by the customer service at C&C - always super friendly, whether you call on the phone or in person. When I have a function at work to shop for, I start at C&C and then other places (Costco) if C&C doesn't have what I need. I've been here many times and there are always items askew on shelves, sometimes on the floor. HOWEVER, this is the ONLY place I'll go to for my Da Vinci or Toriani syrups! This Cash & Carry is what you'd expect. It's a place that you go to when you know exactly what you want, because you'll be buying Costco-sizes of it. They have a good selection of the basics of cooking you'll need - oils/meats/veggies/cheeses. For other specialty things, like certain energy drinks, it's a good idea to call in ahead of time. I've found the employees to be helpful and they will go the extra mile checking the back and uncovering pallets to see if they can help. Cash and Carry, I think, wasn't designed for your average shopper. It almost feels like they cater to catering companies, small businesses, taco-trucks, espresso huts, that sorta thing. I mean, they HAVE everything a family could want, but take a walk through their paper goods aisle and you'll see what I mean. They get good points for their meat prices. Good selection, pretty good price, pretty good dried meat selection, etc. Some good cheese stuff, too. They lose major points for their produce selection. Everything here looks pretty hashed. It's almost like they buy as cheap as possible and leave it on the shelf till it is literally starting to rot. Tomatoes? Not here, my friend, look elsewhere. Lettuce? Wilty as hell. Peppers? Already starting to wrinkle. They earn back some points for their impressive freezer selection. And their canned goods selection is awesome too. I wouldn't recommend this place unless you really DO have a way of polishing off that #10 can of beans, though. Plan appropriately. This place is heaven similar to Costco -- bigger amounts for a cheaper price. I came here to buy a pack of horizon organic milk and I was so excited that they had it here. Sadly I was unable to check the expiration date on the outside of the box so when I went home turns out they had been expired for over a month... I didn't go back to return it because I think it was my fault that didn't enforce the check the expiration date rule. Also, I was a little annoyed that they didn't make sure their products are fresh. I understand that stores sometimes don't sell certain things very well, but food is a different story, I ended up sick attempting to try one of the milk. Ever since working as a bartender and having to pick up restaurant/bar supply items at Cash and Carry I have been hooked. It's fairly small and sells items in bulk, and no membership is required. Despite it's name you can pay with cash OR credit/debit. They have lots of random useful things you cannot find in regular grocery stores but are used to seeing in restaurants. For example I bought a case of those mini solo cups with lids (2 oz.) for Jello shots on halloween. They also have the coffee syrup you are used to seeing at the grocery store for around $10, but they sell it here for under $4 a bottle, and have every flavor including diet syrup. read more

This place used to be limited to restaurant business owners until they opened it up to the public. Glad they did. Great deals on bulk foods - better than Costco. They also sell reliable kitchen ware and other janitorial supplies that do a great job in the home. I would recommend this store to anyone looking for a good deal. read more
