Well it was going ok till I got to check out, but I'll start at the beginning- they do not have…read moreenough carts for starters, they have 3 or 4 total and then a few flat bed trolly carts which isn't easy for those with limited mobility, but while that was annoying it wasn't a deal breaker- some of the stuff is a good deal especially if you don't have a Costco membership but it's still pretty comparable to Safeway/winco if you are good with clipping coupons- obviously this place is more for bulk and such but has a lot for the ordinary house hold- found my coffee syrups and a few other things and headed to the register- we did start at the little red triangle that says line starts here but as lines go just kept following the person in front of me- now the cashier stepped away dealing with the customers in front of me (who i was following from the red triangle sign) she comes back looks at me and says the line starts at the red triangle, trying to signal me to move to the back of the line- that wasn't gonna happen, I said yeah I know I just moved forward- got a blank stare and she continued with the customer in front of me- when I got to the reg like 1.5mins later it was very lack luster in service, I did decline a small box but would have though she could have helped loaded my few items into the cart to help move the process and as I walk with a mobility aid which takes one of hands, help out a person who has limited mobility but I'm assuming since she thought I cut the line even tho I didn't she wanted to have a tude about it which sucks cus we were talking about coming back and stocking up on a few things that peaked our interest but I'll go to winco and Costco if this is how your gonna treat your customers-

Their website carries weekly sale items info and has a user friendly search engine that so far has…read morebeen accurate plus a store locator. https://www.chefstore.com/locations/store/bothell-506/ Chef' Store caters to people who know their way around a kitchen with some professional or DIY background. It's primarily a store for restaurants and food service providers. It has a warehouse/grocery store vibe. It's typically not for the timid, but hold your judgement for now. Example: Canned items are sized for restaurant use. A brand of chili I'm partial to has the weight of six pounds on the label. Just to give you an idea. Beef is not made into cuts like steaks or roasts. You get what are called "primal cuts" like the brisket, flank, sirloin, or round. Each weighing six pounds or more in most cases. So if you don't mind opening cans and portioning the contents into freezer bags, or cutting your own steaks, roasts, stir fry, or stew meat, you'll feel at home. And if you know your prices, you can find their sale items to be generous. Just have the freezer space to accommodate. That's not to say they don't cater to the regular shopper. Produce, bread, and some diary items are available. The selection of precooked vacuum sealed Asian noodles is worth mentioning. And there is a selection of pre packaged deli meat and cheese slices available. Some of them very good. The meat classics are there: like salami, roast beef, ham, turkey, mortadella, corned beef, or pastrami. Tip: if there is a one or two pound container of corned beef or pastrami, get one if your a fan. It's worth mentioning the bulk cheese section. Here you buy a loaf of provolone or Swiss at considerable savings. Just prepare your spouse ahead of time when you arrive home with a two foot long loaf of Swiss. And have the fridge space figured out. There are other cheeses ranging from bulk Greek feta, Gorgonzola, and Asagio, to Parmesan, Gouda, or mozzarella. Imported and domestic. Worth a look if you're a cheese or fondue lover. I pick up Mozzarella, Swiss and Provolone. Tip: warm clothing advisory - it's cold in that room. They have the primal cuts of mostly beef and pork in the same curtained off section. Bulk bacon and linked specialty items like hot dogs and Brotwurst are also there. The freezer section carries prepared items like burritos, ravioli, breakfast sausage, seafood, appetizers, and desserts. In bulk sizes. Again: if you know your prices you can walk out with some pretty good deals. Just have the freezer space. Pastas, flours, and rice: there is no shortage. The variety of name brand bulk flour and rice is impressive. Bulk size bags of pasta are competitively priced. Baking supplies should be compared. Bulk charcoal, usually three or more varieties is available in season. Red Mill is the predominant brand of flour: 25 lb bags. The store provides a large assortment of commercial grade kitchen supplies. Cleaning supplies, paper plates, freezer bags, foil, bulk rolls of plastic wrap, and various items used for catering. Serving utensils, platters, trays and commercial grade cooking tools and knives are offered. Large containers of mostly, but not all, common spices are there. Chef's Store does not provide bags for you to transport your goods. At the front of the store empty boxes that held bulk product are free and available for you to transport your food home. Since no bagging is done checkout is much faster. There can be a line but it moves. Staffing has mostly been adequate. If your into providing a spread during a football game, throwing a BBQ, or having a party - it's worth checking CS out. During game season the activity level is noticeably higher. If you become a regular, it's better to go there on a weekday before they get hit by the weekend party crowd. Parking is adequate. During weekends when there is a game it will get crowded. There is parking for disabled customers at the store front. Grab a cart before going in. Grab boxes when leaving or bring your own bags. PS: keep a sharp eye out for product not found in grocery stores. I found an Asian Tabasco sauce that was not available anywhere except at CS. Sometimes they get a shipment of product a company is testing. I stocked up. It's no longer available. Good hunting !

Slooooow checkout!!!…read more Same cashier lady yakking her mouth off faster than her laser checker. This week both times I came to buy a couple hundred pounds of steak I waited 3-5 minutes with no movement in line. First day, just dealing with her slow hands. 2nd time, two checkers with 8+ in line. She talks too much for how slow she is. Maybe have her collect carts? Costco now seems faster to get checked out!

Exceptional Service - Athena Weavador…read more I had the pleasure of being served by Athena at Dick's Restaurant Supply, and I can say with absolute certainty: she is simply exceptional. Professional, attentive, and incredibly dedicated, Athena transformed an ordinary experience into something truly special. Even without the part numbers for my food processor robot, she went above and beyond: she researched online, printed out the details, and the next day I had a quote. She processed the payment flawlessly and even confirmed via email that everything was correct with my order. Track number Eo Thanks to Athena, I'm very happy with my parts, and my hobby will only improve. Service like this is rare. She's not only impeccable in everything she does--she's an extraordinary person. Dick's Restaurant Supply can be proud to have someone like Athena on its team!

Since I bought the expensive unit at Dick's, I went to the store to discuss it with the manager, Dirk Happee. The two of us worked out a fair resolution to the problem, and for that I am thankful. I own a small food processing business and have bought a lot of equipment from Dick's over the years. I am pleased to remain a satisfied customer of this store due to their excellent customer service and professional attitudes of its personnel.

I snatched my credit card out in barest in front of everybody and told him you just told me you was giving me 50% off. He didn't wanna honor what he just told me so now he said he was gonna throw it away and I wasn't getting nothing since I didn't want to pay full price wow.

But you can also find extremely itself things for your home kitchen! I needed steak knives. I went to multiple household departments of major store chains, only to find that the only knives they sold were either butter knives bundled with full sets of spoons and forks, or big knife blocks for $70+ that also included many other knives that I was not in need of. So I decided to give a restaurant supply shop a shot. $6 later I had 12 absolutely solid restaurant quality steak knives in my possession. My utensil drawer overfloweth. There was no smaller quantity available, but beggars can't be choosers I suppose. The bottom line is that I can now cook and serve steak for 12 PEOPLE without having to wash a single utensil. Except forks. I think I need more forks now... but the good news is that I know a place!

Sure, maybe I'm completely ignorant of freezers, their models, and that there are differing prices etc. but that's why I called, so I could get an idea. This is one of those old-school businesses that has it all. While being specific to the restaurant…read moreindustry, it feels more like a friendly general store than anything else. The staff knows their business inside and out and the banter is relaxed and friendly. I went in there to replace a few pieces of my Homer Laughlin dinerware, you know, that nice heavy off-white china that a lot of restaurants use. I bought my original pieces at thrift stores in Philadelphia, then some more pieces in Raleigh, NC, at a restaurant supply store, and over the years, some of them had gotten broken and I no longer had a full set. With a dinner party of 7 people at my house on Friday night, I snapped about the mismatched dishes that I was going to have to put on my table. That led to the little journey from my downtown office to Dick's, conveniently located on 1st Ave just south of town. Anyway, one of the guys behind the counter sized me up, knew that I was new to the store (immediately) and not only asked me what I needed, but in a totally cheerful way took me right to it. And it turned out that in the back, he had half a pallet of one of the pieces I needed, and enough of the rest to piece my set back together. He teased me about only buying 6, saying he'd give me a better price on a couple of hundred... but where would I put them? :-) This store is not really meant for the home cook unless you're serious about it. You have to buy dishes ("smallware" in the trade) in units of 6 or 12, which might be more than you need or want. Still, their prices are really good, especially considering what it costs to ship the stuff if you buy it online! It's heavy, and fragile(ish), so shipping usually costs more per dish than the dish itself... but not so at Dick's. It's a good thing I was in a hurry or I would have been desperate to shop for aprons, knives, mixing bowls and maybe even a tocque (what a conceit!) LOL As it was, I paid my bill and left with a nicely-wrapped box of dinerware dishes. They do have everything, and if you are serious about cooking at home, you should check them out. They are way cheaper than Williams-Sonoma, Sur La Table, etc., and the stuff is meant to last forever and to take a lot of abuse. It won't be as pretty as La Creuset, but you'll get great service out of anything you buy at this store.
