The best place I have discovered in Bellingham. A whole lot of stuff for someone like me who loves to cook. Great for someone who has a small business. Some stuff were way cheaper than Costco. Cheese, eggs, meat, asian products, frozen sausage patties( which I can't buy in Vancouver) frozen fish, vegies you name it they have it. Im gonna keep on coming back.

Otherwise, it really depends on what you buy. Some items require you to buy in multiple of 2 or 3 or even a dozen. Not all items are in bulk or sold in multiples of many. I can find better prices elsewhere for most of the items here. I am guessing that is why the store is never busy.

I sometimes come here to buy plastic disposable gloves among other items for food prep. It's like a…read moremini costco where it's basically a big warehouse and everything is on very large shelves. Unlike Costco, you DON'T have to buy a membership in order to buy stuff here. It's entirely optional. The membership includes perks like member only discounts though. Typical of warehouse stores, a lot of the items are packaged in bulk. For example, you can buy a 6 pack of giant condiment bottles instead of just one pack. Another thing is some discounts are only given if you buy multiples. For example, a bottle of sweet chili sauce goes for $4. But if you buy 4 or more, you get 50 cents off each bottle. All in all, this place is really good for people who buy in bulk. One small negative is that the price tags are hard to find. I came with old relatives who had to look very carefully for the price tags because they were jumbled up with other product price tags for other items that were nearby. Other times, you would have to stoop to the very bottom and peek under a not so see-through plastic lining partly covering the price tags. Also, some prices are more expensive than other grocery stores. I didn't buy a 12 pack of pop here because they were more expensive than other places. Came around 8pm and the checkout line was long. It stretched to the middle of the whole store. The line moved relatively fast and I got to the checkout lane 10-12 minutes later. They have a Walmart style checkout line where one giant line is for 4-5 checkout tills. As far as I know, there are no self checkout lines at this store. Staff here are pretty nice. I forgot an item and they let me run to get it and come back. They chatted about personal stuff with another staff member as they rang my stuff up though. Interestingly, even though Wholesale Club is a sister store of No Frills and Superstore, you CANNOT earn optimum points but you can redeem them here. At least that was what I was told by the cashier at the time. All in all, I would come back once in a while for the restaurant or food prep supplies which aren't really sold in other stores or buy items i need in bulk and get a small discount. 3 out of 5 stars.

It is an awesome place for anyone who likes to cook. We bought many pots and pans and other small kitchen tools here. These are generally simple in design, intended for professional use (therefore presumably durable), and good value. There is parking in the back alley.

From a consumer's point of view, it's kinda of hard to gauge pricing; though Rob was helpful, when you're talking about tens of thousands of dollars, it's best to shop around. For instance, I saw my dream machine, a commerical milkshake mixer to make 3 at a time---guess we're talking about a drive-thru style a la United States --- for $995. One note is the warranty is VOIDED if you use it for residential use; guess asking for the GST # or restaurant name would clear that up in a jiffy lol. Besides, one would want this as a write off but I digress. Walking in from 7th Ave. (there's also the Manitoba entrance) the non-equipment goodies will be on your right: dishware, uniforms, pots/pans, etc. To me, there are other places that are bigger and more selection than here. Either way, they're geared towards restaurants/bakeries.

Have you ever spent $100 on something that ended up being a colossal disappointment? Well, I have,…read moreand let me tell you, the Cascadia mushroom "kits" take the cake. As someone who dabbles in the world of mushroom growing, I've had my fair share of experiences with similar products, but none quite like this. The instructions and facts that I was supposed to use these kits right away were sealed inside the boxes. If that is so important, wouldn't you think there would be a big sticker on the outside saying USE IMMEDIATELY? Since I wasn't able to use them right away, I stored the Cascadia mushroom kits in a dark and cool place, just like I had done with previous purchases from other growers.. Months went by, and I couldn't wait to witness the magic of fungi sprouting from the kits. Imagine my surprise when, upon finally opening the box, I discovered nothing but disintegrated clusters of worms delicately nestled inside. Oh, the joy! Now, I must mention a previous run-in I had with Cascadia. I followed their instructions to the letter with one of their kits, yet the mushroom growth was lackluster at best. When I voiced my concern, they swiftly pointed fingers at my "tenting" method, blaming me for their own shortcomings. But, oh how generous of them to send a replacement kit! Such benevolence should not go unnoticed. Let me take a moment to sing the praises of other companies in this delightful realm of mushroom cultivation. Unlike Cascadia, these companies have provided me with reliable products and impeccable customer service. With them, I have watched my mushrooms grow with awe and wonder, without the added bonus of worm-infested surprises. Lesson learned, right? My experience with Cascadia mushroom kits has left me disheartened and $100 poorer. The lack of clear instructions, combined with the worm-filled disappointment, has solidified my decision to steer clear of this company. I implore you, dear potential buyer, to exercise caution and choose wisely. There are other brands out there that offer superior quality and stand by their customers, providing peace of mind and fungi-filled joy. Remember, friends, when it comes to mushroom kits, choose wisely, or you too might find yourself facing a comedy of errors and worms.
