Well it was going ok till I got to check out, but I'll start at the beginning- they do not have enough carts for starters, they have 3 or 4 total and then a few flat bed trolly carts which isn't easy for those with limited mobility, but while that was annoying it wasn't a deal breaker- some of the stuff is a good deal especially if you don't have a Costco membership but it's still pretty comparable to Safeway/winco if you are good with clipping coupons- obviously this place is more for bulk and such but has a lot for the ordinary house hold- found my coffee syrups and a few other things and headed to the register- we did start at the little red triangle that says line starts here but as lines go just kept following the person in front of me- now the cashier stepped away dealing with the customers in front of me (who i was following from the red triangle sign) she comes back looks at me and says the line starts at the red triangle, trying to signal me to move to the back of the line- that wasn't gonna happen, I said yeah I know I just moved forward- got a blank stare and she continued with the customer in front of me- when I got to the reg like 1.5mins later it was very lack luster in service, I did decline a small box but would have though she could have helped loaded my few items into the cart to help move the process and as I walk with a mobility aid which takes one of hands, help out a person who has limited mobility but I'm assuming since she thought I cut the line even tho I didn't she wanted to have a tude about it which sucks cus we were talking about coming back and stocking up on a few things that peaked our interest but I'll go to winco and Costco if this is how your gonna treat your customers- read more

I LOVE this place! Note that this chain of grocery stores used to be called "Cash and Carry". They must have changed their name fairly recently. I used to go to the Cash and Carry in Bellevue, WA before I moved to Vancouver, and I loved their can't-be-beat prices on many pantry staples. I recently needed a Cash and Carry fix, so I Googled the store in Bellingham (just an hour from Vancouver, max) and this store popped up. Yes, I drove an hour and crossed the border to get my fix (don't judge!). This site is somewhat hidden behind some office buildings but GPS found it okay. Like the other Cash and Carry stores, they have an abundance of boxes outside to take and use for your groceries, and unwieldy dollies for larger orders. For me, the biggest draw for this store is its AMAZING selection and low prices of coffee syrups! DaVinci and Toscani brands. OMG so many flavors and so many sugar free selections, and they all cost a fraction of what they go for elsewhere. A fraction. I'm not exaggerating. I stocked up on 10 bottles. These are the primary reason I love this store. The place isn't pretty. There are no fancy displays like at Whole Foods. But you don't pay Whole Foods prices. It's a warehouse. It's clean. It has most everything you need, grocery-wise, at the lowest prices around. If you need disposable plates or cutlery for parties or picnics (or if you're a room parent for your kid's classroom at school, like I was for a decade, in charge of class parties), this is the place to go. Let me start by busting a couple of myths. 1. Only restaurant owners can shop here. NO! 2. They only accept cash. NO! They take credit cards. Anyone can shop here. As our Yelp Community Ambassador, Jennifer J. pointed out, it's like Costco without membership. You cannot buy a TV or contact lenses here, but you can find very decent selections of food and restaurant supplies (e.g., plates, napkins, soaps) in huge bulk at very competitive prices. Personally, I only shop here once or twice a year because I don't need a huge bulk of food, but if you have a large family or have a large party, I recommend that you check out Cash & Carry. Here are some pros and cons in comparing Cash & Carry with Costco: PROS -No membership -Not crowded -Great prices CONS -Only food and restaurant supplies -No sampling stations :-( This store is kind of hidden, but go check it out! I discovered Cash & Carry several years ago and quickly gave up my membership to "Temptation City" a.k.a. Costco. I figure I've saved at least a few thousand bucks over the years. Because C&C offers pretty much all of the same bulk foods you will actually use in your kitchen but without all of the other stuff you end up throwing in your Costco cart and adding $100+ to your trip every time you go! The best way to tackle C&C is to be a seasoned shopper already. It will help you to more better identify the bargains to be had there. Also, grab a "hot sheet" when you walk in the door - it has all of their weekly specials (and these are the items to buy). You can even get on their mailing list to get a hot sheet delivered to your mailbox; but the process seems to take forever. Just be warned, C&C is designed for restaurant-sized buying, so you aren't going to find small portions of anything. But if you're smart (and you don't mind, say, portioning out that giant #10 can of tomato sauce into zip loc bags and freezing them) you will save a ton. Their meats are an especially good deal by-the-pound (just plan on buying 12+ pounds and portioning it out). Cheeses and other dairy work the same way. This is also the BEST place to buy Asian food - for example, coconut milk is usually 1/3 the price that it is in other stores! So plan your menu, make a list, and be prepared for some awesome savings. You will not even miss your Costco card! read more

It's basically Costco without the need to buy a membership. Also, you don't have to buy things in bulk, but you can. Unlike costco, it's mainly food and foodware. So don't expect to walk in and see giant TVs or electronics. It's a big supplier for local restaurants and businesses of the like. If you're planning to host a party, they also sell a lot of those supplies that you will need (plates, cups, table covers, etc.) read more

Great place for large quantities of certain things at low low prices. We do not own a restaurant. We go here to buy cases of Bob's Red Mill organic gf oatmeal cups (blueberry hazelnut or apple cinnamon), snacks for hubby's lunches: fig newton case and boulder potato chips case, stash teas, sriracha, chili paste, parchment paper, picnic supplies such as compost able plates/forks/knives etc... customer service is ALWAYS helpful, friendly and FAST. read more

Cash and carry is kinda like Costco, with food and restaurant supplies only. Most of the items are somewhat large quantities, but you can still buy smaller cheese, boxed tea, produce and many other things. They have lots of spice, tons of flavored syrups for coffee and ice cream and lots of candy. I have found some prices far better than other bulk places. It's fun place to look around in, I always want to buy all of the restaurant supplies. read more

The best place I have discovered in Bellingham. A whole lot of stuff for someone like me who loves to cook. Great for someone who has a small business. Some stuff were way cheaper than Costco. Cheese, eggs, meat, asian products, frozen sausage patties( which I can't buy in Vancouver) frozen fish, vegies you name it they have it. Im gonna keep on coming back. read more

I just found out about this place from a friend of mine and was told things are super cheap here. Wow! What a hidden gem. He was right AND no membership fees AND they take credit cards. It almost seems too good to be true. Some of the deals include honeydew melon for $1.29 (very ripe too), ribs for $1.49 a pound. So this warehouse type store generally sells to restaurants and everything is in bulk. If you are buying meat, it's best to split it between several people or freeze it in freezer bags. It does make things slightly more inconvenient. Some of the sauces are sold in gallon jubs or tubs instead of bottles. Aside from having to buy in bulk, I also found that some of the food prices are not good deals. I grabbed a bag of green beans that I just got a week ago at Costco for about $3 but here it rung up as $5. Therefore, if you plan on shopping only for deals, then buy only the items on the weekly ad. read more

This is one of the best undiscovered things in Bellingham. People...skip Costco. C n C typically runs cheaper, plus they have amazing products that you won't find anywhere else. The flavor powders those driveup coffee shops add to frappes to bulk up the volume? They get them here! The otherwise expensive Torani and Davinci syrups? Yup, right here. They have a whole aisle specifically for these type of products, and with a decent blender, you can make your own coffee shop right at home. I've also scored such finds as Arby's mozzarella sticks (they're sold here under the McCain foods namebrand, same exact product), as well as a lot of other popular restaurants' high priced appetizers. Sold in bags, fry or bake them yourself at home for a fraction of the price. Dairy products tend to run cheaper than Costco as well, unless you find them onsale at a grocery store. Pay attention to the hot sheet specials page, there are some incredible deals to be had. Best part? Since it's relatively unknown, there's not 4,000 people over running the aisles and grabbing everything in sight. read more

Very inconsistent service. Every time I call to get information on our orders no one knows the answers and the manager is never around to help. Then the workers AND management will show frustration towards me for a decision they made. The crew needs to be on the same page as one another and not take their frustrations out on the buyers who don't know how their store functions. Hopefully they get their ducks in a row next time! Update: continually spotty service. I suggest calling once or twice and making sure orders the orders are placed. read more

I live in Canada so I'm used to being completely gauged for food prices. I recently paid $8/lbs for brisket locally for a choice cut. Cash and Carry's price for choice brisket was just under $2.30/lbs. If you BBQ it's worth the trip to Bellingham 100%. I will be buying all my meat from Cash and Carry from this point on. It's literally 1/3 the price of Costco Canada. St.Louis cut pork ribs were less than 1/4 the price than superstore and a better quality IMO. The Tri-tip was less than 50% from any butcher I could find in the Fraser Valley. The Manager has his door open to answer any questions. The store is like Costco but only for food and restaurant supply for 1/3 the price (of anything in Canada). read more

This place is great if you are running a restaurant or a coffee stand. They have all the bulk products you could need. However, they are not the cheapest. It's really not a store for the average household shopper. read more
